The end of May weather was perfect for outdoor dining. We tried to call and make reservations in advance but could not get through for whatever reason. So we arrived when they opened at 7:30 pm, and I'm glad we did because the restaurant filled up quite quickly. From beginning to end, the service was incredibly efficient. This restaurant operates like a well-oiled machine. To start with, I had a glass of Ferrari sparkling wine and my dining companions went with the St. Germain Spritz. All our drinks were very good. We started with the large board as an appetizer, which came with a variety of cured meats and fried gnocchi. We thought the large board was going be too much for our group of four, but we ate it quite quickly. It was the perfect amount, so don't be shy and order the bigger size if you are on the fence. The fried gnocchi was light and was such a different accompaniment for charcuterie. And the cured meats were high quality. The board was the star of the show. My dining companions ordered the lasagna, the bolognese, tortellini la crema. When I asked my dining partners how they'd rate their meals, the tortellini and the bolognese rated 8 out of 10 and the lasagna a 7. Everyone finished their plates, which speaks for itself. I ordered the Argentine filet with grilled vegetables. It was excellent -- perfectly cooked and well seasoned. We finished our meals off with some of the strongest, most concentrated espresso I've had in my life. Our visit to Una D'Oro was fabulous. I'd recommend a visit if you are looking for a dinner spot in Modena.

I got there much earlier than my family, they let me sit at a table and wait ~15 minutes for them. The owner offered me a glass of wine on the house while I waited which was really kind. They also had a complimentary appetizer of mortadella for us when we were all seated as well. The mortadella was amazing. The pasta was truly al dente, not just undercooked like it was in so many other places. The sauce was delicious and flavorful, and maybe more importantly, there was a sufficient amount of it. Not just a little dollop, enough sauce to cover the pasta. The osso buco was one of my favorites - we tried osso buco probably half a dozen times, but this was by far the best, without a doubt. Delicious and served with some potatoes and seasonal veggies on the side.

Actually ate there twice - first time for Sunday brunch, and just had Emanuel pair a bottle of local wine with the neal. Fantastic wine. The second time we had almost the same thing ( returned after a few mediocre - by comparison) meals. Got an even better bottle of wine. And were given a gift bottle when we left. Fun place. After walking around the city we stopped in for dinner, I felt a little under dressed however we were immediately greeted and seated with no wait or hesitation. This spot would be great for a date night, we sat next to another couple that was celebrating. For our appetizer we ordered the smoked goose breast, it was decadent, had a rich Smokey flavor but it was also light, a great start to our dinner. For our main course I ordered the pistachio crusted sea bass with spinach, and my partner the traditional Bolognese. For dessert, a tiramisu that had maybe a little too much chocolate powder on it and I would've loved some more berries on the plate but delicious nonetheless. We enjoyed every bite and recommend Franco Rossi when in Bologna.
