I didn't think this would take…read more2 hours,, but the cruise goes at a leisurely pace with pre-recorded audio explaining the history of the city and buildings as we pass by. Informative and interesting. After the city views, the boat continues to cruise around in the lake, which is why this takes 2 hours. We started boarding around 2:30pm for a 3pm cruise. I would get there earlier to park in their lot. You can easily pay with credit card. Parking was around $14 for 2.5 hours. Perfect for a 2 hour cruise with a little buffer if you want to walk in the area for a bit after. The ship has three floors. The main floor you enter on is enclosed and has AC. On a hot afternoon, this was the place to be! Plenty of large windows to see the sights and large tables with chairs. I believe there is a ramp to enter onto the main floor. Making it accessible for wheelchairs too. Kid friendly as well. There is a canteen where you may purchase snacks. They allow you to bring a water bottle, but I believe no food unless you have medical reasons or it is for your child. We all got ice cream to enjoy during the cruise. Restrooms also on this floor. Take the stairs up (a little steep) and you'll be on level 2, which is open air. This floor has front seating, a bar area, and back area with tables and chairs. A nice option for those that want fresh air and prefer to be outside. I believe there is a third floor that is open as well. We did not venture further up as this was perfect. Staff was friendly. We had a 'good time' on the Goodtime 3!

We had our choice of tables out on the patio which were well-frequented on a beautiful day like today. Sunny and warm but not too hot. Umbrellas over the table providing the necessary shade. Being a member, my mom was greeted warmly by staff she knew quite well. We were handed nice menus which offered several decent salads - something that makes my stomach smile. I quickly landed on what I wanted. In theory I was "buying" for belated Mother's Day - but it would go on Mom's bill. I checked out the prices for the salads and they seemed OK - but then again, none included a protein. If I wanted a protein, add $6-7 more dollars to the $14 salad charge. They did offer 1/2 sizes so I expected a large, non-protein salad when I ordered. Mom got a sandwich which came with a side. She ordered fruit but later added fries when she smelled the order brought out to the table near us. I had a Diet Coke and we both drank water. I quickly emptied my soda - and it was NEVER refilled. Big strike in my book. Thinking back, our waters were also never revisited. Oversight or is that just the rule - 1 fill unless you ask for another? Don't know. We were there for an early lunch and were in no rush. Looking back, the food took a reasonable amount of time to come out. Mom's sandwich was "small" but "very good." Most of the fruit cup was melon which she does not eat. So I did. That left 2 grapes and 2 pieces of pineapple for her. She said the fries were very good, too. My salad was fair to smaller size when compared to what I had imagined. It was good tasting but not that filling. I am definitely glad I didn't get the smaller order as that would have been tiny. We finished eating at our leisure and continued to chat. At no time was there a need for us to hurry and there always open tables available. The atmosphere was light and friendly - very casual as I saw people eating after church like we were but also dressed in shorts and t's. Mom comes here often and I was more than happy to join her as it was her pick for her day. I doubt I would revisit a place like this if it were a public restaurant. But back to where I started, I'm just grateful that I have the opportunity to eat here and with my mom.

While EYC seems to capture a lot of attention in this area, Olde River is just charmingly around the corner. It also has the benefit of being one of the only yacht clubs truly against the industrial backdrop of CLE. Its unique in that sense-- the rust belt chic industrial life sits in the background of everything you do there. Factories, big ships, etc. With about 200 slips, vessels of all size can find a home here and they do yearly leases. They have a stunning pool (particularly at night) and nice programming throughout the year, like Cavs watch parties and "Dive-In" showings of newer movies. They also do Adults Only swimming, which is an A+ in my book, and have frequent live musicians, which is pretty rare for Cleveland area clubs. The proximity is super close to Downtown Cleveland, and is hidden away just off the Edgewater exit but near the fishing pier and the park. The restaurant menu is small but mighty with daily specials rotating in and out, and the food is standard yacht club fare (salads, burgers, etc.) Overall, Olde River is a lovely option for boaters young and old as well as new and experienced. The crowd is remarkably diverse and welcoming!

I did my initial open water…read moretraining with them, I've done a series of advanced classes, I bought all my gear from them (at industry-standard prices), and both my kids had classes with them. The people are just awesome - caring, helpful, thoughtful, knowledgeable, and more. Their summer events (DiveFest and underwater pumpkin carving) are a ton of fun. I can't wait to go on a dive trip with them. Special shout out to Elizabeth and Joe who have both worked with me extensively. Everybody there is great, but those two have really made me feel like I'm part of a community.

Even if you are the last one there, you are bound to get a great spot! As soon as we get there my kids go straight to the food, which is ample and a perfect selection for an outdoor gathering. Let's see, they had ribs, hamburgers, vegan-friendly veggie burgers, potato salad, baked beans, brownies, watermelon and the list goes on! I am always impressed with their soda selection! Diet cream soda does it for me every time! They have a nice, manned lake with paddle boats and canoes. There are a few different playgrounds, most of which, are in the shade. They recently added larger-than-life wooden rockers! There is a little area where kids can redeem tickets for prizes. The soft-served ice cream (vegan, by the way!) and cold novelties are always a hit! They provide hayrides which offer great history of the park and family that owns it. You'll see softball fields and many photo opportunities in the gazebo, pavilion and around the lake. The restrooms are very clean! So, go visit this wonderful, scenic, family-owned gem!
