    My husband gets home at 3:40pm to find out the blower on our wood boiler went out. I quickly found…read morethe part we needed was available at Charlotte Electric Motors. I notice that they close at 4pm so I quickly called at 3:59 and they answered the phone! The man told use they had the part and said he didn't mind waiting and asked how far away we are. We live 40 min from their shop in Charlotte. He told us we could call him because he lives 1 mile away from the shop and that he would be glad to come back so we can get the part we needed. We didn't want to inconvenience him, but really appreciated the above and beyond customer service since not having a blower for a wood stove on a 19 degree evening in December is a big deal! We ended up paying for the part online and asked if he would just leave it by the door for us to pick up. He agreed to our request, we got the part we needed and our wood boiler is now fix in the same night! We really appreciate Charlotte Electric Motors and what they helped us accomplish, our night could have been so much worse.

    I couldn't be more disappointed in these people. On a friend's recommendation I dropped my hot tub…read moremotor off for repair and was told they would get to it the next week. Several weeks went by with no communication so I called to check on it and was told it was bad. So, I asked what the options were, and the gentleman said he could replace it for a couple hundred bucks and would let me know when he found something. Several more weeks went by and still, nothing. So I called again. This time he said he would rebuild it with spare parts he had laying around. Not keen on this idea as well as it being contradictory to what I was told the last time, I questioned this but he assured me it would be fine and that it would come with a 1 yr warranty. So I told him to go ahead with that. Again, several more weeks go by with no communication. I call yet again and was told they were waiting on me to tell them the size of the water connections on the pump. I told them that that nobody ever told me that to which the lady on the phone argued, saying they did. Despite having no reason to at this point given what had transpired thus far, I gave them the benefit of the doubt here. I gave them the dimensions and was told again it would be ready the next week. I gave it two with, again, no communication before finally going in and asked for my motor back which was in the exact state as I brought it in. I very politely explained all of this to the lady running the counter and was met with nothing but deflection and excuses about how they deal with industrial stuff as well which backs them up, etc. I said that makes sense but does not justify them telling me one thing and doing another, nor the complete lack of communication. She said, and I quote: "your hot tub pump is not important to anybody when there is industrial stuff to worry about, and we don't call people to provide them updates" (even when it takes months longer than what they were told). She never so much as offered any apology for the inconvenience. I said yes ma'am, this clearly is not the shop for me then and walked out with my pump. Even after dealing with all of this, I was nothing but polite and kind, and was met with a snotty attitude, and a complete lack of ownership over the situation by C.E.M. I'd never go back. This whole situation was unacceptable at every step. I don't do business with people of this character. And I would advise others to seek an alternative.
