Had some car trouble and had to arrive a day late for our reservation. They would not shift or shorten, no discount or anything. Beware if you reserve ahead of time. It wasn't very full even. Electric didn't work when we first got there. Dump station was closed. Again no discount or apology. Rushed us out the next day. Rude staff. Never again. read more

A Lane County (OR) Park, we camped at Richardson Park in our Class B RV for two nights in late August, 2024. The campground was about 16 miles outside of Eugene, Oregon. Our site included 30 amp electricity, water, and dump services (not used) for $30/night plus a $10 online reservation fee. A bargain! It included a picnic table and fire ring but Oregon was under a fire ban because of Forest wildfires. The campground has spacious sites that are well-spaced, with trees providing good privacy. Our driveway was extra long and paved. For water enthusiasts, the campground is adjacent to beautiful Fern Ridge Lake. While we weren't boating, we enjoyed walking to the lake and watching the sailboats. We also enjoyed picking, and eating, wild blackberries. The campground was quiet. Park staff were very friendly and helpful. The restrooms were clean. We highly recommend this campground. read more

No Dump Station!! No cell service!! This place just wants to steal your money. That's why you don't see on their website that their dump station is out of service. We found out that it has been out of service since they opened the park and do not plan on ever reopening it back up. There is a sign at the dump station suggesting an alternate place to dump, about 10 miles away at a gas station. Who wants to do that when you paid the campground, plus the hassle of having to maneuver a large RV into a gas station. Plus no cell service. We ended up leaving after the first night, and of course, they kept our fees for the next 2 days. What a rip off. They deserve ZERO stars! read more

I will not ever camp at Richardson's Park campground again.. The older man Camp host that goes around in a cart is a prick and lied to the park, Rangers, that my friend threatened him. He was unfriendly from the get go. One night I had just got out of the shower and was getting dressed and that same camp host came to the door and tried to open it and I said hello and he said, the showers are closed and then he stood right outside the door until I came out. It was only seven minutes after 10.pm which is the time that they close the showers. read more

Very sweet campground. Easy walk to the lake. There are families and dogs and everyone was very respectful of sound and space. We stayed in spot 50 which was wooded and close to the bathrooms, hookups worked great. Seriously no hiccups and it's in such a pretty area! I would come back again for sure. read more

We love this place- so close to Eugene yet feels and smells as if your way out in the forest, far away from it all. Love the privacy and gorgeous trees! The staff has always been wonderful, the store has ice, firewood, small grocery items and bikes for rent. Across the way a park setting for kids and family to play. Access to the lake, more kids play area and a great place to ride bicycles along the water. Summertime when it's busy, it does get a little noisy but for the most part, people respect the 10pm quiet time. What I really appreciate is that each time we go, our firepit is cleaned out- I know staff maintains the sites and for the most part, sites are very clean. What is wrong with campers that they cant clean up after themselves? Always was raised that you leave your area cleaner than how you found it. So disrespectful to leave garbage, food and debris at any facility. It's not that hard to care a little bit about the forest, animals and other people. Ok, I'm done. Richardson Park Campground - Campgrounds Near Me - Junction City, Oregon

This is a very family & RV oriented type of campground. It's primarily for families who have children, boats, RVs, big gas guzzling trucks and other vestigages of the typical Middle America kinds of lifestyle (shopping at Costco, for example). It's a pretty tidy campground - could use more trees, fewer signs about poison oak nailed to the trees that are there. The camp hosts are legion here - and they are all extremely friendly and helpful. I landed here just at sunset on Fourth of July - the campground was packed, but I was able to get a spot in the "hiker/biker" camp area (which would only take 4 tents) despite the fact that I later saw plenty of camp sites that were reserved only for someone's boat/trailer (so a tent area, picnic table & fire pit were just being unused!) Folks stay up late drinking beer and shooting off fireworks, the I think I was the first person up and about except for the janitor at 5:30am the next morning in Campground B. I don't know that I would make this a destination but it would do in a pinch and I imagine that it would be far less crowded off-holiday. The reservoir is big enough that it has multiple marina areas - and they seemed to be having a fireworks showdown which was enjoyable though not spectacular. Great for kids & families! read more

Lovely campground with a variety of sites to choose from. Plenty of pines to provide sufficient privacy. Online reservations are a breeze, though I couldn't find a map to help select one (found one on another website). Camp hosts are welcoming and helpful. Washrooms are immaculate though showers are closed thanks to COVID-19. read more

Really nice campground close to town. Attached park has large day use area with roped off swimming area and beach for kayak launching. There is a very large marina equipped for boats up to 30ft in length. Outdoor movies every week reasonably wheelchair accessible. read more

Not sure how this place could have anything but 5 star reviews. We planned a 3 night trip here and ended up staying 9 nights. We liked it so much we even came back the next weekend. The RV/Tent slips are pretty secluded and surrounded by trees. If you get a slip on the outskirts the brush and trees are so thick you cant even see your neighbors which is so nice for privacy. We came during the offseason, September/October, and it was super quiet and peaceful. I think because of the season there wasn't much activity in general however, it made for a nice quiet trip. I can imagine during the summer the place would be filled with families and people doing lake activities. We can't wait to come try out this site during that time. The park hosts were nothing short of amazing. They were just the sweetest and were super accommodating to us. I love it here and cant wait to come back again and again and again!!! read more

