The coaches we've had are wonderful with the kids. The classes include circle time, circuits, and some free play. The ratio is 4:1, but on weekdays there are fewer kids so there is more one on one time. Each class is organized by age, so your child is always with kids their own age. They've recently started terms with six different levels within each age group, however I'm not sure how that will work as our little one is quite advanced compared to some of the other kids in the class. It is a little pricey, however it's structured learning, my little looks forward to going and is turning into quite the little gymnast!

When it comes down to it, the ownership has done a fantastic job making this a fun safe place to learn... but MOST of all by staffing it with caring, wise,genuinely nice people. A lady was here and just lost her phone, there are tons of people here today, yet multiple staff helped look for it l.. and finally found it. I just watched the lady hug the staff member. It's really just a great place to come.

It wasn't as large as I had thought, and maybe there was too much to choose from, but my 4 year old didn't stay engaged in one play area for very long before wandering off to the next There are various play areas - water, ball pit, bounce/ inflatable, playground, etc. and they organize little games throughout the day. The place is fairly clean and well maintained. There is a small cafe with a small seating area They say no outside food and drinks, but it looks like a lot of families packed their own snacks. Free parking in plaza lot. Free wifi. I like the bunch of leftover birthday balloons by the front desk that are free for the kiddos as they leave. Makes going home a little easier.

The upstairs floor is the cardio floor. 12 treadmills, almost as many ellipticals, stairmasters, and rowing machines. Some of the new treadmills and ellipticals have wi-fi so you can watch YouTube or browse just about any site, and has usb ports for your phone. There's a little section at the far end for stretching which includes a weight rack, mats, and several weight machines. One half of the lower floor houses (cable) weight machines for just about any muscle. The other half of the lower floor is free weights. This floor also has a larger section for stretching and mats. The etiquette here leaves something to be desired. Many people don't follow the sign-up policy for the cardio machines but it can work to your advantage if the machines are all taken. Find one that hasn't been signed-up for, write your name on the board, and kick the person off. Every so often there's THAT person who doesn't put the weights away properly by leaving them strewn on the floor or puts them back in the wrong spot. The staff don't really do much of anything, they're like Wal-mart greeters: they say hi when you walk in and that's it (other than changing the towels). It's a clean, well equipped facility that training Olympians use. You can't really argue with that.

Fitness makes people better in all walks of life. + Unlike most gyms, this gym has a fair balance of free weights, machines, cardio machines and stretching/yoga areas. It makes it a whole lot easier to be holistically fit. The staff have helped me with lifting technique when I asked. They also clean the machines frequently, so this place is cleaner than many other gyms. + Access to pool, Olympic sized track and field and gymnasiums. + They have a question and answer board. The star board where you can track your visits and the daily quote are motivational. - It can get extremely busy. I've waited for an average of 20-30 mins for a squat rack on many days. It's usually free early mornings. - They need more squat racks. - They need an Olympic lifting gym. I don't know why we don't have access to or have our own. The athletes have their own Olympic lifting dungeon with bumper plates. - They need to open up the heavy bag room. It's kept locked for athletes only. If they took care of the above minuses, it would be a world class gym.

The parking lot is quite full. There were many classes going on when we were there for an event. Signages are more pictorial rather than in words. There is a swimming pool and gym facilities besides the classes like dance and taekwondo.

Also, the folks at Bonsor can be awkward if you're a woman swimming alone. I've also tried Eileen Pool. Ultimately, I settled on this one because it's newer, more spacious, and forced me to get used to practicing in a pool where I can't touch the floor at all. After a few weeks of regular practice here, I'm no longer anxious when I cross the boundary between the shallow and deep ends (at other pools). As a bonus, I haven't had unsolicited creepy comments from anyone here - they seem to be generally respectful. They also have lockers that you don't need to pay for, nor do you need to bring your own lock. My chlorine sensitivity is usually not triggered by the levels at this pool either. They also have a leisure pool but I find it too warm to swim laps. The one thing to keep in mind is to check the timings when they're operating in a 50 m / 25 m configuration - and whether that overlaps with classes.

They have no…read moreincentive to be helpful for those outside of the competitive path since a lot of parents want their kids to do gymnastics and it makes no difference to Phoenix Gymnastics if those kids have been continually a part of the club or not. No chance for those not already part of the club to get into programs. For those already in the program (as we have been for the last 3 years), if you don't sign up for a class in the first 15 minutes of when registration opens you are out of luck as well. Somehow when registration opens to only those inside the club, there is already 15-20 person waiting list for every class, which shouldn't be possible. In the past, their financial side screwed up and de-registered one of my children by mistake prior to the start without notifying me, and then our family had to change our other activity schedules as a result of their mix-up and they did nothing to rectify their mistake. If you are not trying to push your kid to be competitive (considering Vancouver Phoenix has no outline as to how to be on that path or what skills should be worked on), go somewhere else which your children will enjoy just as much, will be cheaper and will actually care about your involvement.
