Great place to hike with kids. Loved walking next to the creek and it was very peaceful. There's a paved road, so it's stroller friendly, but you do have to watch out for occasional cars and bikers.

I've been wanting to visit here since I moved back east and why not on my birthday! Plenty of parking and decent trails. We couldn't see the mansion as there was a wedding that day. Beautiful grounds and a peaceful respite from the city. I'll be back to explore more.

I've been coming here for years and it is awesome! There is a large variety of hiking trails, but my favorite is one that is further down along the river. It has a beautiful view and lookouts to see small waterfalls. The trails are marked clearly and it is a great place to bring kids! You could spend the whole day walking along the trails if the weather is nice. There are also benches for picnics. I never get tired of hiking here.

We were in town traveling over a weekend so we decided to go on a hike in the area. We spent a couple of hours exploring this park. I don't remember the trails we did, but we parked by bathrooms and then I think we did the white trail, but that could be wrong. It was a nice little hike. We went along the river with a couple of good view points. At the end we walked down to a little waterfall before turning around to come back. It was a pretty easy walk, not very long and not many hills, but nice nonetheless. It's a good place to spend a few hours exploring.

Amazing park that has plenty of hills and stunning scenery. The trails are abundant and range in incline. It also seems to be a good fly fishing spot from all the fishermen I see there. I'm still amazed that I only live 17 miles away and it's like I'm transported to another world when I get there.

Lovely trails and beautiful walking scenic routes. A breathe of fresh air if you're in the area and wanting to go on a walk or hike. There are plenty of roads to run/walk if you want to avoid uneven terrain, though we usually like to take a walk through the woods to enjoy the views.

Lucky to have this state park practically in our back yard. We frequent this park to hike, explore nature and relax. Recently we tried a new trail and had a wilderness scavenger hunt (perfect activity to incorporate into our hike). The trails are very clearly marked, especially when walking for hours. We never felt lost and thoroughly enjoyed the creek, the peace and quiet of being submersed in nature plus the critters we came across (chipmunk, deer, etc). Highly recommend for a day trip or relaxing hike. There's a paved portion too for bike riding or running/ walking. Some of the parking areas have huge pot holes and divots, so be careful when finding a trail or spot to park driving into Ridley Creek.

Great place! Needs more trail maintenance though. Mom cut her leg on fallen limbs left on the Blue Trail. Been there for 3 weeks. See photo

I had no idea this park existed until I was directed here. It's pretty easy to get to, and there's ample parking. The grounds are peaceful, and there's a horse farm practically connected to it. There's plenty of paved trails for bicyclists and walkers, and the grass is cut low enough in many places if you decide to go "off-road". Hungry? Bring a picnic lunch and take advantage of one of the many tables here and there. Those planning fancy events (banquets, weddings) should call to see if the mansion there - and gardens! - would be a fit.

A true gem in Delaware County/Edgemont. There are horse stables, plenty of picnic areas, gorgeous trails and lots to see/do. The land was purchased by a horse breeder in the 50s/60s. Their mansion and surrounding area is the highlight of the park. Both paved and unpaved trails are waiting to be explored. I was there early Saturday, the parking lot was busy, but once on the trails, I was all by myself with the beauty surrounding me. I came across the remnants of a greenhouse which was real cool. A birdwatchers paradise.

I was quite surprised with the level of intensity this hike had. There are multiple terrain and altitude changes which lead you through open space, over small bodies of water, near Ridley Creek, and through the woods. You enter the park near the Horse Stables and park by the Park Office. There were many hikers and their pets enjoying the park while snow fell. I'm officially not the only crazy one who hikes as it snows. There are bathrooms along various trails but I would recommend using the ones near the Park Office if you decide to hike the White Trail; it's one of the longer trails. Many trails run into one another for a bit and then branch off into their own again. They even have trails that have multiple purposes. That means those trails are for Hiking, Biking, Driving and Running. Thankfully all trails are tagged to help ease your sense of being lost.

There is a lot of large equipment, but not a whole lot of variety or imagination in the different interactive functions. Reeves Park's playground (Phoenixville), Smith Memorial Playground (Fairmount Park), Freedom Playground (Haverford), and Aston Twp's new playground all have really imaginitive stuff, and just as large of an expanse (if not larger). I also have to give props to the Reeves Park and Freedom playgrounds for being fenced in (Smith is, but it's so big, the fence is not as containing as it could be). Kids Dream is not fenced, unfortunately, because it is a layer of safety I always appreciate, for young kids who run, and also just to keep out wandering dogs (the ones on a long leash whose caretakers aren't paying attention) or to dissuade sketchy people from hanging around (sorry but they're everywhere). There is a nearby walking trail, and it's also adjacent to township offices (shared parking lot). I do have to comment that there was a bit of litter generally around, which is never okay for a kids' playground. Also, this playground is pretty crowded. Parents seemed adequately considerate, but honestly, all the abovementioned playgrounds had a better vibe to me. Maybe because this place was built up by my recommendation and the reviews, but it wasn't as great as my expectations (and comparative experiences).

Though we were nervous at first about there being one exclusive caterer and an assigned day-of coordinator, everything turned out wonderfully. The Space: The Willows is simply a gorgeous setting at every turn - each room, the landscaping, the grounds. Thankfully we were able to pull off Plan A, getting married in the courtyard, but it was extremely important to us that the backup plan be just as beautiful, and it is! Though we're grateful we didn't have to use it for the ceremony, the Solarium being empty meant we were able to get ready there with tons of natural light and beautiful tile. I loved the variety of spaces we were able to use for portraits and family photos. The views, and the drive in, really set the tone. The Food: Food was my wife's number one most important line item when it came to our wedding, especially having been served less than ideal meals as vendors and seeing the same things over and over. Multiple reviews of Peachtree told us what we needed to know, and we were confident about the menu options. During the tasting, we were a little thrown off because there weren't many items that we loved, but our coordinator reminded us that they're choosing things to present that you wouldn't have necessarily chosen on your own. Our wedding day food was truly unreal, hands down the best wedding food I've had. All our guests were RAVING about it, too. The Staff: We can't say enough good things about the staff at Peachtree/the Willows. We got so lucky to have the team we did, who told us repeatedly that we had amazing guests and the vibes were high. Namely, George, Karen, and Steph made our big day possible. At the end of the night, our hotel shuttle forgot about us, so my wife and I also were able to chat more with the staff, and they genuinely all seemed so happy to be with us. This was absolutely a highlight of our day. We couldn't be more grateful to have found the Willows!

The paths are mostly all neatly trimmed in the warm months, with fresh mulch on the walkways. Some of the paths weren't trimmed recently, and it limited our walk because of ticks and possible poison ivy. But the ones under the majestic tall pines looked beautiful, and were very pleasant to walk. In the winter, these are great exercise in the snow (x-country skiing, snowshoeing or walking in some good boots). The entrance to the Upper Providence Park area is directly across from Rosemary Lane, off N. Ridley Creek Rd (the stretch between Rose Tree Rd and Kirk Lane). The areas near the creek get very muddy, so I don't recommend for certain dogs, or very young children. If you come prepared for mud you'll be fine. There are some neat cinder-blocks sunk into the swamp to make a stepping path across it to the solid ground on the other side (however, this area gets muddy often, so mud shoes would be recommended). The trails connect to the neighboring Louis W. Scott Memorial Park, and I am not sure if they are maintained by the same group(s) or not? The Louis W. Scott Memorial Park is an open field, with the ruins of a stone building beside it. The stone area seems to attract litterers, which is not pretty, and not sanitary or safe for children or dogs. Wish they kept that up better, but elsewhere it is clean and well-kept.
