That is I had a lot to drink, so you may want to consider this when reading this review. 2. The food was delicious, and there was a lot of it. I felt like dishes just kept and coming and some of them larger than I expected. And just when you thought it was over, an incredible cheese cart comes out. 3. I was stuffed to the point I was a bit uncomfortable. My own fault, but just keep this in mind because there is a lot food and you definitely want to have room when the cheese cart comes out. The highlight of this meal is the cheese cart, so if you love cheese, this is heaven. And even better, the waiter serving the cheese is so excited about it that it makes you excited. The food throughout the champagne region is France is incredible and this was another exceptional meal.

A large carte is rolled to the table showcasing at least twenty-five or more regional cheeses. The enthusiastic cheese man described in great detail each of the cheeses and when we would choose one, he would become animated with excitement as he gave more descriptions. The cheeses were so delicious that we all agreed that a great meal could be made with a bottle of wine and that cheese carte. Alas, that is not an option. There are three different prix fixe menus to choose from, however, and they all include cheese. Reservations a MIUST! Bon apetite!

My vegetarian had a a sweet potato bake that she thought was decent. My veggie burger was underwhelming- the patty was super thin and lacked a clear flavor or texture. The egg on top was perfectly cooked, however. Service was normal for Paris, quiet place. For a vegetarian party this is probably not a bad option - not so many pure vegetarian options in Paris.

A few other parties trickled in through the course of our meal. The menu has many appealing dishes but after narrowing everything down, GF ordered the onion soup and seitan bourguignon. I ordered a vegan "roast" with the side of potatoes. I'm not going to bullshit you, nobody is going to confuse this onion soup for the real deal but once you get past that, it was absolutely excellent. You're hearing this from someone who doesn't like onions or beef broth. I wanted to just try it but ended up funneling half of it down my gullet. The roast was pretty good, as were the potatoes and what I assume was a creamy cauliflower "salad" like side. It was nothing earth shattering but enjoyable and I really appreciated having a vegan meal considering the vast majority of the offerings in this city. Regarding the beef bourguignon, GF says: "it was very tasty". I will add that the service was...just ok. It was pretty quick and prompt but in stark contrast to the welcoming and friendly service received elsewhere in the city.

My girlfriend went with the steak and I had the vegetarian option which was lentils, couscous, potatoes, mushrooms and a green salad. The steak was cooked a perfect medium rare. French bistros are certainly not known for their vegetarian/vegan options but I was totally blown away by my meal. Can't say enough about the service as a single server was not only handling an entire restaurant but she was singlehandedly providing better service than most restaurant's entire staff. The cosy atmosphere and a perfect red wine recommedation made for an incredibly memorable Parisian dining experience.
