The address took us to the Geneva state park marina, so we walked into their main office to inquire about our jet ski reservation. They told us to go to the first dock. Basically the company can't post signs because it is located in a state park, so that just made it a little tricky to find. We were greeted by a really nice man (I can't remember his name!). We took a temporary boating license exam (Ohio law), which only took like 10 minutes and then we were on the jet ski. He explained to us all of the basic things and what to do in certain situations. My boyfriend had rode a jet ski a few times before so he felt prepared. The one thing that we weren't prepared for was the difference between riding a jet ski on a bay compared to a lake with bigger waves. If you have only rode on a bay before, be prepared for the difference. We had an hour on the jet ski and had a great time. We rented the smallest jet ski that could fit three people and it was great but also was a little hard to control. If we came back, we would go for the bigger one that gives you more control. Overall we had an amazing time! Returning customers get a discount, which is great! If we were visiting Geneva for a longer amount of time we would have definitely gone back.

The entrance is right at the end of an intersection, so traffic can be a pain sometimes, but luckily I live within walking distance! They also have a fishing pier and there's Miller Park right next door with a mini beach and picnic areas. It's a great place to get some fresh (sometimes fishy) air and listen to the Jet Skis zoom by.

The best part is they take you down the river about a 10-minute slow ride which is nice. You get the feel for the jet ski and then they basically say go. I got the run down on what was…read moregoing on and I don't know if they were trying to get out of there, we were the last rental of the day, or what. I followed all of the instructions. (Go to the blue boat and turn around) I did that at 3-4 miles an hour and then I was instructed to do so again and out of frustration I did it a little quicker? Maybe 10mph? I know I was feathering the throttle and not holding it wide open or anything. When I came back the employee was losing his mind. Screaming at me like I did something wrong when all I did was follow instructions. The instructions were "go out to the blue boat and turn around". No one told me to stop there? So I did that AGAIN and they freaked out! I was dumbfounded???? So I carried on as it is a rental and I'm on the clock and headed out to the lake Erie break wall AS INSTRUCTED. After waiting for the attendant for ten minutes I drive the jet ski back in with my 8 year old daughter on the back. About half way back I see the employee waving me in. So I go right up next to his jet ski and hear him on the phone with law enforcement! I stayed very close to him as he told them I was extremely uncooperative! I'm literally right next to him and I have no idea what I've done that was uncooperative? They called the police on me for some reason? I don't know what. I get back to the dock, Park the jet ski and I just want to get out of there. Sincerely I was afraid, what would you call the cops on me? Apparently what they didn't explain is that I had to follow them out on a boat that they would be driving. They said to go to the blue boat and turn around and I did that twice. They didn't tell me to stay there. I'm 42 my hearing isn't the best. If they said that I didn't catch it. If they said they were leading us with a boat I didn't catch it. I thought he'd be following us on a jet ski. I'm obviously not out to break the law with my 8 year old daughter on the back of a jet ski. So I ask for my card and ID and they refused to give it to me. They said "the cops are on the way". So they held my id and card long enough for the cops to arrive. Still at this point I have no idea what I've done wrong. I've never once ever in my life heard of a business that calls the police on their customers. So when the police arrive they are in disbelief of the whole situation. The police officer admitted to me that the man called them. How else would he know they were their way? They denied they called the cops but I still have no idea what I did wrong? When law enforcement arrived I was cooperative, they made sure the employee gave me the owners contact information. If there was something I really did wrong I'm sure they would've told me but this employee could not believe I misunderstood what he said to do and as a result I had to talk to police over it. I called the owner today to try to find a solution. An exchange, a refund or something if that nature and he was very aggressive and uncooperative calling me a nuisance. I didn't appreciate that. I tried to focus on the solution, he was focused on accusatory comments. "He's never seen anything like it" "you were screaming at my employees" well then go ahead and post the video and audio if the situation. It's embarrassing to have the cops called on you, to have my daughter crying thinking her dad is about to get arrested. You should be ashamed of yourself Jonathan who is afraid to give his last name. Two terrible experiences with the marine service and parts department yesterday…read more 1) On Tuesday I called about getting a PWC battery. I was told to call ahead of time so they can add acid and charge up the battery, no problem. I was told the battery was $172 (before taxes, etc). I called the next day to order the battery and when I picked it up I was charged $203 (before taxes, etc.) I told the salesperson that I was told the battery was $172, he didn't care, he charged me $203. 2) They add 3% if you use a credit card, but not if you use a debit card or pay by check. No problem, I get it, but I told them you should let people know ahead of time (I would have brought a debit card), the salesperson said "sometimes" we tell the customer (huh?), the salesperson could care less. The salespeople's attitude was that they didn't care at all that they screwed this customer. I'm afraid they have lost a longtime and repeating (PWC and ski package) customer. Maybe business is so good they don't care about customers.

VIP Treatment with the boat pickup as they were flexible with scheduling, had a congratulations sign, everyone walking on the boat took their shoes off, they consistently offered drinks/restroom, their service guys came out to answer technical questions, and they highlighted critically important parts of the manual so I may quickly revisit for review as a lot of information was covered during pick up. They don't just want to sell you, but they want to make sure you are set up for success, you are safe, and you have an all around great experience on the water and with Buckeye. Customer oriented all around. Would recommend anyone give Buckeye the first stop before looking elsewhere.

Definitely try the hour if you have a friend or two to ride with. The staff was super laid back and friendly, but still serious enough to follow all the necessary water-safety protocols. Now the cherry on top would have to be the view. So peaceful and picturesque once you get out there (I forgot my phone so I don't have a pic to post, just trust me)! It's worth every penny! Get a jet ski on the right day and you can sustain top speeds for a good minute or two before having to turn to stay within the jet-ski boundaries (plenty of water to cruise). I'll definitely make this a to do every time I visit Cedar Point and/or Breakers Resort.
