It feels dirty and even though it does have some good anchor stores...I feel like the place just needs a huge face-lift

The redeem your check in offer for the $5 value provided by Yelp does not involve AEO. I didn't know that until I paid everything and walked to the Management Office - which then informed me. It was a little confusing.. Anyways, it's okay. I lost out on the offer since it runs out in 4 hours. it's okay [sad face] it's cool! On a sunny day it's warmer inside the stores than it is outside. I was greeted right when I walked into AEO, ask for help and they are happy to help. I was looking for some jeans that are professional to wear at work. (Which means no torn jeans) About 85% of the jeans are ripped up. I know it's the style but there was just a little section for non ripped jeans which kind of sucked I didn't have much variety. The outlets can get pretty packed especially on the weekends and later in the day. I recommend to go in the morning - close parking and less people. read more

Without a doubt, one of the best shopping places within the valley. I was appreciative in the fact that this is located between McAllen and Harlingen to the point if you couldn't find what you were looking for in McAllen, you can find it here, halfway to Harlingen. Although the outlet mall itself is a standard set up with all of your popular name brands such as Eddie Bauer, The Gap, Ralph Lauren Polo, Perry Ellis, Nike Factory Store and Steve Madden, what I found impressive was that there was a ton of parking all around the outlet. In fact, there was an EXCEPTIONAL amount of parking around the outlet. If you drive further into the outlet, you'll see acres and acres of it. I was fortunate enough to pull in close enough to the interior section of the outlet mall where I didn't have to walk a half mile to get to my first store. Part of that reason is because I also arrived at 11 AM on a weekday. Imagine if it was 4 PM on a weekend? Altogether, the bathrooms are clean, the employees are friendly, and there are plenty of store selections to choose from. I assume that there is a food court here, yet I didn't get a chance to check it out. Perhaps next time. read more

Typical outlet mall with the feel of Mexico rolled in. What really busted my hide about this one was the lack of cleanliness. From the planters in the main hallways to just about every store having copious amounts of dust on their displays and products. read more

It's been a few years now since the outlets came down to the valley area and it's been great for the area. It gives people more options than those offered at the McAllen plaza mall which is always good for the consumer. I like coming to the outlets to do my shopping because you usually find a lot more deals and specials which is great for someone that likes to save like myself. Like any other place during Black Friday it gets packed because they offer specials on top of specials...talk about savings! This has become the nearest outlet for people that used to travel to San Marcos for shopping specials. The only downside to this place is that it can get very hot and you'll get sticky real quick. read more

I liked the outdoor setup, but not on a hot summer day. Its like a mall with no roof. Parking was terrible, and a good walk from any store. A big variety of stores to shop. But, I didn't see anything really discounted that made me want to spend. The Sony store is the best store here; It always has some good prices. I bought a nice DVD player for $20. At the Izod store I picked up 2 polos for $25. My wife loved the Carters baby store. But everything else is a waste of time and money. I don't even waste my time anymore in the Nike or Reebok stores. I never find a pair of shoes I like. I think the biggest waste at this and any outlet mall is the Old Navy store. I never see anything cheaper then the regular Old Navy. I think this outlet mall really takes advantage of unaware shoppers. I saw people spending over $200 in several stores; on items that were not worth it. Overall I think Rio Grande Valley Premium Outlets would be better in cooler Texas months, but don't come expecting some big sales. The San Marcos outlets are way better. read more

If you've seen one outlet mall, you've pretty much seen them all. The Rio Grande Valley Premium Outlet Mall is unimpressive, with the usual fare of stores, which may in fact actually may or may not be outlet stores at all. That's one thing you definitely need to keep an eye out for when you come here. As my mom said, "you have to know regular prices to know if you're getting deals here." Personally, I don't think outlets should be arranged that way...all the shops should be outlets, period. The location isn't that great, you'd think they'd have built in a slightly more urban area...being the first outlet mall in the Valley, but they still seem to bring in the business. The outlets themselves are fairly simply laid out and the landscaping is pretty. Customer service in most of the stores was pretty available, you actually felt like they wanted to help you. Maybe because they were bored out of their minds on a Tuesday evening, but who knows? No doubt that it gets crazy busy on weekends and Mexican holidays when the bridges are opened up (I used to work at a mall, I know how that goes)...I'd advise against coming here during those times. read more

I'm gonna be a little more generous with my stars than Quani C. only because there is nothing similar to this in the Valley. We'd heard about the outlet mall, but my in-laws told us that it wasn't very populated with stores yet, so we waited until last weekend to check it out. While there are plenty of stores to go to, for the most part they were aimed at teens and children. There are rumors that they'll open another set of stores nearby with more premium stores. I'm not holding my breath. All in all, they had enough to keep up busy for about an hour. The food court is tiny and three different "restaurants" just isn't going to be enough when it gets crowded. They made quite an effort to make sure there was plenty of parking (not hard since this is in the middle of nowhere) and to put in plenty of trashcans. Though there were sales going on in most stores, I'm not sure anything was discounted enough for me to consider it an outlet mall. Instead of making the trip out here, just watch for sales in your local stores and you'll get the same results, but without the drive. Nevertheless, if they open up some higher end boutiques, I'll trek down again to see what they have to offer. read more

not good for example forever 21 they have cute clothes right, but i myself a plus size person i cant find ANY PANTS for my size they only has XS, S, M, L and thats it i couldnt get it past my thighs i hope people know that plus size people exist and not just skinny/ slim people read more

I'm a fan. They have a lot of my favorite stores. There's a pretty good selection and they constantly seem to be opening new ones. Honestly, prices are pretty regular. But I find it nice to change my scenery when shopping, every once in a while. The shopping complex is basically an outdoor mall, so naturally I avoid it when the weather isn't ideal. It's usually less crowded than the Plaza Mall though, so that's always a plus. read more

The Steve Madden at this outlet completely stole my money, $200 and charged my card twice for a transaction that now doesn't even exist. The manager refused to cooperate and instead of trying to help did absolutely nothing. Would not trust anyone at this store at all. read more

Love the variety of stores and can't complain about the price. The food court is infested with flies though I can only imagine the environment the actual food is made in. Still shopping, but I'll find another place to eat. read more

Wow this outlet mall is huge!

Oh Holy Mecca of shopping. Visited during the Memorial Weekend. Lots of bargains and soo many people. The grounds are lovely to walk around and because the buildings are close together, u are well shaded. But there is a lot of ground a to walk, the place is huge!! read more

I live in California and i've been to many outlets, but none of them compare to these. I was impressed. I loved it here ! it has a lot of stores. Some of my personal favorite Forever 21, Steve Madden, Aldo, Charlotte Russe, Nine West, American Eagle etc. I kinda got lost looking for some stores that were on the directory that's how big it is. I would definitely recommend coming here. These outlets are better than going to a regular mall because they have lots of sales. read more
