This review is long overdue but well deserved. I can't thank Mr. Curtin or his wonderful, professional and empathetic staff enough. l'm a RN in the ICU was referred to him by multiple people I work with who had first hand experience in the court system with Mr. Curtin. I retained him Summer 2017 within a month of my court date when my ex husband tried getting the restraining order I had protecting me and my son from his crazy new wife lifted and my ex filed for custody of my child. Two court hearings, two judges, same day. Naturally I was a mess, I hate court, and was terrified for my son. Richard and his staff was AMAZING. The court hearing request to push back the dates were denied but Richard (with 30+ years experience as family lawyer) reviewed all the files and documents I had and with only an hour before court hearing managed to make my ex look like an idiot and his wife to look even CRAZIER than normal. He won BOTH my court hearings! He OWNED that court room. And the satisfaction knowing he fought and won for ethical and just cause was priceless. His staff was so patient and empathetic, even though every time I was there I couldn't stop myself from crying (I really hate court). If you're doing what's wrong and you need a great attorney hire this guy. He's vicious in court and will just about eat anyone alive. He represents my ex and trust me when I say this guy has a powerful relationship with the judge and everyone in the Antelope Valley courthouse. That's probably why he won't take any case outside of the Antelope Valley Valley. His power in that court house is unmatched! Unethical is the perfect word for this man. Actually I wouldn't even call him a man because a real man wouldn't fight for what's wrong and keep a man away from his child with no just cause and no reason at all he just knows the way to work his clients declarations perfect and trust me you want to hire this guy. if you're the one that's doing wrong he will make you look so right. I got very lucky when I picked Mr. Curtin as my Attorney. He is a straight shooter, but don't let that intimidate you, he is a swell guy. The staff people are knowledgeable, sympathetic and are genuinely wanting to help you. In my opinion this Law firm is second to none. I had a very difficult case and I thought my goose was cooked. But because of his knowledge of the Law, his perseverance, and his wanting to help those who are in real need, he was able to turn things around. He is very passionate about his work. I got an opportunity to see him in Court, while working in my case. He knows what he is doing. I trusted him from the beginning, and I still trust him after my ordeal. I had to go to his office for a question, and as always, his staff was very helpful and guided me in the right direction. Divorce is a very difficult and traumatic episode in anybody's life, so you need some one cool knowledgeable, and focus in the Courtroom watching out for you, like Mr. Curtin. Richard P. Curtin, is the most unethical, unprofessional attorney I had ever met. In 2012, while going through my divorce proceedings, Curtin began dating my now ex- wife before our divorce was EVEN finalized. He abused his authority as an attorney to personally go after me, long after my divorce was finialized. He constantly threatened to file motions in court, and constantly stated he was going to charge me for his services and court filing fees. My ex-wife, and Curtain are now co-habitating and to date, and he still continues to represent my ex-wife like he's her attorney. I am finally going to submit a formal complaint with the California State Bar Association, against Richard Curtain for his unethical behavior, conflict of interest, and constant harassment. I have been told by other attorney's within the Antelope Valley, this isn't the first ocassion he has taken advantage of and dated his clients. If you should seek any legal services, be advised that this poor excuse of an attorney isn't the one you should retain for any legal services! read more

I highly recommend Richard Curtin! He is experienced, professional, aggressive, caring, and he knows the law! I retained him to help me with my sleazy, lazy, leech ex-wife who has been lying in court for 14 years after our divorce taking advantage of me through the court system. He presented my case such that the Judge saw through her lies (with some help from her) and came to an acceptable decision. He is honest with you and explains the situation along with your options. When I first looked into hiring him I spoke to people on both sides. The ones that were on the wrong side of him told me that they wished they had not been up against him. And the ones that had him as their attorney told me that he was amazing and they appreciated his representation! His rates are reasonable compared to other attorneys and you get your moneys worth! Mr. Curtain has been a family law attorney for 37 years and it is evident in his ability to navigate the complexities of divorce court. He knows what he is doing!! He was my attorney 10 years ago. When he first represented me I had monitored visitation twice a month with my 2 year-old daughter. It did take 3 years, mostly the fault of my ex-husband, but I got full custody and he got limited visitation. I recently needed Richard's expertise and advice.
