The moment I put my information on the website requesting for information they reached out maybe 30 mins to an hour later. They were very supportive in my goals and very helpful. It was a very smooth and personal process when contacted by them. The day of my class I was sent a video from one of the ladies explaining where they are located and even where to park. This made the process easy and it also helped take away any nerves or jitters that I had following up to the class. The gentlemen that I first spoke to gave me a free t-shirt and a tour of the facility. People when I say the gym is clean I mean it is clean you can tell that the owner takes pride in the cleanliness of the gym and that the employees take it very series. This is for sure one of Asheville's top facilities that house Jiu-jitsu and it shows the moment you step into the door. Better yet it shows the moment you reach out for information. With all that said ultimately I did not sign up. The reason for this is that I could not justify or afford their prices. This is also why I gave 4 stars. The gym was everything I was looking for and more but the prices were not. However I will say that it is kind of one of those "you get what you pay for" situations. I can absolutely see the price point because like I said it is for sure one of Asheville's top tier facilities. It was just not what I was ready to sign up for financially. I will add also that it has been a little less than a week after turning them down and I have not been hounded with phone calls or text. That is a good thing to me because normally gyms will not leave you alone after turning them down. I am looking to join something like this for a weight loss journey with no interest in earning any type of belt. You can tell that this gym would absolutely put you on the path to become excellent at the sport. I in no way regret going and checking it out. I do not feel as if I wasted my time. It is a great, all over workout, which was exactly what I was looking for. You decide on how hard you want to work out. Plus, the range of the moves you learn work out most of your muscles. The instructor is very motivating and knows what he is doing. It is a fun class and over before you know it. The group is made up of different ages, men and women, and they are fun to work out with. The groups are small so you get your personal time with the instructor. He helps you perfect the moves and motivates you to keep going. I am not going to lie to you, it is a little more expensive than your 'run of the mill' gym membership but how many of those gyms make you pay 8 times more for a personal trainer? Yeah, I'm pretty sure all of them. You definitely get what you pay for here, probably even more!

All of the coaches are knowledgeable, patient, and take the time to ensure everyone understands the techniques and performs them correctly. While the academy offers a women's kickboxing class, I personally prefer the regular Muay Thai classes and have always felt safe, comfortable, and respected as a woman training there. The men are respectful, supportive, and great training partners. Beyond the excellent instruction, the sense of community is what truly sets this gym apart.
