I asked about this (after I had already paid) and was told "our website is out of date" and blamed it on the inaction of some external website creator/manager. In a subsequent e-mail I was told that the $125 personal/$150 business rate had been "around for years". So either this is a lie or they have not updated the website "for years", which is false advertising over the course of years; 2) The rate I was quoted was "$125 for personal, $150 for business". Most people would think this means if you only submit personal documents you pay the $125 and if you have personal business documents (sole proprietorship) as well you pay the $150. After all, the result is only one tax return in both cases. The personal business piece has a couple of extra pieces of paperwork to fill out, hence the extra $25, right? Nope. You pay BOTH the $125 AND the $150 for a single return. Does that single return take more than twice as long as a personal return? Not remotely. Perhaps if I had arrived with a box full of receipts and said 'sort this out', but that's not the case. There were about a dozen extra numbers already calculated by me that had to be entered into three tables on the forms and that's it. I know because a) I've done my own taxes numerous times; and b) I can see those three tables on my copy of the return paperwork. Deceptive business practises and zero attempt to resolve issue with customer. Stay away from this place.

I've been newly introduced to this company and I was really glad what I experienced. I think a lot of people who have poor experiences was from a couple years ago and a lot may have changed. I also find that people may fault a local business for what a warranty or third party may be the original source of frustration. Give Smith's a try yourself before coming to a decision. I was very happy with what I've seen at this location.
