There's now a cement walkway all the way down through the park, plus more covered areas and trash cans than before. I wish they had kept more of the grass because it seems harsh for 99% of the park to be gravel and sand. It's also disappointing they got rid of the wooden play structure by the grassy area, but they kept the platform by one of the entrances.

We ran on the trails abutting the space for practice and had fun spotting the occasional grazing deer or scurrying chickaree (North American red squirrel). We all wanted the meadow to stay or go a more nature way, however urban development/urban sprawl quickly ensued and in a few years the meadow was replaced with an off-leash dog park. The track and field at Shoreline Community College I used for walking when earning my associate degree there (graduated June 2010), however that space now serves as a parking lot for the college. Hence, if one wants a flattened area for walking near the college, the dog park is conveniently located neighboring the campus. On a side of the off-leash area towards the trail system of Shoreview Park, Hidden Lake, and Boeing Creek Park is an entrance with rules posted and park closing time of day communicated (at dusk), as of Thursday 7 September 2023. I used to walk dog(s) down by Hidden Lake, we enjoyed watching the ducks swimming in the lake. However, in the past couple years the lake has been filled in, hence no more watching the ducks in the lake. Sad that more and more space is being taken away from the wildlife, but it is just the way of the city these days.

Things to do near Seattle…read more Richmond Beach Saltwater Park is a popular spot for walking, hiking, tide pooling (best at low tide) and wildlife viewing with views of the Olympic Mountains. It is generally not ideal for swimming since the water in Puget Sound remains consistently ice-cold year-round. There's also shore crabs, hermit crabs, sea anemones, barnacles, sea cucumbers, and sea slugs. It's a 40-acre park on Puget Sound. There are no lifeguards on site. There's a footbridge crossing railroad tracks to reach the beach. The park is dog-friendly and offers both upper bluff and lower beach areas, some rocky with large cobble on the north side. There is parking available ( the one closest to beach fills up fast) with 2 other free upper parking lots. Restrooms are available.

I went during one of the lowest tides of the year, and I saw a lot of sea life. I saw sea cucumbers, sea stars, fish, countless sea anemones, etc. On the walk back, I even saw a ginormous moon snail. There were incredible views of the water and sand. It's super refreshing to relax here. Do note that you have to climb a fenced overpass across some railroad tracks, so if you're nervous about heights, don't look down! The washrooms here weren't well stocked with soap when I visited, but it might be because of the sheer volume of visitors. Multiple car parks were full. It's great to see that everyone is so interested in nature!

I live far where I have to take a ferry across the water to get to seattle/everrett area. Unfortunately because of the ferry system and events occurring downtown the boats were over an hour late. With this location I had initially put a request to drop off my dog at 3pm Saturday and pickup Sunday afternoon. But due to the ferry system I was very late but luckily The company was very accommodating and were understanding of the traffic situations I sadly didn't reach the location until 8pm, happily They have someone at the location 24/7 to watch all the pups and help take my dog in for the night. They keep you updated with texts and photos of your doggy so you know they are safe and even have a live cam you can monitor your dog with. He received spoiled treats and a lot of exercise and socialization. He could play all day. Picking him up was smooth as well. They gave me a update of his night He passed out on the way home tail still wagging. Picking him up he looked happy and excited 10/10 would recommend and go again
