Weather was cold so we asked to be seated inside, though others who came later sat out on their patio. I ordered their kebab con pane arabo, because in the US, Arabic bread is what I prefer. It was ok, but I've had better. The kebab meat inside was not what I expected. Seemed like chopped chicken, not gyro meat. In fact after eating half, it just didn't taste right. Husband ordered grigliata mista di carne (mixed grilled meat) -- got what looked like steak, lamb and chicken. He also ordered baked potatoes, but the server came back after a while to say they had run out, so he asked for salad instead. I think they forgot about it because it still had not come when we both were almost finished our meals. We first asked the younger male server, and after still not getting it we asked the lady who seemed to be manager or owner. Finally got it and it was decent. Throughout our meal their inside and outside filled. Many people came to pickup orders of pizza, so they must be known for that. No pictures of our orders because after a long day we were too tired & hungry to take pictures by the time food came.

Best EVER pasta with black truffles! Enter an eye catching…read moredinning area underneath a lightly washed stone arch support with warm red color decor and no kitschy nicknacks , and wsite a well dressed. A quite ambiance of refinement We ordered the pre-fix meal and they allowed us to substitute an item. With a glass of prosecco our appetizer was yellow carrot soup with a cauliflower -garlic bruschetta ; very tasty and unique. Next, a mushroom flan in a Parmesan pressed bowl. Paired well with the Multefalco wine. Then came the pasta. Prepared table side it was mixed with salted butter the shaved truffles were added. Not only superb taste but not heavy as I expected. And this too paired well with the regional wine! The meat dish followed. I had the veal with a balsamic demi glaze and my wife had the pork( a bit dry). Veal was tasty and tender. Next, dessert was a vanilla ice cream crepe covered in a tri-berry sauce. This was above average As to the wine, this is my first trip to Umbria where I finally tasted a superb regional wine; Multefalco. Two versions exist. The Rosso ,which is a blend , is a light bodied , fruit-forward wine. The other is a bit more expensive, called the Sagratino. This big, bold, tannin-rich wine easily unwinds in less then an hour into a well balanced, fruit-structured intricate wine. This is an undervalued wine. The most expensive we had in any restaurant was 45 euros for a bottle. Take advantage of it! I gave this place my highest rating for Gubbio because of its ambiance, service, wine knowledge and preparation, price but most of all the PASTA

We stopped here for a quick lunch with our friends who have vacation residence in Amelia. For a Sunday, it was quiet but there was a larger family group with young children as well as a table with 2 older couples. We were seated in the old 'cuccina' which has a large open fireplace so the room was nicely warmed (considering the much colder weather outside. There is still the old stone ovens and prep area including the original water well (grate over the top but I could not see to the very bottom - very deep! We ordered relatively quickly as we were in a timeframe to leave for Firenze. 3 of us had pasta and 1 the steak, which was served with roasted garlic and rosemary potatoes as well as a local spinach.. All meals were quite well presented, very tasty and enjoyed by all of us. We had the last bottle of local wine which was very nice. An espresso before we left and then it was time to hit the road. This place would be absolutely beautiful in the summer, as the views from the al fresco area outside look directly over the valley below. The elevation of Amelia is high and so offers a great vantage point with stunning views. If you are in the area or even just visiting, it's a great little place to try out.. It's new - and some folks on TA have them a rough review - however, everyone has to start somewhere right? Our friends to live here (vacation home) really enjoy it and so did we..

Great food, great service, and a beautiful view. A great location with a scenic view of the valley…read morebelow.
