We selected him and his team for our wedding in Tuscany in April 2018 and it couldn't have been more perfect. The process was amazing - Alessio gave us an incredible choice of food on the menus, and all were extremely gourmet options - not the standard mass-dinner selections you usually get for weddings. He let us mix and match to our taste. On the day, he and his team were excellent - they supplied not only amazing food and service, but also everything else you needed - chairs, tables, glassware, bar, apertivo - the whole thing from start to finish. His traditional cake show, where he made the wedding cake by hand in front of the guests was truly a wow moment, very memorable and great for pictures and to get the energy up after a dinner. His personality and professionalism shines through what he does, his prices are competitive and we are so happy we found him. We wouldn't have changed a thing. Thank you Alessio! Matteo was humble, funny and informative; sharing tips on how we could recreate the dishes he created for us. Our starter was a savory pumpkin flan. Chef Matteo made fresh pici pasta with a spectacular garlic and green tomato sauce topped with hot pepper (capsicum) strands. I've made my own pasta before, so I know it is not as easy as he made it seem, but it has inspired me to try again, because fresh pasta cannot be beat! The restaurant is intimate, and the inside is absolutely gorgeous. The teal color walls against the exposed stone is eye catching. If you can, grab a seat by the functioning well; the running water is so soothing as you dine (or it might make you want to use the toilet a lot!)

Mateo really took the time to explain how to cook specialty items, and the importance of knowing your ingredients and knowing your equipment. He also detailed how "where" you live can cause a need for adjustments in cooking temps & times. I am so grateful for his motto of "no secrets in the kitchen". For him, it is all about sharing and collaboration. We started with popcorn sprinkled w/ paprika. I have never had it like that before and it was so light and tasty. The 2nd course was a pumpkin flan. He taught us the rule of balancing - 4. 1) 2oz eggs, 2) 2oz kitchen cream(or heavy cream), 3) 2oz milk and 4) 2oz pumpkin (or fig or veg, etc.). It was SO GOOD. Topped with sweet peppers shaved like saffron, a pistachio crema, & pistachio pieces. Little dallops of basil & pistachio gelee circled the little flan disc as pops of brightly flavored bursts. OMG!! Delectable! Paired with a rich Sangeovese, it was amazing!! Then we moved on to the 3rd course. Pici pasta. The pasta was superb! Fresh, fresh, fresh! with a home made green tomatoe and elephant ear garlic sauce. A deep "Super Tuskan" red to accompany was perfection. For dessert we had Cantucci and Vinsanto. What a lovely night!

Plus it is a green winery that produces a delicious variety of wines and olive oil. The winery tour and tasting alone would be worth the trip to this property. Great wine to drink, wine knowledge to feed your mind, and enough artisan food samplings to feed the most robust appetite. The villa we rented had 6 bedrooms each with its own bathroom. All beautiful in their simplicity and generous space. The villa is designed and maintained to the highest degree. There are inside and outdoor gathering spaces to join together for a meal, relax your way to the beginning of the day, or laugh, talk, and drink until the calendar page flips over. There is even a pool to remove the heat of the day. Everyone we met from owners to tour guide to cleaning staff have the nicest and most pleasant demeanors - helpful, friendly, and welcoming.

AMAZING!!!! Would give this 10 stars if we could!!…read more My wife & I thoroughly enjoyed our experience with Mirella and Stefano. It started with the both of them taking us on a tour of the Sant'Ambrogio food market, where they told us fascinating details about the market and vendors. This is where they picked up the ingredients for the menu we were to cook a bit later in the day. This market tour was a fascinating & entertaining way to start the experience! After the market, they drove us to their BEAUTIFUL home and gave us a tour of their home & lovely garden. This was such a thrill and further immersed us with Italian authenticity. We then got to cooking, during which my wife and I could not stop smiling. It started with two different forms of bruschetta, both of which turned out DELICIOUS. Then, we made handmade tagliatelle pasta with Tuscan ragu. WOW, just wow. The next thing we prepared for the menu was chicken cacciatore. Sooooo wonderful, tender, and flavorful. Finally, we prepared homemade tiramisu. It was every bit as tasty & amazing as it sounds! Throughout the food prepping and cooking, Mirella & Stefano gave us the perfect combination of talking us through it, assisting hands-on if needed, and informing us about the fascinating history behind each dish. The time passed so quickly, as we were having the time of our lives! When it came time to eat, Stefano served us each course. The food all came out INCREDIBLE and it was amongst the best meals we had throughout our entire week in Florence! Stefano & Mirella's kindness and courtesy made us feel like we were family. This was our first full day in Italy (our first experience in all of Europe, in fact!) and we can't stop talking about this experience. We get so welcomed & appreciated by Stefano and Mirella. We would highly recommend this experience to just about anybody, regardless of culinary interest. For all of the fascinating things you'll learn about Tuscan food & history, you'll also feel like you just had an amazing get-together with new friends! Thank you, Stefano & Mirella. The next time we make it out to Florence, we will absolutely sign up for another class. Oh, and one more thing: Mirella handed us a printout of our entire menu, with detailed instructions of how to prepare each item! We've already recreated the bruschetta with Tuscan bread, sausage & stracchino cheese - DELICIOUS!!! Grazie mille, James & Christa
