I didn't want makeup and hair done as I don't wear makeup in real life, so why do it for the shoot? I was so excited when Tina didn't push me to make my shoot fancy. You can collaborate on a private Pinterest board so your inspiration and ideas are in one spot. She has lots of great tips to lead you in preparing for your shoot. Communication was easy whether it was through email that included a bunch of questions or a simple text message asking for feedback or an opinion. As soon as we solidified that we would be using Kat's services I was able to share my pinterest board with her and she continued to check in on what ideas I continued to pin. On the day of our wedding she pulled out a binder full of all the photos I had pinned. I loved that she was always on top of it! I booked Kat with two other photographers for around 8 hours of service. Within my package it also included an extra mini photo shoot. I asked Kat to do a secret boudoir shoot with me and although not part of her normal requests she accepted with ease! She made me feel so comfortable during that shoot and created a small album I was able to gift to my husband on the morning of our wedding! It was incredibly special and made me feel confident and sexy to gift to my husband! On the day of the wedding, all three photographers showed up on time and began shooting in the hotel rooms, capturing the little details of my jewelry and personalized champagne flutes. They captured candid moments between my bridesmaids and I and especially with my mom. My mom is such a strong woman and when she gets emotional it is usually a big deal. Kat and her team did not miss a beat and captured those moments for me to look back on! Throughout the day of our wedding, Kat's team was with us every step making each moment continuously special. They froze on the rocks at Lighthouse Point Beach so my husband and I could capture a unique first look experience. We all may have been cold, but I will NEVER forget the memories of all of us laughing together pushing through the chills (and tears!). During some group shots on the carousel they laughed with us during an injury that happened to one of the horses feet! Complete accident, but made for a story to tell in the long run. The ceremony was captured in just the way I asked including accommodating the hard shot of being behind my mom, step father and I to get the shot before we walked out. The reception photos were endless of our guests and my husband and I interacting with family and friends. They captured such FUN memories and even a romantic moment of my husband and I embraced in the love of the day slow dancing with everyone else on the dance floor. Not to mention there may have been a lift or two throughout some of the song choices! By the end of the night I asked what Kat and her team what they were still doing there and they said they were having so much fun! It truly made my night! To this day, Kat still answers my texts and will send any requests I may have whether it's a photo turned from black and white back to color or just simply a quick edit. I'm not what you would call a "girlie girl," so the idea of picking out outfits and posing for photos was completely new and a bit scary for me. We started with a phone call and Michael did a great job of walking me through outfit choices and suggestions. The day of, I met him at his studio. He was absolutely delightful. Professional, respectful, funny, calming, and flattering, the perfect combination to calm you down and make you feel good about yourself. He knew exactly what to say to help me relax and get the shot. What I loved most was the process. Due to the way the studio is set up, we could take a series of photos, then go and sit down and take a look at the photos. This allowed for us to discuss lighting, colors, and positioning. Before taking another series. After I choose the photos I was happy with, Michael "finalized them" with some minor edits and emailed me the final photos. It was time for me to get some corporate headshots and my employer was not about to spend any money in hiring a professional for me. I decided I owed it to myself to put my best face forward. I searched for portrait photographers with a studio in Springfield, and Michael Epaul came up. First, I will say, that this trend of photographers not having a studio baffles me. I would never consider someone a professional if they did not have a professional work space! That being said, Michael Epaul Photography has a gorgeous, cozy studio, so you don't have to worry about a setting. For the ladies, or anyone interested, hair & makeup can be added to your session. This worked out well because it took the pressure off me of having to arrive at the studio in perfect condition. And then the headshots began. From start to finish, the process was streamlined. Prompt communication via text and/or email worked very well. I was given about 20 pictures to choose from; I picked one and was given 2 versions of it. And don't tell anyone, but....Michael was able to ahem....touch up things about me in a natural way (aka he took away the 10 lbs the camera adds). Overall, very satisfied with this portrait session and look forward to doing business with this photographer in the future. NOTE: on site parking, accepts credit cards, and photographer does more than just portraits (weddings mitzvahs and more!)
