If you're hiking your legs should be ready to handle the steep steps in this area, built on the hillside. But the views are definitely worth it- overlooking the beaches of Leblon and Ipanema. They do barbecues every Saturday and seem very friendly. The two ladies seem to have a system down, one works the grill and other stations the bar. Barbecue meats include, steak, sausage and chicken, with sides of seasoned potatoes, white rice, garlic bread and salsa of tomato and red onion. Drinks included three types of local canned beer (Antarctica, Brahma, Itaipava) $3R and tall, sweet caipirinhas (traditional or abacaxi) $5R. Complete with loud iPod streamed music, a cold fridge, outdoor patio with view and even a tiny bathroom around the back, this place has the essentials for a good party.

Two restaurants - Canto and Shiso. Both were very good. We ate at the hotel several times for the convenience. The Grand Lounge is well appointed with evening cocktails / snacks and a good breakfast spread. Front desk staff was very friendly and accommodating - especially Maria Alicia who helped me several times during my stay Highly recommended!!.

We also enjoyed the hotel activities such as the cocktail class as well as the sushi making class. The resort is 45 minutes away from the main attractions of Rio, but well worth it. We will definitely come back the next time we visit Brazil.

The view is spectacular! You get a 360 of Rio at it's finest. You can see Ipanema, the dois irmaos, the lagoon and even the sugar loaf! When we were finally done eating, we enjoyed the pool deck for the sunset. We were not allowed to take our glass champagne glasses out with us so they happily transferred them into plastic champagne glasses so we could enjoy our saideira by the pool. I am not sure what their regular menu is like, but all the dishes that were out for the Easter brunch were great. There was a yummy bacalhau and a risotto. And let's not forget the dark chocolate fondue with fruit kebob sticks to dip into the chocolate! A+
