My husband heard about this place so we stopped for lunch. He had a walleye sandwich and I had a burger. Food was good. We ate outside (dog) so I can't tell you what the inside looked like but I read a sign that said they had remodeled. They had outside benches, out of the sun, where we sat and ate. I've been coming here off and on when I'm in town since 2018, and love this place for some reason, fresh cheese burgers like homemade and he makes his own seasoning salt , I always buy a big bottle to take back to Vegas and everyone loves it there, this place is on my top places to eat, and they have homemade chili too, so good. read more

The food was great. We ate 2 double buffalo bacon cheeseburgers with fries though, it was not what we ordered. What we wanted was to split a basket which comes with 2 burgers and fries with buffalo patties instead of hamburger. We threw enough changes to our order at the 15 year old waitress that she blew it. It was a great burger. P.S. Rick, can you stay in the back somewhere so we don't have to look at your butt crack and bungee cord belt while we are eating. read more

Great food, IMO, amazing food! And at this place, the food speaks volumes, hopefully louder than the atmosphere. Rick is a bit uptight I hear, and you can tell by the numerous signs all over. Stressful bringing kids there for fear of them being "too noisy" etc. But if you want to go somewhat to just to get some great food and don't mind an owner who appears to be grumpy, this is the place to go. *don't wear to much perfume, I think their is still a note up about it...it's very much frowned upon read more

I've been in the Mobridge area all Summer, and wanted to check this place out because the exterior is attractive, well kept and inviting - somewhat of an anomaly in Mobridge. Unfortunately, they close during the afternoons for three hours and because it's East River it closes early by West River time. No big deal, that's fine. When we entered the place the decor was nice, smelled clean and was quite busy. We were, well not really "greeted" but tended to by a really grumpy guy who frankly seemed irritated we were even there. Turns out - it's "Rick" the owner. He literally tossed two menus on the table, never was pleasant or inviting in the least and left. The wait staff was prompt and pleasant, though the vibe from "Rick" was apparent throughout the facility. We commented to each other that it was interesting how a really pretty nice place, with actually decent food could be so negatively influenced by the personality of one person. "Rick" brought the food and dumped it on the table (in the wrong spots for each, which we dared not correct for fear frankly of being yelled at) and I asked for mustard (not on the table) which he also basically dropped on the table without a word. No "enjoy your meal", no "anything else I can get you", just a cranky moody jerk dropping food on the table seemingly trying to erase any good mood that might be around him. My wife had the burger and when she went to put Mustard on it, the entire top blew out and completely covered her burger, the plate, the table and a fair amount on her blouse. We looked around to get someone's attention - "Rick" was sitting at a table talking with someone obviously too cranky to be bothered so my wife got up to go find a waitress. Rick shows up then while my wife is cleaning herself up, obviously pissed off like it's her fault that their mustard bottle was crap as I explained what happened - he starte with "Well...." like it was going to be a problem and that's when I had enough of "Rick" and answered back in an equally hostile tone - "Well WHAT.?!" He left snatching the plate off the table with as much disgust as humanly possible and took it back to the kitchen. No "sorry for that" even though my wife's blouse is permanently stained. In short order, a kitchen staff returned with a good, fresh burger which my wife enjoyed. Because of the "mustard delay" it was on closing time and the vibe was definitely - get out. We paid, and left and it goes without saying there would be no "thanks - come again" or the like. In fact, there were keys in the door and we had to unlock it to let OURSELVES out. We gave it two stars because the food was decent and the staff that worked to make up for their jerk of a boss tried hard. But when the owner of the establishment makes people feel unwelcome and uncomfortable for patronizing his establishment, a two star is generous. We won't be back, because apparently we aren't welcome there. Here's a tip Rick - smile. Be pleasant. Act like the people who come in to give you money for a service are worthwhile. Not everyone who comes into your restaurant is a local and gives 5 stars because they're your neighbor. The Country Kitchen down the street is much more friendly, and has every bit or better food. read more

First time visitor, ordered to go. Semi-pleasant staff, Rick present but not in customer service mode. Average but interesting decor for area. Ordered the Friday night special - ribs, fries, baked beans. After appropriate length of time kitchen staff delivered meal packaged to go. Upon arrival home discovered my Friday special consisted of ribs, fries and the ever so special INVISIBLE baked beans. This was within an hour of closing time and I was the only ordering customer onsite. I have to wonder whether this gross error came from traumatic brain injury preventing staff from recalling components of their regular (Friday) special, or whether they ran out of beans and simply decided to cheat me rather than be honest. Nevertheless I'm truly sorry I tipped and should I ever return for takeout will open and dissect meal while vocalizing my reasons for doing so. Oh - the ribs were ok, good but not that flavorful. Accompanied sauce ok as well, most likely from a can. Fries were the krinklecut frozen bag variety and also the standout of this overpriced $17 "meal."
