    Gnocchi pesto

This place is amazing, highly recommend. We had a big party of 7 and they were able to accommodate us with ease. The pizza is made fresh, gelato made in house and the servers all speak english perfectly. If I am ever back in Livorno, I will definitely come back here for a meal. Grazie mille

We were in town for our cruise and wanted to walk the streets before heading back to the ship. We saw this corner-style café and thought we'd try it with the kids. What a great little place! We chose to sit outside and "people watch" while enjoying our drinks. I ordered the Calimary with Pasta and loved every bite of it! Simply fantastico!! I hate to say this, but I did get the impression that the wait staff took advantage of us, though. Our boys went inside to buy some ice cream and paid for it themselves. When we got the bill, they double-charged us for the ice cream, even though we told the English-speaking waitress that they were paying for it separately inside. Not a big deal and we will still try this place again. However, as with any bill you get while traveling, simply double-check for accuracy.

Stumbled upon this gem. The food here is delicious! Wifi available here and owner was very hospitable and spoke perfect English in case you're apprehensive about communication.

Great food and beautiful atmosphere!! Started with the anti pasta , various meats and cheese was really good! Next was the rocolo and Parmesan pizza which was fantastic flavor and texture crust was amazing. Also ordered gnocchi and tortellini with spinach and ricotta shared it all and sampled both the Chianti Classico 2014 and the Livio Felluga Shari's 2015, every thing was so good and topped off with our server Nicola who was the best and spoke perfect English! 5 stars !!!

I'm missing two photos - I was hungry!! We started off with caprese and bruschetta, the mozzarella is absolutely delicious here! We then ordered pizza, pepperoni and onion, which was delicious! We also ordered gnocchi and pesto. The pesto was good I just felt it was a bit much with a lot of olive oil in it. The waiter was trying to rush us in the beginning due to us being American. We informed him we were in no rush and changed his waiting style to being more laid back. Warning to Americans - no toilet seat in the bathroom, which wasn't an issue. The location did cater towards tourists, but it was a bit farther and the price was less expensive than in the tourist drop off location! Would definitely eat here again!

This is a great stop for the person who would like a a great snack. I had a Tiramisu and my honey had a few pastries. The wine choice and expresso were on point. A quick 15 min stop was very delightful!

Visiting from the U.S. on a western Mediterranean cruise and found this lovely spot thanks to Yelp! The food was simple yet delicious; I enjoyed an antipasti plate of fresh meats, cheeses, and tomatoes, and a reasonably sized serving of penne l'arrabiata (slightly spicy sauce -- they just add a pinch of crushed red pepper to what I imagine is their regular red sauce). I also had a glass of excellent red wine for only 5 euros, which appeared to be the going price in Livorno. The staff speaks English and is very welcoming of tourists, and it's right off the main street where lots of shopping is located. There is ample outdoor seating under a cover, and most of this seating was occupied when I arrived after 2 p.m. Worth seeking out when you are in Livorno, even if you are only passing through as I was!

Great place near the center of town. Great outdoor seating & Huge portion sizes with authentic pasta dishes. You have to get the antipasti with the meats and fresh bufola mozzarella and fresh baked focaccia bread. There Gnocchi Pesto is to die for also. Decent wine selection.

Caprese (€5,50), fresh bread (free), olive oil, and balsamic

Came to Livorno on a day trip from Florence. One of the best meals I've had in Italy! Caprese was fresh and delicious and so was the spaghetti carbonara. The bread, olive oil, and balsamic were all fresh and extra tasty. The service was superb. One of the cheapest and best places to eat in all of Tuscany!

    Amazing Pizza and chianti wine

I was looking for something local to eat. Thankfully I found this amazing location. Staff is very friendly and welcoming. We had a Tuscan appetizer, chianti wine and a pizza. Flavorful is the least I can say.. I highly recommend this place.

Visiting from the US. Nicoli greeted us up front in English and explained the different selections that they offered. He took great care of us! I had the Linguine with shrimp while my better half had the spaghetti. Both dishes were magnificent. The Chianti wine was great, worth getting but I suggest only the half bottle because it's very strong. Up next will be the Gelato!

Good wine and pasta, not the best that I have had in Italy but all was good. Service was ok but my group came at the end of the lunch rush.

I have two first cousins on my Dad's side living in Livorno, who have been living in Italy for 15 & 30 yrs, respectively. I only knew them via FB, and this would be my first time meeting them in person. In addition, I saw a Stanley Tucci episode where he visited Livorno and ate cacciucco alla Livornese, a seafood stew that looked similar to cioppino. I wanted to try it and my rellies knew Le Volte offered the dish, as well as other seafood dishes. Eleven of us indulged on polpo e patate, fried seafood, cacciucco and other dishes. We also enjoyed a local wine that I had tried earlier in the year by chance. I'm glad it was on the wine list. All of the seafood was excellent, especially the cacciucco. For example, the polpo was super fresh & tender. Likewise, the fried seafood platters had super fresh calamari, shrimp, fish, et al, and the portions were massive. The cacciucco contains five seafoods, and in this case it included the head of a local fish. The head had so much edible meat, and the sauce was thick, rich & spicy from being infused by all the ingredients. The sauce was not brothy like cioppino. Regarding the ambiance, we ate on the outside patio, where we could see the sailboats across the street and watch the sunset. In Italy, everything is "piano piano" (slowly slowly), so relax, and don't be in a rush. Food came out slowly, but it was perfect bc we wanted to talk and get to know each other. I think dinner took 3 1/2 hrs. Likewise, the service was very good and was on pace with the delivery of the food. We also found out my rellies know the sous chef, who is also Filipino. Apparently there are 1,000 Filipinos living in Livorno, amongst a population of 150,000. All in all, a fantastic experience to meet my first cousins for the first time, and enjoy some excellent seafood at a restaurant with a view.

There are pictures of famous people on the wall (though I didn't recognize them) and it was very busy when we were there. It's on the banks of the Mediterranean Sea near the cruise ports and there is no parking we could find nearby. We parked in a public lot close by and it was an easy walk. There was not much to do in the city (although, in fairness we were there on New Years Day) but the food was a nice respite from our prior pizza pasta carb load and super fresh.
