This is a late review but better late than never. When the…read morecountry started to shut down the company I work for set us up to work from home. After looking through the windows of my house for about 3 weeks I decided I wanted new windows. I called several companies. The last one (there were 4) to show up was Maris. The salesman walked the perimeter of my house like all the rest. The salesman spoke outside like all the rest. The salesman arrived on time like all the rest. What made him different is that instead of selling me some windows he sold me a gutter. He mentioned that my right gutter looked bad...asked if I got water in my basement at all and then told me that it might be wiser to get new gutters than windows. I was sad and didn't have the money to get a ton of windows and knew that I probably didn't have the money for 2 gutters. Not a problem. They worked with me. Sadly, the salesperson whose name escapes me was super nice and understanding. When the installers came to do the work they were very fast and tidy. They were super polite. Maris EVEN sent people to fix a spot that leaked on part of the other gutter. NICE company. Why the 4 out of 5 then? Well, I wasn't called as to when the installers were coming. It would have been nice to know that rather than them just show up. Would I recommend and use Maris again? ABSOLUTELY!!!

This is the fine craftsmanship of a Maris Home Improvements window install in the pictures attached.read more

He kept telling us he was going to come, but never showed up. Every time he told us he would be there I had to move my patio furniture inside my basement along with all of my potted plants. I moved everything a total of three times before he finally showed up. When our management company called him and asked him why he wasn't coming. He said it was because he ran out of money and had to wait till he got paid on another job. The job was finished around the end of September. It is now January 26 and I looked out on my patio after I shoveled snow off of it and there's a 4 foot hairline crack all the way across it. For all I know there are cracks in other places also but I can't tell because there's so much snow packed on the concrete right now. When I texted him to let him know what had happened he said that could happen and not to worry because there's a mesh holding it together. From everything I read online the concrete had too much water in it when they poured it and that's why it cracked. He never offered to repair it and there is no warranty. I also asked for a lien waiver, which took him three months to get to me because he said his wife got rid of his printer. Will never use this company again. Tammy P.

We had a need for the project to be completed in a very short window (less than 6 weeks) from the day of the quote. The owner said they could make it happen. Other places we contacted couldn't even start within 6 weeks, let along finish. The work crew was amazing and efficient. Overall our experience was without hassle and done 2 weeks ahead of time of our deadline. I highly recommend.

Instead asked some questions and ran with part of my answer and just gave us a quote for that project instead of the one we described. He wanted to do a bigger project, so asked questions to that end because apparently fixing my small deck wasn't worth it for them. I don't know if his pricing was fair because the other company came out and actually listened to what we wanted and then gave us an estimate for exactly what we wanted. I asked if the wood on our deck could be saved. Immediate no (even though he said current store wood is worse quality than when this deck was built as a means to emphasize the benefits of composite at an earlier point in the convo). Made me feel guilty for being honest that we would be getting a couple of bids to compare. I was being honest to say that we were trying to do due diligence. His attitude changed and he emphasized at multiple points after that the free work he was doing by giving me an estimate. Their business model is to come into your home and provide pictures and product samples and then write up the quote then and there. I just wanted a guy to come out, look, and email me the quote. Instead it was a lengthy process . Seemed like an old-style sales approach. Also, they wanted both owners to be home and he seemed annoyed that it was just me...but we literally just wanted a quote, so no my spouse was not going to take off work for an estimate. Overall just weird energy and a strange experience! And I've had plenty of bids/estimates for projects around the house including, house painting, fence installation, deck repair, etc. Tl;dr - didn't listen to what we wanted. Up-sold. Appointment took forever. Not a good vibe.
