They had several kinds of indian food, a lush salad bar, and TONS of fresh-made deli items. I was tempted by a grilled salmon salad, gluten free mac and cheese, and the gluten free carrot cake. Ended up getting a vegan tofu burrito bowl and it was so good! I couldn't help but browse the snacks. They had every brand I love here, with flavors I had never even heard of. Ended up somehow resisting the desserts and huge fridge dedicated to olives and pickled goods and just got out with a few kinds of vegan jerky (which is hard to find for me). Again, heaven. I will have to come back on a cheat day when I am ready to sample all the gluten free dessert.

Since I order online, I only have interactions with them over the phone or through cute smiley faces written on invoices, but even when that note is explaining that they ran out of something I ordered so they refunded me that amount, there's just a certain warmth to it. Businesses like these remind us that there are humans behind everything that happens there, and ground us in our own humanity in turn. Unlike everywhere else on Orcas Island, the food here was always a good price ans didn't feel like expensive, "island pricing". I understand many people come here to shop and I can say that the grocery prices seemed to be comparable to prices you'd find on the mainland at Fred Meyer. The staff was always nice and friendly and the store itself was clean, well kept and organized. Sitting right in the heart of Eastsound makes it quite convenient as well. I definitely appreciated the sitting area to eat my food from the hot bar in the front of the store. My only major gripe was though they had wifi, no employee over my months of visiting was ever able to recall what the password was to access it which I found quite annoying. Otherwise, its a good store with a good hot bar for a quick lunch!
