We visited Colmar during the 2025 Christmas market...on opening weekend. We were there for 15 minutes and could not handle the crowd. Luckily, we went back in March and the weather and crowds were perfect! After walking Colmar for a few hours, it was time to eat! La Romantica is in a nice square with a few other restaurants and on a Monday afternoon, this place was jumping. We got sat outside which was perfect as there was a little stream next to us and we got to people watch. One daughter had a pizza which was tasty, light and thin crust, and the crust went well with olive oil and balsamic. The other had carbonara equally tasty! The missus had some mushroom stuffed ravioli. The picture doesn't do it justice as it's not photogenic but it was incredibly tasty! I had some version of cordon bleu at the recommendation of our awesome server and I destroyed it! As we got ready to leave, it was bathroom time so we went inside. Bathrooms are upstairs and oddly I found it cool to see what looked like incredibly old stairs. Never thought a trip to the bathroom would be cool but the stairs were worn in the middle and made me think of how many people might've walked these stairs. Excellent food and service with a smile! Enjoyed the Lasagna! I would only suggest a more mellow music play list but love the Bee Gees!

Tbh we were going elsewhere until we met the owner (Sebastian) at a bar across the street. The bar was also good (Deer and Beer), but we really enjoyed Romantica. Service a little hectic, but food was excellent - we had snails to start, and a carpaccio de boeuf, then an escalope de veau (plenty of garlic on the pasta!), veal cordon bleu with champignons ( and another with Gorgonzola), and a filet de boeuf. Delicious, delicious and more delicious! Went every night I stayed in Colmar. Pizza and pasta vegetarian options available. Great location. If you want outdoor seating in peak season, best to go before they open and don't be demanding about where to sit. They will seat as they see fit,plenty of seating inside too! This place was fantastic from the moment we entered. The service was perfect and the food was great. I only ordered a tomato pesto soup and the salad contadino but both were perfect. I tasted the risotto fruit de la mer (seafood risotto) which was a delight, also the salmon which was served with noodles - I tasted some of the noodles and sauce - divine...The oters in my party ordered the veal and pizzas and all ate every bit. We ordered desserts as well - pistachio creme brulee, a chocolate parfait type dessert, panna cotta, a sherbert mint infision dessert and all were licked clean :) We enjoyed the meal trmendously and highly recommend it!! read more

This restaurant was so delicious! We were pressed for time & the staff was accommodating. We had a toddler in our party & everyone was welcoming. The food was amazing! We stumbled upon this restaurant after getting to Colmar late at night. I'm glad we did! Cute small restaurant with friendly staff and good Italian food. That pizza was VERY good & the cheese plate had a good variety as well. Highly recommend for a 11 pm meal. read more

My better half and I decided to try La Romantica since it was adjacent to our hotel, St. Martin, and rain was forecast. We arrived a bit before 6:30 and got a good seat before the place filled up. We ordered a veal cordon bleu and a steak with mushroom sauce and a small salad but the salad never came which was just as well since both entrees were American sized. We also ordered a glass each of a local Pinot Noir which hit the spot... I mean paired well with our meal. Our entrees arrived in good order accompanied by the thick fries (chips in England) that make me think back to the 60's in the U.S. before the fast food burger companies thinned them out. Both our entrees were covered with the same delicious mushroom gravy and had a small iron pot of exquisite stewed tomatoes and eggplant. The steak was ordered medium but came medium-well which wasn't fatal due to the gravy but that and the forgotten small salad lowered this rating to 4 stars instead of 5. The veal cordon bleu lived up to it's homemade menu description. It was perfect! Overall this was one of our better meals and we both agree La Romantica is worth a return visit. read more

Good food and environment, but this was the worst and slowest service I've had in many years! It was at best deliberately rude! When we arrived, the restaurant was about half full so they were not that busy on a Wednesday evening. Even though the food was prepared well and at a proper temperature, the service was so poor that it detracted from what should have been a positive experience. The owners should "secret shop" their establishment and make wholesale personnel changes. read more
