I booked a one hour ride with Randy for myself, my two daughters and my two grandchildren. We ranged in age from 64 to 1 1/2 and a great time was had by everybody. Randy was Very good with the children and really made sure we enjoyed ourselves. We had 5 Adults and the 2 Children under 3 and there was plenty of room for more. The Alligators were trying to hide but Randy managed to find a couple of Big ones plus all kinds of birds for us to see in their natural environment. Best time you can have in South Florida. Been to the Everglades many times but never like this. Took my relatives from France & Ecuador and we had the BEST time with the wind in our face winding through the Sawgrass. Getting closer to the birds and the Gators was awesome! Awful Customer Service!!! Our one hour private airboat tour was canceled the night before due to weather (cancelled on 5/20/2018). Captain Randy told us that we would be refunded 100% within 24 hours (as is stated in their policy on their website). I waited 7 business days to see if a refund would show up on my credit card statement. No refund. I call him to ask if the refund process had even been started. He informed me that he had a death in the family and would get to it the next day. I waited another 7 business days. No refund to my account. I call him once again (this was yesterday) and he states that he's sorry and that "his problems should not be my problems" and that he would refund the money that evening and I would get a confirmation email showing the refund to my account. Well, what do you know....no confirmation email. I text him today, email the company and call him. Nothing in return. I've been more than patient with him regarding this whole ordeal (it has been 18 days since he first said I would be refunded) and now he's being shady and not contacting me at all. I wish I could be able to comment on his airboat tours and not his customer service, but the way he deals with his customers is not okay (especially when he owes them $312.70).read less read more

We had high expectations when we booked this airboat ride based on other reviews. Overall, what we got was not what we expected. First, we thought we were paying for a semi-private tour, and even confirmed the price ahead of time with Randy. However, when we got the receipt, we learned that Randy charged us $140 more than we thought we were going to pay ($480 for 4 people when we expected to be charged $85 per person--even for our young daughter). We did not "drive the boat" as advertised, and Randy honestly spent more talking about his family than the Everglades. We actually learned very little about the Everglades on this ride. When we brought this charge discrepancy to Randy's attention the following day, his communication was minimal (he did not return phone calls or respond to email) to resolve this. This was very disappointing; he even took a phone call during the tour to book another group. There is another group not far from the boat dock that Randy launches from; I would highly recommend NOT using Ride the Wind and use someone else. Definitely not a $500 experience! read more
