You know how you come in to town when you're traveling/exploring all day and you're beat? You just want to find a decent place to sit down and have dinner, rest your feet, rest your body? We were so lucky that this place was across the street from the Continental in Berlin. We didn't have reservations but since we were there fairly early they were able to seat us. We really enjoyed our dinner, it was relaxing with really good food and really friendly wait staff. My husband had the pizza and he likes hot stuff so he asked the waiter for something to spice up the pizza and he recommend the spicy olive oil, he loved it! I got the pasta carbonara prepared at your table, so so good. My mom got the truffle pasta. Would definitely come back here. read more

La Sardegna is a small storefront Italian restaurant in Berlin, Germany. It is located across the street from the Intercontinental Hotel Berlin, literally a 5-minute walk away. But we all know that location is not always the final determination of a restaurant's worth. In this case, the location is a bonus. We liked being close to the restaurant, and the food was good. There is a wide selection of Italian food. A couple of us ordered the pizzas (one Margherita and one white pizza). Both were good and filling and great in their simplicity. There is a large choice of pizzas in case you would prefer more toppings. The third member of our party had the mussels and pasta and enjoyed them as well. You can find a large choice of pasta dishes and meat dishes. The dessert options are quite good as well. Bread to start the meal off was good, and my cream of tomato soup was hot and flavorful. So I recommend a stop here when you are in Berlin. Definitely a good meal. read more

I loved this place! I had the calamari appetizer and the spinach ravioli with sage and butter!!! I have been very food challenged since I arrived in Berlin. So to be able to have things I really enjoy eating makes up for it for sure. The service was great and the waiter was quite engaging. We even had a chance to meet the chef's granddaughter...so cute! There were about 6 of us that had dinner last Thursday evening...it was fun and we all enjoyed our dinner. Definitely a great place to have dinner in Berlin! Superb service, food, prices and smart location. I'm guessing the owner knew the nearby Intercontinental Hotel guests would tire of the lofty hotel restaurant prices. Bruschetta, salad, pasta, fresh baked bread, scrumptious olives, glass of Chianti and espresso was 34 euros. A burger in the coffee shop at the hotel is 33 euros. Recommend this delightful restaurant highly. Will return. read more

Good but overpriced This restaurant probably targets mostly tourists. Food was good, although I'd probably say not amazing, but a bit expensive. Wine is totally overpriced (6.70€ for a glass) and desserts are on the expensive side too. Probably the only Italian restaurant in Berlin where you don't get a free espresso or liquor at the end of the dinner. read more

I stayed at a hotel nearby and the restaurant and staff was a nice break from the hotel and week of german food. Excellent menu. As the name suggests, the "island" of Sardena had an excellent choice of seafood. I had a pasta dish and later, a pizza at lunch. Both were very good. Work associate had a good meal too. What helps make this a great are the people. Genuinely nice to customers. I also saw them helping a non customer who had lost their keys. read more

Terrrible. I'm allergic to rosemary which is in most of their dishes they said they could make a pasta without the rosemary and what they brought out to me was bland pasta with no flavor. I took one bite and by the waiter came back our party was done eating. They said they could make another dish but everyone was done eating. They charged me for the plate which I didn't eat. Oh, such a lovely find! The food is delicious - get the pasta al Gamberi, it's served piping hot and perfectly al dente, with a light and savory herb sauce. I felt like I was back in Italy for the night. And of course, buffalo mozzarella... because, buffalo mozzarella! The atmosphere and staff are charming. I started ordering in Italian, then accidentally switched to Spanish, speckled with English. (Tired traveller syndrome). My waiter followed the whole thing, and started using just Spanish and English, to make sure I understood. Also - I have a food allergy to nuts and pine nuts, and they made sure my food was safe to eat, without making me feel stupid. That's priceless. I think I need to come here every time I'm in Berlin. Tonight I had a very enjoyable meal. My wife and I both had the linguine with shrimp and it was excellent. The wait staff was very helpful and friendly. For an appetizer we had mozzarella and tomatoes and that was also excellent. We would go there again. read more

I never write reviews but I feel compelled to write one. This is a simple looking place but absolutely special. I stayed at a hotel nearby and liked the food so much that I came twice. Some of the best Italian food I've had outside of Italy! I had the classic spaghetti with oil, garlic and chili, the tuna and egg salad, and the linguine gamberi- the pasta is perfectly al dente, the staff is friendly and lovely and they even gave me a free glass of digestif. We stopped in late (1000) and it was crowded. We were shown to a table right away by the gracious staff and treated to a superb meal. The service is personal. The food was excellent. We had several types of fresh pasta with seafood and one with Italian sweet sausage. We all commented to one another what a great meal it was and we had only just walked in because it was near and we were hungry. A stroke of luck. Upon leaving the staff all said good night and one waiter held the door open and shook each of our hands and said good night. Don't hesitate. read more
