Like all libraries these days the card catalog has been upgraded to a computer look up system for ease for all. But what sets it apart is the kind and caring staff, that takes the time to get to know you, offer recommendations and host events. Whether you are a child or an adult, you will find something for you. Not much of a reader? Check out one of their technology classes, holiday parties for kids and families, and free art classes for kids, and also separate art classes for adults. Although the ground floor is small, it holds the adult section only, while the kids room comes alive down stairs. Displays are updated, and activities and fun abound. This library is a true gem in the little town of LeRoy. It has an amazing selection of books, from…read moremystery to series to teen and children's books. There is a large DVD collection with new movies and TV shows added constantly. It is also a very beautiful building that is 90 years old! The architecture really makes this library stand out from others in the area. There are lots of programs going on year-round for adults and children. The staff are really kind and helpful if you need help finding anything or have any questions. It is definitely worth a visit if you're ever in the area.

We'd heard great things from my mother-in-law, but never really thought more about it until she mentioned that they now have a collection of birds eggs and nests (Jimmy's family hobby is birdwatching). We stopped in on the Friday after Thanksgiving, needing to get out of the house. The space is clean and new, bright, and well-lit. The collection seems pretty impressive to me for a small town library. There's a whole children's room, with picture books, juvenile fiction, YA fiction, DVD's and more. They've got crayons and craft tables. They've got a couple of bins full of costumes. They have either white boards or lego boards on the side of each set of shelves, providing additional creative space. They've got a rug with teepee and stools for story time. There are fliers advertising several community activities - craft nights, bedtime stories (come in your pajamas), and even a visit from Santa. We will definitely be back on our future visits!

I'm sorry but you shouldn't be closing the entire community center for, it's supposed to be open to the publi. The worst thing if you're looking to shoot some hoops, we'll forget about that it's closed almost every day for pickleball or some other stuff. again I'm sorry but the whole court should not be closed off to people just wanting to shoot hope everyday. I came from Irondequoit where there gym was open almost everyday, even when they had events they don't close an ENTIRE, huge double gym, they just say "hey stick to the far right corner hoop" "sure no problem" this is absurd, I pay taxes and can't even do something I love because it's closed 99.9999% of the time. Like I said you don't need to close off the entire gym just tell people to keep it to one particular hoop, I don't need the whole gym, I understand there are events and such but you do not need to close an entire gym for those. Regretting moving here but my lease is up in the summer and hopefully I'll be moving elsewhere and checking with the community center first. Irondequoit was far better I could go there everyday and shoot, sure sometimes they would say "hey come back at 7:00" or most of the time "just stick to whatever hoop they're not using" and I would always ask with the people playing if it was okay. The worst part is there isn't even any other courts near hear. Hopefully the director sees this and can change some things.

The library is on the first floor, also completely new space and there's a senior center. All programming and events can be found on the website. The space is beautiful and the staff have been very friendly. Only things missing from this beautiful space is there is no excercise equipment like treadmills or weights for lifting and the gym is so unbelievably hot. They claim there's air conditioning but it feels like it's got to get into the 80s, possibly higher. Everyone despite fitness level is pretty much dripping. It's gross. I hope this do something about the temperature soon. It's open to residents and non residents until labor day with no restrictions, after labor day sounds like for non residents it's $25 for the year to use the facility and for residents it will remain free.

Though the library…read moreitself is rather small, they will quickly get you any books or DVDs from more than a dozen other branches if you request them. Everyone who works at this library is very friendly and they update their Facebook page frequently. They're very in touch with their community and they do a lot of out reach to encourage reading and socialization for local children. There are also always flyers of events going on. I come here at least a couple times a month and I also feel comfortable letting my son play on the reading carpet in the children's area and nursing him in a quiet corner of the library. I don't know what I'd do without this library! I wish that they could get more funding so they could run more programs and do more stuff.
