No but really, if you ever get the chance to go to Rome, go now. One of the most beautiful cities in the world, easily. Twas this fine establishment that housed me for a week when I was last there, and it was absolutely wonderful, I'd definitely consider staying here again. The hotel is very high class; polished marble floors, pillars of stone etc, but at the same time when you go out back, it has such a rustic homey Italian feel to it. The rooms themselves are not part of the main hotel building; they're housed in 3 separate buildings round the back, next to a beautiful open garden. The rooms are spacious and comfortable, the staff are so friendly, and incredibly fluent in English, the restaurant is great for any meal of the day, and the week we spent here was amazing! My only complaint about this hotel is the distance from any of Rome's "touristy" places. I definitely wouldn't say this was your traditional Italy tourist hotel because it's not in the city centre, and because it's a bit on the pricey side. I'd maybe try and stay a bit closer to the city centre, but I did like the secluded feel of this hotel, so I'm a bit caught in the middle. This hotel is probably worth the journey into the centre mind you! I'd definitely suggest it if you're ever stuck for hotels in Roma!

Ups: While the guest buildings have a dormitory feel, the room was overall clean and comfortable. The main building is nice and well-maintained. The staff is attentive and speaks multiple languages. The restaurant is quite good and is a worthy option for dinner if you don't feel like eating in the city proper. The breakfast was one of the better hotel breakfasts I've had at the many Italian hotels I've stayed at, both in terms of quality and selection. In addition to typical Italian breakfast foods it also serves American fair, such as scrambled eggs and bacon. Downs: It is far from any tourist sites. To get downtown requires either a bus and a metro ride or a 15 minute walk and a metro ride. After a long day this isn't necessarily the rigamarole you want to undertake and it makes very impractical the possibility of going back to the hotel for any reason in the middle of the day. The rooms do have a dormitory feel and are quite spartan. Also, the shower in my room was the smallest I've ever seen. It was literally almost impossible to even turn around with the door closed and I'm quite thin. The prices, while reasonable, aren't so low that I feel it is worth it not to pay a little more for the convenience of staying in the downtown area.

Signage was small; we almost missed it. We got there earlier than the expected check in time, so we were just hoping to drop off our bags and start exploring immediately. However, the landlady, Emily, was very nice and let us check in since our room was ready. The room itself was a good size for two people, quite well decorated. Not much closet space but we were only there one night, so it didn't matter. Free wi-fi. Shared bathroom on the floor, which I was hesitant about, but only 3 rooms seemed to be sharing it and it was never a problem. Everything was really clean and neat. There's a little kitchenette near Emily's office area, and there was juice, milk, fruit and small snacks available to the guests. Emily provided us with a map of the city and suggested some routes and must-see spots. The breakfast is at a cafe around the corner and is very small - a croissant and some coffee or tea. From what I understand this is fairly common for B&B's in Rome. But hey, those croissants are incredible, wouldn't turn one down if that was all I was offered! We had a really good, if brief stay.

The accommodations were impeccably clean and Nedaesha went out of her way anticipating our needs before we knew what they were. We appreciated the cholov yisroel breakfasts which kept us going til dinner and the plentiful shabos meals. Several kosher restaurants are nearby. The location was convenient, half a block from the bus stop which took us to Piazza Venezia (where all our touring started each day) in just 20 minutes. If we return to Rome, we would definitely stay at My Guest Roma again.

The hotel looks much like the other buildings in the area, large homes in pastel colors that have an air of faded glamor. The entrance is pretty well done and there are two lovely terraces where you can sip your Spritz listening to the birds chirp while surfing the web on the free Wifi connection. The rooms are less charming, but are functional and spacious. I would have preferred a less springy bed and a full-length mirror, but all in all it was a really convenient, tranquil stay in a super authentic part of town. I didn't take the bus into the center since I was being escorted around by a local (thanks Valeria I) but I hear that it's pretty conveniently located.

I even called a few times from the states to them to ensure we had service from the airport and just general questions. They were more then happy to assist with all of our questions and make sure we had transportation arranged. We arrived on a saturday afternoon and were greeted with a smile and a warm welcome. We were promplty filled in on what was happening the next day and that we may want to avoid the city. The Rome marathon was the next day. We were impressed with the size of the room and bathroom. It was quite large and nicely furnished with a king size bed, large desk and dresser area some nice wing back chairs and plenty of light from a large window . Down stairs in the basement was the breakfast room, which every morning was filled with all sorts of interesting people and quiet an extensive breakfast. This was included in our room rate. A nice spread of fresh juices, cereals, coffee, tea, pasteries and of course Ham and Cheese. We were very close to many things and got to see normal life in Italy rather then everything touristy. It's about a 15 min bus ride to downtown Rome, but in such a nice area itself. It is situated up on a hill so to get to all the things around it, you take a rather large flight of stairs. The front desk staff was also very helpful when asked about things for day trips and what bus to take and other things we had no idea where to even begin to figure out. If I ever return as I hope to, I will certainly make it a point to stay here again.

It's near the Cavour Metro station, close to great restaurants, and not far from the Colosseum, which is exciting to see down a side street. I especially loved the pastries and fruit juice at breakfast, though it would have been nice if they had soy milk to go with the breakfast cereal (I had to buy my own). The proprietor was lovely, but she didn't speak any English.

We stayed in a single bedroom room with a bathroom. It was quite clean and the owners were very nice. The location was right in the center of everything and I couldn't have asked for a better spot. It isn't fancy by any means but a nice place to stay with included breakfast. I would stay here again!

We will be back to stay when we return to Rome.
