Petro couldn't help us, so we called Desert Diesel -- and within an hour, Victor pulled up. First impression: Professional. Straightforward. No ego. The kind of guy who walks up, shakes your hand, and gets right to work. He hooked up his diagnostic computer immediately. I handed him the fault codes Petro printed, and he didn't waste a second -- just started eliminating issues one by one. When something didn't add up, he didn't guess. He checked, re-checked, and crawled all over that engine until he chased the problem down. At one point, he pulled the intake piping and upper components to inspect everything properly -- not just looking, but testing each system the right way. No shortcuts. No "good enough." Eventually, he found it: Injector #1 was completely dead. He made calls, checked availability, and even after hours he found a replacement. The boss wanted the repair done the next morning, so Victor came right back first thing and worked straight through the day and late into the night -- all the way until 2 a.m. -- because the truck needed multiple regens and deeper work than anyone expected. During the regen periods, when most mechanics would just sit around, he used the time to keep inspecting and double-checking other parts of the system. When we had questions, he explained things clearly -- not talking down to us, not overloading us -- just solid, real answers from someone who knows his trade inside and out. The next morning we met him at his shop to grab the keys and wrap everything up. Same energy: respectful, calm, professional. Just a good man who stands behind his work. Price was more than fair for a mobile after-hours job, especially for the amount of labor, time, and expertise he put in. You can literally see where every dollar went. If we ever break down anywhere near Deming again, Victor is the first person we're calling. Jimmy had the part and the sealing gasket putty tape required to secure the fittings and three bolts to my RV. With his instruction, I replaced the fitting, and all was well. As I collected his knowledge about replacing the fitting, we discussed how I planned to install airbags on my current vehicle; he suggested I bring my RV to him to see if I needed to realign my sway bar. As we talked, he noticed my hitch sitting in the rear of my vehicle, and he recognized I did not have enough washers. He suggested I let him look at my setup, and I may be able to cancel the airbag purchase. He corrected the problem by realigning my sway bar, and after checking the batteries, I replaced both of my Deecycle AGM with new ones from his business. As a full-time RV'er, I was honored and grateful to meet and interact with Jimmy of Jimmiy's RV service. Every customer seeks a respectable, warm-hearted personality with extensive RV knowledge.
