My husband and I had quite an unusual wedding, on a boat going around the beautiful Poole Bay after a very small ceremony at the registry office. Richard was our photographer for the day and he couldn't have been better. When I received the photos, I was surprised by how many there were, the high quality and also how early he had arrived to take pictures of the boat preparation. It was all documented so well and beautifully. I always joke that I'm a photographer's nightmare, as I never pose. He managed to capture lots of natural shots of Paulo and I and didn't enforce too many posed shots on us, a blessing. Also, there are some really lovely and natural photos of our guests and the whole sequence captures the story of the day so well, I keep looking at it over and over again reliving the moments. Richard's best quality is his almost invisible and yet ubiquitous presence. He is very quick to capture special moments and yet makes everyone comfortable at the same time. For us, finding the perfect photographer was one of the most important parts of planning our wedding and once we saw Richard Skins' work on his website (and found out that he was available on the day!) we were absolutely over the moon. His photos reflect our wedding perfectly, and the amazing way in which he manages to capture the light makes the photos as magical as the day itself. Even more important perhaps, is how much everyone liked Richard! We were both completely at ease having our photos taken (which definitely shows), and nothing felt posed or wooden. So many of our guests too have not only complimented the photos themselves, which they love, but also how unobtrusive Richard was. We can't praise Richard highly enough he was our dream photographer! We knew we liked his style of photography from looking at his website but in addition to being a really talented photographer, Richard is also a great guy and a pleasure to have at our wedding. Personable, friendly and easy-going, Richard was also great at getting groups together for formal shots (as well as taking spontaneous photographs of our guests). His images of our wedding capture it so well and he has an eye for catching an unexpected shot every time I look at the pictures he took I'm reminded by what an amazing day it was and see something new every time. Richard is a clever man. He creates beautiful wedding photographs, which are both romantic and fun, but overall genuine. He is able to capture the real essence and feeling of a wedding day, whilst also creating magical imagery, photos which my husband and I will treasure forever. The majority of our conversation prior to the wedding was via email, but I knew from our first correspondence that Richard is both professional and personable. He took an interest in many elements of the wedding, and was able to offer me advice and reassurance about my concerns.On the day Richard was a star, calm and in control, whilst also seeming to disappear between the guests snapping away. Richard was our wedding photographer earlier this year and we couldn't have asked for a better guy. He completely understood the style and theme we wanted to go for (natural and relaxed with a vintage finish) and results were absolutely brilliant. On the day, he was friendly, professional and unobtrusive putting everyone at ease.
