I am client of Derryberry & Associates - due to the passing of my father and him not having a will/living trust in place. After reviewing and changing the paperwork we met to finalize the trust. This is when the whole process came together. We reviewed the completed paperwork and made minor changes. On Aug 6, 2024 I had a consultation with Alex one of the attorneys in the firm. he charged me $300 to listen to me, for 30 minutes and he then discouraged me from hiring the firm to represent me in a trust dispute. I wouldn't want to hire him but I heard that Derryberry was a good attorney. My case will probably have to be litigated but a bulldog and that's definitely not Alex! read more

In terms of cost, Derryberry and Associates provides more for their Trust packages then most at a competitive cost To put it plainly, they were cheaper than their competitors. I didn't go to Derryberry and associates looking for a deal, and I don't recommend anyone planning their estate to do that because cutting corners can, and usually does, have a cost somewhere and the price is usually not worth it. It turns out that this firm is dedicated to their practice as well as servicing our Antelope Valley Community. I was able to get an appointment within a reasonable amount of time, Steven Derryberry answered all my questions, they sent a draft of my estate plan so i could review/amend it, they made the changes i wanted and set up another appointment so i could sign, all within a couple of months. My father and I were assigned "Alex" as a lawyer for estate planning. TERRIBLE SERVICE. He was very unprofessional and was rude to me. My father is hard of hearing and needed me to be there for support. My father went in knowing his estate plans and Alex was insinuating that I was influencing my fathers decisions. He also kept pushing my father to go another route when my dad already has his mind set on what he wants. Alex upset me and asked me step out of the office because HE upset me. He put his hand up in my direction and asked my father "Do I need to have her step out so you can tell me what it is you really want?" Very RUDE. I then got up and left on my own accord.
