And to top it off he went above and beyond his call of duty. He drove me to a hotel so I was not stranded in the desert. And we both know he was not required to bring me food and water. Let alone give me a ride to hotel. I would highly recommend 10 out 10 tell I would give him a 12 star rating. He knows what he doing and has a heart of gold. And that not easy to find someone like that anymore. If I ever make it down here again and have issues he on my top list of road side service repairs company. I went to the tool store and bought $200 worth of tools (that I have at home already) about $120 on oil and filters and I was rolling for just "few bucks less" it took me only 1 hrs and save over $1,000 bucks. Located in the Western portion/outskirts of the Las Cruces city limits. The staff is courteous, informative, helpful and friendly as the locals typically are. If no one is in the front then give them a ring. The techs/mechs in the garage won't be able to hear you as machinery and diesel motors are loud. Spot does repairs and sells parts. Not all parts are in stock as they are a garage first. Plenty of parking & easy to spot off the I-10. Safe travelings my friends.

Pro Tech Diesel is run by honest men who easily could have scammed me but didn't. My motor home…read morebroke down in El Paso the day before Thanksgiving 2024. The only towing company that was open at the time suggested I have it towed it to Alpha Auto Repair since it was close to their offices. When I spoke to the manager on the phone, he informed me that the engine had thrown two rods and would need a complete rebuild at a cost of over $9000. After reading some of the online reviews and finding the business has an F rating from the BBB, I found Pro Tech Diesel, which has very good reviews, and called back to have it towed there. I had told the manager at Pro Tech, Ritchie, that I needed a rebuilt engine installed, and he worked with me to get an an order ready for one from Jasper Engines. However, when his guys inspected the motor, they realized that it only needed a new distributor cap, rotor, and wires, and they completed the repair for much less than a rebuild would have cost. I therefore concluded that the Alpha Auto Repair manager was lying to scam me out of $9000, and Ritchie could have scammed me for even more by simply going along with what I'd told him and keeping his mouth shut. But he didn't. He told me the truth. If I ever again need repair work in El Paso on my RV, Pro Tech Diesel is the place.

I paid for a brake system overhaul and an AC belt/tensioner replacement. Within months, both systems failed -- the brakes twice, once resulting in a complete loss of braking on the interstate at the start of a cross-country trip, requiring a tow and missed travel plans. The belt/tensioner job turned out to be a misdiagnosis; the actual problem was a failing water pump. Both times, Big O Tires in Las Cruces correctly diagnosed and repaired the issues, fixing what C&K had charged me for but not resolved. Based on my experience, if you need accurate diagnostics and dependable repair work -- especially on safety-critical systems -- it may be worth the drive to Big O Tires in Las Cruces.