Richardson Park is the official Lane County campground on Fern Ridge reservoir just west of Eugene. I have had the pleasure of visiting this park on 2 separate occasions - once to chill with a friend who was camping here for Oregon Country Fair, and the second time recently with a 5-star group of friends who camp here every year on Labor Day weekend. The camp is divided into 2 areas - camps A and B. One is heavily wooded and sits adjacent to the day use area and Marina right on the reservoir. The other area is set back off the lake amongst sparse evergreen trees but offers more open, flat, grassy greenbelts between campsites. There's not much privacy or shelter in this second area, and it happens to be where I camped this year. The sites cost $20 are long enough to pull about 3 full-size cars into (first car is free, each extra car is $6.50, which I don't get, since I'm renting the space, I should get use of the whole parking slip regardless of whether I have one bog motor home or 3 small cars). The area associated with each site is fairly large. I shared one site with a couple of other large tents, and we were not crammed together in the least. The bathrooms and showers are clean and centrally located. $.50 will get you a nice hot shower for about 7 minutes (I didn't time it, but it was more than ample time for me to wash and warm up). This campground can be said to be good for groups, for sure, bit it's not really picturesque in the least. It's basically grass and trees, and had I not wandered across the road and through the other campground to see the lake, I could just as well have been camping, well, in someone's big grassy backyard. That said, there was plenty of area in which we could set up games like bocce ball, and the 2 horseshoe pits kept many in our group occupied. It's definitely convenient to Fern Ridge, and it's quiet enough, so if your activities take you out to the lake, then you're in good position to capitalize on that. All this said, the campground leaves a bit to be desired. Some more trees, for one, would be nice. There are some campsites that offer nothing but a paved parking space and a fire pit. I'd be pissed if I were in one of those. Also, the 7am cleaning of the bathrooms is really annoying if you're camping anywhere near said bathrooms. And third, the camp host is a little rude. Oh, and it rains on Labor Day at this campground (and supposedly has done so for the past few years as well), so if you're not into wet-camping, this may not be your bag. Use of the reservoir requires a fairly nice day, and if you can't use the lake, there's not much to do in the nearby campground or surrounding areas. Overall, a decent campground. Good thing I was hanging with some cool folks, or I might have decided to spend the second-half of my Labor Day weekend somewhere a bit more dry and a lot more entertaining. read more

We had a great time at Richardson campground. We were driving north on I-5 to Seattle. Tucked off I-5, this campground is on an enormous, beautiful lake with sailboats, fishing, & swimming. The lake is not visible from the campground, but that's because it's tucked in a beautiful forest. We were just passing through for a night, but we ended up renting the camp's surrey (4-5 seater bicycle) and riding around the park, then we had dinner by the lake and the kids swam (water is pretty cloudy). The park staff were nice and helpful. The only downside was that we couldn't spend more time there and we knew we wouldn't be able to come back again. I do recommend a more secluded campsite in Camp A closest to the lake. This is a county park, so there are some interesting camping groups... read more

Pros: -Fairly well maintained grounds, including the campground itself and the marina/park/swimming area -Not too far off I-5 if you're just passing through and need a place to stay -Most people follow the leashed dog rules, which is nice because we have taken our dogs here a few times and don't feel that we need to worry -Kid friendly swimming area -Life jacket borrowing station. Wish every lake had these. Mostly kid sizes, but I have seen a few adult ones Cons: -Parking ticket machine has not worked the 5-6 times we've been here, and they didn't have envelopes available for putting cash in. Twice we've been approached by the employees on golf carts who have been pretty stand-offish about getting parking money. Most of the cars in the lot did not have tickets on their dashes (as there was literally no way to pay), and their only response was "you should have found us". Don't think that's reasonable for $3 worth of parking tickets. If your machine breaks, put out envelopes. If you're not going to do that, then eat the loss or politely ask people to pay as you find them. -If I were camping for more than one night, I'd go somewhere else. You've stayed one night you've experience the full glory of Richardson Park Campground. It's pretty basic. The suburbs of camping. read more

I was definitely not impressed with this camp site. When we arrived it smelled like a sewer and this didn't go away until the next day. There was also ants everywhere in the camp site. I expected bugs but this was over the top. I think the worst part about this campground is the customer service. When we arrived no one was in the booth to welcome us or give us any information. The next day there were multiple staff members going around in golf carts demanding to collect money from people on the spot. Ridiculous considering it was mid day. They also tried to charge us 7.00 for an extra car and 7.00 more for the boat attached on the second car. That doesn't even make sense and I have never heard of a camp group charging for that. A boat is not a car and obviously cannot drive on land. The staff also argued with us, stating this policy and information is listed online, " and $7.00 per extra vehicle" is all it says. I would not go back to this campground. read more

We camped here for one night while on a road trip and had a fine experience. There were plenty of open and available camp sites when we arrived, some more private than others. The people in charge were off duty so we were able to pay by putting our money in an envelope. It was a fair rate, I believe $25. The bathrooms and showers were pretty clean. There were electric hook ups at the camp sites, too. People were respectful and quiet. It was a fine place to camp for a night, but I don't think I could imagine staying any longer than that as there wasn't anything too spectacular or exciting about this place. read more

Great RV spot! Nothing negative to report. Staff was friendly, helpful, and did not intrude whatsoever. Our rate for a back in site was $25 a night with water and 30amp hookup. Our 52' overall length fit easily and we had space on the side for our slideout. We did not need a reservation. No sewer connections at each site but the dump station was 100' away and did not smell. Nice mossy trees everywhere and walking distance to the lake and open grassy areas. read more

I was expecting more from this camp ground. Where I'm at...the traffic from the road is awful. It's so loud. Especially when the truckers come by and use their air brakes. I definitely wouldn't stay in this area again read more

Just like any other concrete site. The playgrounds were just a few rusty swings. The blue-green algae kept us from swimming. Making matters worse our ice chest was stolen in the middle of the night. read more
