While Kristy's online work looks lovely, we were disappointed by Kristy's last-minute cancellation of our photo shoot as well as by her lack of communication and seeming indifference. We contacted Kristy, selected a package, confirmed a photo shoot date, and excitedly anticipated the experience. She canceled within 24 hours of the shoot with minimal follow-up, leaving us high and dry without professional photography for our event. While 98% of my reviews on Yelp are positive, unfortunately, our experience with Riley Cooper Photography and Kristy left something to be desired. Let's just say if you want your appointments to be reschedule, canceled, or lose money then book Kristy. I scheduled an apt with Kristy and life and unfortunate events happened that I could no longer book maternity photos. I messaged Kristy 2 weeks after booking that I couldn't do my maternity photos and would like a refund as I had already paid for half of the session. Kristy was extremely rude and said she couldn't do that. My session was booked for 2 months out. She was very rude and unprofessional in her messages not willing to understand the circumstances I was facing. After talking to my sister who had previously booked Kristy , I learned that she canceled on her multiple times and then doubled booked her family session. My sisters experience with Kristy was negative from start to finish. My sister said Kristy brought clothes for her infant that were dirty and Kristy herself looked unkept. Kristy is a poor business person and makes many excuses for herself , but when a customer has medical and financially issues and responsibly cancels 2 months in advance, she cannot and will not understand and will keep your money. Kristy is constantly posting her personal issues on her Instagram and rescheduling clients for the public to see that she double booked. I found Kristy on the Facebook mom group. Initially I inquired about a photoshoot for a large group of 10 adults and 4 children but she said she usually takes pictures for smaller groups so I signed up for the cake smash session for my family of 2 adults and 2 children (1 and 2 years old). She charged me $400 (her usual package is $350 but I wanted more family shots versus the baby alone). I get 15 pictures. It takes 30 days to get the final prints. The session was about 1 hours and 15 minutes because the baby was not happy during the shoot. The positive comments I have about Kristy is that she replies really fast and straight to the point . The negative comments are: -I'm not sure how to categorize this. I asked to move the session earlier. Initially she said the cake would not be ready. Then she said the cake was ready 2 days earlier but she had things to do with her kids. -in the beginning of the session, I asked to use the bathroom. She told me to somewhere around the corner and didn't mention anything about the keys. I couldn't find the bathroom she mentioned. Then at the end of the session, she gave me the keys to the bathroom that was only a few steps away. Why didn't she tell me about that bathroom earlier ? -during the session, my 1 year old had the most terrifying time. He didn't like the to pose. He cried so much. Whoever is reading this probably think that it's the baby's fault. However, I would expect a photographer that specializes in 1 birthday cake smash would have some skills to calm the baby down. And I have worked with 3 other photographers for my 1 and 2 years old and my kids had a much better time with the other 3 photographers -during the session, she was on her phone a lot. My family and I did not feel that her attention was 100% into the session. -most importantly, the pictures turned out to be mediocre. This was the most expensive photoshoots but lowest quality compared to the other photographers that I worked with (for baby pictures). To summarize, I will NOT recommend Kristy to my friends or family. read more

Kristy did an amazing job with our mini family photo session. It was super quick and easy considering my 2 year old has a very short attention span. What I appreciated the most was the turn around time. I was hoping to get our pictures back in time to send out holiday cards but knew that it might not be a realistic expectation given how late I booked my appointment and how busy it is right now. But she had the proofs ready to go in no time and once I selected my pictures she had the final edited high resolution pictures done in just a couple days. We used RCP for both our maternity and newborn shoots. All photos came out beautiful, and Kristy was personable and professional, and made us feel comfortable. She was patient with our newborn and had many techniques to help soothe him during our time with her. She even changed his diaper! Kristy was open to our ideas, did her best to accommodate, and the photos came out amazing in the end. It took a bit longer than expected to receive final proofs, but Kristy was open and honest in her communication and explained the delay professionally. Then I came across Kristy's images of her little one's milestones... needless to say, I fell in love with her images! I contacted her right away, she was quick to reply and answered all my questions. And we began our 1 year journey together. (I loved her work so much we got a 1 year session for our god daughter as well) Her work is beautiful. She's really pleasant to work with, she's friendly and the patience she had with Elena was pretty remarkable. We recently finished our 4th and last milestone session. Kristy was our wedding photographer in 2021 and we got some very nice photos from our special day. She uploaded our photos into an online gallery about 4 months after our wedding. I wanted prints to share with my family and we ordered a lot of them, about $400-$500 worth. When we received the prints in the mail, they were mediocre at best. We asked Kristy for a refund and she wouldn't give us the refund. I spoke to her on the phone and she promised she would replace the prints with better ones from a local photo shop. She also promised to make the photos that were out of focus and dark better and do this for us free of charge. Kristy never followed through with her promise and didn't give us a refund. We are getting prints elsewhere. She strung us along for almost a year. I DO NOT recommend Kristy for weddings. I can't speak to her maternity photo work. Looking back, I would have picked someone else for our wedding in a heartbeat knowing what I know now. The bottom line: she doesn't follow through with correcting her mistakes and is unwilling to give refunds that are clearly justified. read more
