Gave us a ballpark figure that day but said would give us a better answer after we got back from vacation. Meanwhile I had the same meeting with 2 other contractors. Both of them were able to give me layouts and detailed plans and pricing of the work to be done before the end of my vacation. Greg wanted to meet in person to go over this but did give me some numbers over the phone. That's when I discovered he had planned an extra 200 sq ft more than the others. Plus some of the numbers he gave us were $10,000 for a kitchenette of 7 cabinets and $6K for a bathroom(small 52 sq ft that we were providing cabinets, shower, toilet and sink for. He never gave us a plan and the plan he did show me when he came out to discuss price was wrong and needed to be adjusted.I think he was worried I would take said plan and give it to another builder to do. At least that is the feeling he gave me when I pressed about it a little. Granted our timeline changed when we needed this done from summer to fall. He said he couldn't give us a price because the cost of materials will change so he gave us a price of 54-58K on a roughly 675 sq ft remodel with a bedroom, egress window, and bathroom that's with us supplying a lot of materials. The other 2 quotes came within 2K of each other and were coming in at 42K to 44K. I think Greg only gave us that price because he really didn't want the job and get into the details of the project. I can't speak for the quality of his work but the process I did experience was not one I would recommend if you like knowing details.

He helped with my plans & saved me costs, when he told me that my 16" OC ideas were wrong & 24" OC was fine for my project. He saved me $300.00 I really didn't have on a S.S. Income. He made the trusses the next day . Then the owner (Roger) specially delivered them that Good Friday (the business was closed for Easter Weekend) , As I had a crew of helpers coming the next day to stand the walls. We were able to get my garage dried in that Saturday because of this company & their commitment to their customers. He found more damage underneath the threshold of one doorway -- probably shoddy original construction-- so applied his carpentry experience to repair/ replace the parts even though it was not part of the original plans. He even drove home to get additional supplies. He took the time to make it look nice and more importantly prevent future damage. He is very careful in the house and cleans up thoroughly.
