This is not a 'luxury' rehab center, so it can not be compared to a 'luxury' rehab - however they…read moredo a tremendous job with what they have. The counselors there are for the most part young, and underpaid - but they are there because they want to be there - they honestly want to make a difference in the lives of the addicts that have found their way to rehab. The addicts that go to rehab there have their days filled with counseling - individual twice a week and group every day for hours. They are taught coping skills, and no one 'right way' is taught - the addicts are encouraged to use whatever means they need to use in order to help themselves stay clean - because the truth is that it's up to them - no one can really help them but themselves. FAMILY/FRIEND INVOLVEMENT AND EDUCATION: There are family/friend programs twice a week - Sunday afternoon and Wednesday night. Sunday afternoon the family/friend hour is without the addicts - it is a time for Families to talk and learn how to help themselves cope with this horrible disease that effects the entire family. Wednesday night group is both addicts and family - it's a chance to address things directly to each other with the counselor there. Anyone who wants it can request a 'one on one' counseling session with a counselor helping to address problems between the family and addict. TREATMENT PLANS: Gateway realizes that one size treatment does not fit all. The addicts see medical doctors and nurses as well as Psychiatrists to form treatment plans for physical treatment and mental health issues that often accompany Addiction. Medication can be prescribed and begun there while in the inpatient treatment. SUCCESS RATE: I don't know what their success rate is but I do know this from experience: My addict got one step closer to staying clean every time she was in rehab. My addict is making her 5th trip to Gateway - all the trips have taken place over a year and two months. The first time she did NOT want to be there and used immediately upon being released. But every time she goes back - and the last three times were of her own volition - she's gotten closer and closer to clean living. Addiction is a lifelong DISEASE, and she is being given the care, and help that she needs until she is able to help herself. This single mother is grateful to Gateway Rehab for their expertise, and help. I don't know what I would do without them.

I was here for 2 weeks in the winter. gateway looks much different in person then on its website…read moreor in it's brochures. there were two showers for 25 or more men. three people to one small room. food was not too bad. different units are treated very differently. my friend and I snuck into the unit that takes better insurance and they had better lounges and rooms then we did. small staff for patients funded by welfare versus larger staff for better insurance. patients that broke rules or fought or brought in drugs got all the treatment. if I you didn't act out you were on your own. I stayed clean for two months after I left.
