They have really friendly staff and we were actually dissapointed that they didn't have anything that we wanted to buy because we would have liked to give them our business. It is conveniently located in Swadlincote and has it's own car park. The store also offers many sales throughout the year which are always prominantly displayed on their window and in the car parks so just by driving past you can see them.

We purchased two leather sofas and a footstool manufactured by Italsofa (Natuzzi) from Roger James Furnishers. Within a matter of weeks the seats on the one sofa that we had been using collapsed (we are not overweight people). We rejected the furniture under the Sale of Goods Act, but Roger James Furishers claimed their only obligation was to offer a repair. We refused this and decided to take court action. After more than two years and 8 court hearings, we were awarded a full refund plus our costs. There were three reports on this furniture, one by the manufaturers' representative and two independent expert reports ordered by the court, all showing that the sofa was faulty. I contacted them to ask if they would be ale to move the recliner chair my Nan purchased from them 11 years ago to another property. They made arrangements and did it the same day. The staff who came out to move the chair were pleasant, polite and very helpful. Nothing was too much trouble. They made no charge for moving the chair, as we had purchased it from them. Brilliant, helpful and friendly service!

An expansive car park opens onto an outdoor area selling compost, which leads into the main entrance where the tills and advice desks are located. This area also has an impressive range of bird food and feeders, as well as an expansive range of seeds and plant food. The main outdoor area is partially covered, with plants that are both reasonably priced and healthy, which cannot be said for all garden centres. There is also quite a variety of specimens, considering the size of the garden centre. At the rear of the main plant area is a sizeable aquatics shop, where you can buy fish, aquatic plants, pond liners etc. Garden King also has a small tearooms/restaurant that sells hot drinks, light bites, as well as hot dinners. It also sells Vancouver Oak Furniture, as well as other assorted items for the home, i.e. mirrors, lamps etc. One last thing you must look out for as you enter the car park are the rather large signs, that have obviously been designed as a homage to Sid James in the Carry-on films!

The staff were really helpful and give us superb advice about plants and even helped us choose what we needed for our garden, they also gave advice of how to plant and where to situate them. All of the plants are reasonably priced and look well taken care of. The plants were brought are still alive and kicking. This is well worth a visit even if its just for an hour out, the centre itself has a couple of inside greenhouses and outside sections. The car park is quite small but adequate for the centre.
