Every instructor works with every student. No one is too important or special to be too busy to help out. In addition to the gains I have made in stamina and flexibility... DON'T COME HERE! The teachers are great. That's the only pro. But they literally take your money. They've miscommunicated with us so many times... they have you pay a ridiculous amount... Then come to find out my kids can't even test for a belt (when we were told they'd be able to test) why would I pay over $300 for my kids to not even be able to test for their next belt? When I called Ashely said we wouldn't get a refund. Like, WHAT?! For classes we haven't used??? You guys aren't straight forward with information and won't refund money once we find out what we've been told is false. It's sad, my kids really enjoyed their teachers... but wow... I'm so turned off about them literally ripping us off. read more

Ripple Effect is a fantastic place for students to learn martial arts, while also building on character development skills, while still having fun! When I started training here over 9 years ago, I did not think I would like karate, but instantly after my first class, I knew I wanted to commit to training in martial arts since it was so fun! The instructors here also do a great job at teaching kids and adults of all ages fantastic character development skills, which helps people become leaders and help out other people. At Ripple Effect they talk about being respectful to people, and how students should not only be respectful at karate, but also at school and home which is a fantastic thing for kids to hear. All in all, if you or someone else is wanting wanting to start martial arts, while also becoming an awesome leader, I would highly recommend trying out a class at Ripple Effect! read more

Great little studio in South FC! I took a kickboxing class on Wednesday morning at 9:30 with Amanda, & she was professional & patient. The workout was challenging yet fun, & the music was loud & motivating, which is important to me! I like a lot of different kinds of music, but when it's time to work, it can't be Mumford & Sons. The combinations here are a little more complicated than other boxing gyms & classes I've been to, so don't get discouraged. It'll come, & everyone's super friendly & helpful here! My only suggestion is to get a wireless headset for the instructor, so s/he doesn't have to turn the music on & off in order to be heard. If I move to FC, I'm sure you'll be seeing me again! read more

Scheduled an introductory session for a specific date and time. I confirmed, so I was rather shocked and irritated when we arrived to find that no one seemed to know what was going on or why we were there. For an activity that supposedly prides itself of a tradition of respect, I felt my time wasn't respected. They also seemed to not know how to talk to younger, shy children who are uncertain about what is going on. Needless to say we have decided against taking our son to Ripple Effects and are looking at other locations. read more

The teachers here are amazing! They are so patient with the little kids and super encouraging of all achievements. Karate has been so impactful for my 5-year-old who really struggled behaviorally previously. I love their focus on building character, showing respect, and increasing focus. This is the first review on Yelp that I have ever bothered to write. I simply cannot speak out about Ripple Effect Martial Effect (Longmont site). My kids are ages 12 and 11, so we have been around the block a time or two. Ripple Effect is a martial arts school, but it is so much more than martial arts. It's a school of positive character-building, of merging theory into the lives of the student, their families and the community. There are assignments (physical and personal growth related), expectations and rewards and consequences for all students. Perhaps the most extraordinary trait of REMA is the personal connections that instructors and staff have for students and families. I am still trying to find the magic trick that they use!! - LOL!!! It really is unbelievable!!! The instructors are phenomenal; truly skilled at inspiring students to "meet their fullest potential" with a whole-child approach. And what's more?! They are genuine in their passion. Instructors ENJOY teaching... and they're brainiacs! They mat excites them, and it radiates throughout the entire school. It's fun to master martial arts and learn about honesty, respect, grace, goals, leadership, aligning body and character, etc. Ripple Effect instructors and staff are sensational with people with disabilities; kids that you'd never dare enroll in many schools. My daughter and so many other students are fully integrated into classes and, because of the instructor's nurturing and intuitive teaching methods, they THRIVE with all students. If you've ever thought of enrolling your kid in a martial arts program, but been overwhelmed with the options in town, stop in to Ripple Effect. My wife and I had been taking cardio-kickboxing classes taught by the master instructor and these classes were for real, in that you were practically dead by the end of an hour (a heart-pounding workout) and it was from pure martial arts exertion, not just dandified cardio. In short, there was no question that this instructor/school founder was legit when it came to martial arts repertoire. It was this experience that made us enquire about the martial arts/karate program. The first lesson was a private, and our six-year-old sat with Master Macy as we watched her instructed to focus her eyes, focus her mind, focus her body. To say "Yes Sir" and "Yes Ma'am." It sounds so simple but the impact really is profound. And this was just in the first five minutes. Now nine, this little girl has grown beyond belief, with two or three classes per week and half a dozen tournaments and hundreds of sparring sessions with peers and black belt instructors having helped sculpt her into a strong, confident, unbelievably well adjusted human being. She tries so hard, she listens and questions, and she strives and strives and strives. These are all big values for us, and they're underpinned by her experiences at Ripple Effect.
