We understand we can't expect the same individualized care from the executive leadership that we could in a smaller congregation, but we look forward to navigating our walk here in the context of the system of delegation that is in place-- Thank God for the blueprint (Exodus 18). Anyway, there will likely be a learning curve. The campus is quite far from us, so we watched their services and podcasts online for a few weeks before deciding to make the drive to visit in person. Church is always better in person. We were welcomed warmly (not overly/fakely so but just enough), and we were given information on small groups which will be key for connection and discipleship. Pastor Ed and his wife Stephanie seem deeply rooted in and passionate about teaching the Word, and their love for each other and the flock appears genuine. Marge from the prayer team was so kind when I went up for prayer and anointing by an elder, and so far this has been a weekly option for those who want to obey the command of James 5:14-15. We're excited to learn more, go through the membership classes, and start serving on one (or several) their MANY weekend/community service teams.

Well once he passed I call the church and spoke with the lady that handles this. Well don't you know that Minister Ed is booked out 1 yr in advance and could not make the time. I said ok, well is the any other minister or church representative that can attend the viewing and say a few words (the viewing was a week away). Don't you know that NO ONE was gonna be available, PERIOD So much for caring for their church members. We had another church pastor attend with a couple days notice.

This church is the best I've ever attended. Everyone is welcome. There is no "fire and brimstone" as in many other christian churches. There's always someone happy to see you. Your "fake-it-till-you-make-it smiles" quickly turn into REAL smiles. Pastor Homer has been through some stuff. That's a major deciding factor for me. I truly believe, you can't help someone go through the worst moments in their lives if you've never been through some stuff in your past. He's energetic without being in your face. And he also works in Recovery centers. She's cute and fun and inspiring. The entire church is ready to welcome all with open arms. While they do not have a brick and mortar standalone church, the dance space they inhabit on Sundays is perfect. From set up to teardown, EVERYONE helps. Even the kids help. (And they WANT to!) THIS is the family you've been looking for. We are waiting for you, with our hands extended, to join us all on our journey to forgive, serve and love. My family stopped going to church for a number of years due to a bad experience at a church and a whole lot of anxiety. Being raised in church, we wanted to try to start going again to raise our own kids in church. A relationship with the Lord has always been important in my life, regardless of how I feel about other human's actions. It is important to me to raise my children with the same foundation. With what I can only attribute to the Lord, we found Alamo Hills on yelp after a lot of prayer - almost going to another church even. And man, am I so thankful this was the church we were led to. Pastor Roy is awesome! His messages are relatable and relevant - holding you accountable for your actions without condemnation. So many churches I've been to fail to show the love of Jesus and model what a joyful life is meant to be like. You belong just as you are and we will thrive together in Christ. Bonus! Life groups just started! You have to give the church some grace. Being new, service is held in a bar (which has a super cool aesthetic, honestly) and you can hear the sweet sounds of 0-4 year olds during the service. To me, it's a sweet reminder of Gods faithfulness, having little ones in the presence of the Lord. All in all, this has been a completely different experience than we have ever had in a church, and I am totally here for it. I am learning a lot about the power of praise and pursuing God with your whole heart through this church. What a blessing to have found this spot "accidentally" one morning. Even when we are away from our home church we make it a point to go to a church near by. As we were heading to Community Church we saw a sign for Living Stone Church. We ditched are plans and proceeded to follow where the sign led us. Talk about a leap of faith :-) The experience was quite serendipitous. The pastor was energetic, humorous, and a great communicator. The message was perfect for us and our 17 yr old son. We joke by saying it must have been a great message because dad didn't even snooze off once. After the service was over and we were all walking back to the car we all had smiles on our faces. My son in such a honest kid like manner said.... that was better than our church .... What a huge compliment that is because our home church is truly amazing....A take away for LSC would be to keep doing what you are doing!!!

NEVER in my life have I ever been harassed for having a small bag with me in the church. I travel for work and I get harassed for "not putting my bag in my car". I took the taxi there! I was even directly accused of hiding a bomb in my bag! Insane! They even sent their security teams to harass me when I tried to leave the compound. JUST LET ME LEAVE IN PEACE. I just want to attend mass. I'm not coming back until those a-holes leave me alone. I have never met a bunch of car-centric self centered people in my life! No other parish does this.
