Rite Aid offers a very competitive price on passport photos: $8.99 instead of $14.99 most other stores charge. So, I went online to see if my neighborhood Rite Aid store has photo services, but I could not find this information. I decided to chat with customer service, but they couldn't find that information either and suggested that I call the store! Some customer service! So, I called the store to inquire. Their machine is broken! I was told the closest Rite Aid location with photo service is in Lynden, a city 15 miles away! I know it'a kind of goofy to review a Rite Aid, but have you even had one of those days where you've been running around and literally nothing is going right? I came in 3 days late to pick up my prescription I needed, couldn't find my card, entered the wrong pin twice and finally was able to walk out with my meds. This sounds like a nightmare to most cashiers, but the pharmacist assisting me was patient and kind and kept me smiling and talking the whole time. It is rare to find a really good pharmacy, but Rite Aid on Sunset is a truly helpful crew and the rest of the store is always well stocked and the staff is friendly and knowledgeable. read more

I transferred my prescription here a week before pick up to minimize the constant hurdles I am always having to go through just to pick up my hormone prescription. I was assured I would be able to pick up my meds in 1-2 days. I showed up after a week. No meds. Plus I was now being told it would take another day. When asked to clarify the man said it would be 2 days. Now extending the wait from 1-2 days to 8-9 days. The communication coming from this "pharmacy" is so bad it literally is putting me in harms way. Im not sure who it was I talked to on the phone that assured me my hormones would be ready and just seemed to decide not to get my prescription after the time he promised elapsed. Ya know, as you do, just casually deciding to enforce your power over others and put them in harms way through apathy, totally not his fault, I mean, he didn't *do* anything after all, including not getting my meds he promised he'd have ready. Funny how this keeps happening at every pharmacy I go to. Its very interesting how Planned Parenthood seems to be so knowledgeable about the difficulty we always face, almost as if it is oddly common for trans people to frequently have hurdles at pharmacies. The look on this mans face simply asking if it was a safe place. This is *such* a common phrase for businesses to signal to LGTBQIA people, so common there are literal stickers to buy that can be placed at the storefront. The man at the drop off window with dark long hair and glasses. Even when it was apparent a problem arose, he made *such* minimal effort even going as far as to inform me *other* prescriptions were available, just not mine. He made it very apparent it was not a safe place with his response, that it was the stupidest question he had ever heard and I was stupid for asking it. It must be nice to be a white cishet man living on easy mode. THIS IS NOT A SAFE PLACE DO NOT GO HERE IF YOU ARE LGBTQIA+ Editing with an update: I verified with my other pharmacy my prescription of 11 medications were definitely transferred over. I am not sure who is saying the dont have the prescription when in fact they do, but I am inclined to believe the people that are being nice to me and think the rude people that are speaking to me rudely on the phone (This pharmacy) is probably the ones refusing to give me my medication. Another edit: After being hung up on twice when calling this pharmacy after I verified my prescription was sent here, suddenly they are saying my single prescription is at least 5 now and that the no refills they told me minutes before suddenly changed to them now deciding they do in fact suddenly have my prescription and are now going to fill it. Suddenly they are so nice to me, interesting how they were extremely rude even hanging up the phone on me, then I verify with my prescription was definitely sent and suddenly they now have my prescription. After being hung up on twice, being told have to comply (not sure what for, they wouldn't specify) suddenly they go from being extremely rude to all of a sudden overly nice (obviously fake since they let it slip I need to comply) They aren't even good liars, I am literally holding a bottle of my prescription that says 3 refills until 4/22/25, yet they told me several times that I do not have any refills. For some reason this place is very empty. Its big but not a lot of people inside. Well if you are looking for off the counter drugs or ointment or cream, this is the right place to go. They have products that can not be found at Fred Meyer and or Safeway. People here are friendly. Isles quite wide and nice to walk in. Decor is not bad, the place is very clean. read more

Since I have gotten good service are there any occasions I'm only scoring for my last escapade.... and it should probably be one star at best. The woman at the counter was very rude. She quoted me a price so I gave her exact change. She then charged me a different price. When I questioned her she told me I must be wrong. She was extremely defensive. When I got home I looked at the receipt and saw that a 50% off item was charged full price, costing me about twenty bucks. read more

There's not much you can say about a Rite-Aid that people don't already know: they are huge, brightly lit, and full of just about anything you could need to help cure a cold, fix a boo-boo, or beautify yourself. The Sunset Rite-Aid is no exception, with its vast expansiveness and brightly lit aisles. There is definitely someone for everyone, including a large full-service pharmacy and the requisite seasonal items to tempt you to buy things you forgot you needed. They also have a good selection of groceries. As with other Rite-Aids, the prices are pretty high here and it's best to join their Rewards program (free to join) so you can get extra savings. Also, their pharmacy doesn't have the longest hours and has no drive-through. Soon a giant Safeway will be opening next door so I have to wonder what that means for this Rite-Aid. read more

It disappoints me to have to give a Rite Aid a one star seeing as how the have great specials and most stores all the staff are friendly. Well not this one off Sunset in Bellingham. The two products I went there for, fabric softener and dryer sheets both happen to be 50% off and off course they're out. I asked the gentleman if possibly there was some more in the back and he told me no and it was stuff that were trying to get rid of. FALSE! I buy Downey active fabric softener and Downey with Febreze dryer sheets all the time. I realize it was 10 minutes before closing but that's no excuse for not even checking. I've also seen multiple people get rain checks but nothing was offered so I walked next door to Safeway and the exact fabric softener was 40% off plus $3.00 off when you buy 3! I shop at Rite Aid for cosmetics and occasionally find good deals. I have been to both Rite Aids off Sunset & the Guide and always feel like I'm in the Twilight Zone. Maybe it is because the stores are normally empty of shoppers and it is so so quiet or its the odd music playing. Or it could be the way the stores are set up. read more

I have shopped at Rite Aid for years. This location is close to my home, so it was convenient. I've had issues with one particular cashier ringing up items incorrectly, and not only admits that she did and starts to correct it by calling a manager, but ended up sending me on my way without fixing the error, knowingly. The same cashier has given horrible service multiple times. I have notified corporate and they did have a team leader call me. Although the team leader said the matter was going to be taken care of, I don't have confidence that it will. She clearly didn't understand the severity of what happened to me and almost acted like it wasn't that big of a deal. Other cashiers have been rude to customers then snickered about them behind their back...in front of other customers no less. I won't shop at this location again and may even consider changing pharmacies...although the pharmacy employees have always been fantastic!! read more
