Chef sampling of smoked salmon and fennel
    Maria-Elena T.

Four of us had dinner midweek based on the concierge's recommendation. The chef started us with a sampling of a piece of smoked salmon and fennel with orange sauce. I loved it. I had the most amazing pasta dish of tortellini. Wow. I would get it again. Actually everyone loved the dish they chose - two got the spicy spaghetti/linguini and one the pasta with chic peas. For dessert we spilt the molten chocolate tart. Totally decadent and worth evey calorie They listed a sorbet dessert that was essentially a scroppino - a northern Italian drink. Very yummy. Hard to find outside Northern Italy.

Fine Italian dining with various wine choices. All food are good and specially love the risotto and sea brass. Will tecommend to come next time. Nice vibe btw.

I feel guilty giving this place three stars considering all the 5 star reviews this place has received, however, after much consideration that is what I ended up giving. Friends of ours recommended this place to us quite some time ago but we had not bothered to try it until now. For charm, ambience and looks this place gets 5 stars. Gorgeous interiors and fabulous al fresco seating with comfortable chairs. The service here is also quite formal with waiters dressed in black and overall service is 4 stars. Food for me here is unfortunately the one thing that did not wow me. Overall I would give the food here 3 stars. The menu is great with a very nice modern Italian twist to it and has many of the traditional Italian dishes on offer as well. The choice for vegetarians is limited to starters and pasta. You can choose to have a set menu of 4 or 5 courses or a la carte. The food started off great with fresh veggie sticks to nibble and the amouse bouche was really tasty. My duo of crab & prawn was missing the intensity I expect and, while it looked great, the flavours left me slightly disappointed. My main of lamb rack was excellent meat however, part of it was rare / blue even though, I asked for it medium rare. Again missing the intensity I would expect. My fig tart was a non event and mushy. They also used tinned pineapple, a first in a upper end restaurant for me. Why they had pineapple on the plate, I simply will never understand as, it did not go with the dish at all. The quality of the ingredients was high however the flavour was so so and some of it, quite greasy. I enjoyed the atmosphere and overall, we had a lovely evening. At these prices I expect more and, this place did not deliver last night. I will try it one more time before deciding, if I should consider changing my review ,or not. A gorgeous atmosphere for a nice intimate dinner or date.

This was a delightful place for a meal and not a five minute walk from my hotel. We came here…read morebecause the person behind the counter [at the hotel] told us we should try it here but be prepared to wait a bit as they do get busy in the evening. Like she said, The restaurant was busy and we did not have have reservations. The very nice gentleman who was greeting the incoming guests just smiled and asked us to wait patiently for a few minutes... Not ten minutes later, we were able to get a table. Helene (my wife) and I are pretty much creatures of habit, We usually eat light in the evenings while traveling and we are both in love with European pizza... It's always so fresh and tasty. So, we ordered the pizza and an order of mozzarella and tomatoes. Everything was wonderful. This was one large pizza (and we managed to finish it). So Perfect, everything was fresh, hot (or cold when it needed to be) and tasty! When we returned to the hotel, we thanked the team member behind the counter and told her that We truly enjoyed our meal and had a lovely time. KUDOs to the team at L'Osteria.

Nice space near downtiwn Munich. Busy restaurant but service was good…read more This is what I would call standard Italian food in Germany. Nothing extrodinary or unqiue, just standard fare. Pasta was ok with a good sized portiin of cheese. Lasagna was piping hot but nothing fancy or unique. Pizzas here are popular, big but thin crust and minimal toppings.
