Went back in 5 hours later and one of the "managers" was there. No photo. The SD card isn't working, which he said has been a problem. He said he wasn't told anything when he came on shift about my photo. I asked if it would be policy for the clerk to call me and let me know it couldn't be done, so I'd know to go elsewhere. He just said, "yeah, she should have called." That's it. If they knew there was a problem, why wasn't that relayed to all employees and consequently, to customers? Also, the store has been very dirty. I've asked when the janitor might be coming in. I was told they don't have one to do floors and someone on each shift is supposed to be cleaning them. I, masked in N95 - no cough, went to pick up the script and the woman behind the desk asked my info, saw what I was there for and freaked out on me: "YOU SHOULDN'T BE HERE! IF I GET COVID, I COULD DIE!" I responded with "WELL I HAD CANCER!" She wouldn't help me so I went to the front desk to pay for my items. I asked for a manager, and none were there. A customer who witnessed this unprofessional behavior followed me to the front and said she was so sorry that happened to me and saw how poorly I was treated. The employee told me "they didn't have that (Paxlovid) here." I then checked the website and it says Rite Aid carries it. I call the pharmacy and wait 36 minutes on hold to talk to a Pharmacist, who was very nice. Turns out Rite Aid's supplier hasn't sent them Paxlovid so she said I can have another pharmacy transfer the script. Helpful! I called Safeway and they picked up the phone immediately. Have Paxlovid in stock, no problem. They fax over a request at 2:45pm. My husband went to pick up after 5 pm and Rite Aid, hadn't yet sent over the script. Called again, no wait time, and took care of it. Safeway, Freddy's, and Walmart all have the drug in stock and won't treat you like a leper. I posted online in the Newport FB group about this horrible experience and this employee has a long history of treating people poorly and has been reported multiple times. Why is she still employed? Why is someone who can die of Covid working behind the desk AT A PHARMACY?I Also, a suggestion: if you don't want sick people coming into a store that's called a PHARMACY, put a big sign out front directing customers to drive-thru! Tell them you don't carry the drug. Have masks available and hand sanitizer at the door! Also, call people who have the drug called in and tell them you don't have it and then they don't come for it. And for a year now they have not given me a timeframe when I call in the morning as to what point in the day it will be done. I called twice and got 'well it could be an hour or it could be hours'. Gave it a couple hours and went down there. They told me not yet ready and no indicators of when it would be so I did some grocery shopping for an hour then came back. They told me not yet so I sat in their waiting room for an hour. At which time the pharmacist came up to me and said 'I told you on the phone the first time it wouldn't be ready until 2:00. That's another hour and a half. You can come back then'. I told him I wished he would have said that in the first place or either time I came to the counter but no one gave me a timeframe until just now and that I will just wait here. The man turned red in the face and started screaming at me that I need to leave. Told me he was gonna call the cops if I stayed in the waiting room to wait for my script. It went downhill from there. I get they are overwhelmed and overworked. But there is no excuse. And frankly they should know how long it's gonna take to fill a script and tell you the first time you call, period. We switched pharmacy at that point and won't be back.

Dave answered, and told me that he only received one of them. I then called my doctors, and told them the pharmacy only received one. I was told by my doctors office that they faxed them both in. So, I called back to the pharmacy, and spoke with Dave again. I explained to him what my doctors office told me, and he told me in his own words that I'm only goin to you this once, I only received the one prescription. Before I can respond he hung up on me. This was very rude, all I was trying to do was see if there was mistake at the pharmacy, or to double check because it could've been overlooked. I called back, and spoke with James the store manager because this was not the first time I've had a bad experience with Dave the pharmacist, but after I explained the situation to him he said he was going to speak with him, and go look to see if it was there. They must have indeed found it because 10 minutes after my conversation with the store manager I received a text message saying my other prescription was ready too. After this experience with Dave at the pharmacy this will be my last prescription I get from them. Dave shouldn't be working in a customer service driven field, I wasn't rude with him, I was respectful like I am with everyone I encountered in customer service. I know they have a hard job as it is, and being disrespectful does not help, but for him to be rude when it was not necessary to be is not acceptable to me, and I bet I'm not they only person he had done this to. I will not be back to Safeway pharmacy.
