Get a security guard and push your vagrants and unhoused peoples at least 20 feet from your front door. why they make customers literally step over the homeless to enter the store is an unmitigated mystery of failed retail establishments. Or close up shop and let a more responsible business serve the community. Also the pharmacy line is always 45-60 mins long and though there's 3 registers, there's only ever one clerk. UPDATE: MORE MESS I've now been back twice and finally have the Rx's I've had for years. Earlier today they said my insurance wasn't active. It was. That I needed to call my insurance company. I did. I've been coming to this Rite Aid for years--used to get all my prescriptions here--and it's a shell of what it used to be. Speaking of prescriptions, I finally gave up on the pharmacy and transferred all mine elsewhere. The long lines and inability to get someone on the phone was so annoying. Also twice now they've been over half an hour late on a vaccine appointment. The last time they tried to claim my insurance didn't cover vaccines that weren't in a doctor's office--it does. In fact I've gotten many at this very Rite Aid in the past with the same insurance! I had to get my insurance company on the phone, and after a lot of back and forth it looks like the tech didn't enter my information correctly, which is what caused the problem. So, yeah, don't come here unless you want to be needlessly frustrated. read more

Its been very apparent this Rite Aid was closing down for sometime. With merchandise stretched across the shelving or empty shelving all together as of late. The pharmacists and their assistants are very nice and know my name without providing it. On the other hand those who man the registers in the pharmacy are usually extremely rude. Many wear masks and then scream at you when you can't understand what they are saying. A busy, iconic location now slated to shut down with my prescriptions being transferred to Ralphs, how odd. It seems poor corporate management has murdered a famous drug chain formerly known as Thrifty's. My aunt who worked for decades in their corporate office in Baldwin Hills would not believe what has happened. Now I must find a new pharmacy to fill my many prescriptions. read more

I went to the pharmacy for a vaccine appointment I had booked via the Rite Aid site (they were the only pharmacy that had a coupon for this particular one)--and when I went to the counter and said I was here for my vaccine appointment the pharmacist looked at me like I was crazy. She then told me they have no vaccines and then just sort of blew me off when I tried to show my appointment confirmation on my phone. This place is cooked. read more

What a horrible experience!!! After years of not going to Rite Aid I decided to give it a chance. I had an expensive inhaler that was prescribed by my doctor because of the severe asthma attacks. My pharmacy CVS had the inhaler but it's very pricey. So I thought to look around and see if I can find a coupon, sure enough I found a coupon from Rite Aid almost half off. CVS asked me to have Rite Aid call them to transfer the prescription. I start calling Rite Aid from 12:30PM over and over ... many times they picked up and they said "oh I can not hear you" and hung up on me. I'm very stubborn so I called back over 40 times. I have all my evidence. Finally some lady picked up, took my information and said they will call the CVS and I can get the inhaler. It got to 5pm and nothing from Rite Aid. Again I called and and called and called, no one picked up. I am breathing so heavily because of my asthma but I thought that I would drive there and see if I can figure it out. I go in front of the pharmacy window. Nobody on the phone and I actually tried and called to see if they would pick up. It rang, and no one bothered to pick up. Everyone seems having a great time, laughing and joking! (Please check the cameras if you think I'm not telling the truth, I'm with black tank top and black hat) I finally spoke to this lady and she said that she will call CVS. I asked if I can wait there because I cannot really breathe and she said no it will take at least two hours to get the inhaler ready. So I go home and wait! Someone called me from Rite Aid and said that CVS doesn't pick up the phone!!! I called CVS right away and they said they have already faxed the Prescription from the first phone call I made to Rite Aid And CVS have a receipt from the fax that Rite Aid has gotten the fax. They even explained that if Rite Aid doesn't accept the fax it will not go through and IT DID GO THROUGH because they have the receipt! Okay!!! So I drove back while I can barely breathe and the lady over there said we have not received anything and by this time CVS is closed and there's nothing that we can do until tomorrow. I asked for the manager, Ari And of course he is nowhere to be found. I asked why you guys are not answering your phone and she said the phone is not working properly! That's the excuse. I mean come on! I am back home with no inhaler and a horrible experience at Rite Aid. There is a reason that this store looks like a Ghost Town. No matter how you try to keep things beautiful, clean and add lighting to the store which I noticed but when you do NOT have a good customer service then none of the above matters. Please note that this is not an angry review, even though I am mad but when a shop has one of the best locations with a huge parking lot and inside is empty from customers then the management/corporate need to think hard and acknowledge the problem. Solve it instead of masking the problem with cute lighting, nice flooring and all that! I will stick to CVS, I much prefer to spend more money but get a better customer service. If you call CVS they have a protocol to call you within 15 minutes and if that doesn't happen, they are in a big trouble. Perhaps this is something you guys can do too. You're welcome! I received a text to pick up my prescription, drove there ( 20 minutes) being told the pharmacist is on lunch break for 1 hour, and when I asked a question about my prescription, the service woman ( Maria) flew off the handle for no reason. I have never had a good experience in this Rite Aid and I'm writing this review to remind myself to never ever go in there again. They play a not so fun game of locking everything behind a locked case with a button you push for help that doesn't work, only one employee working in the whole store, a manager that will maybe eventually come out and unlock the case and walk the meds up to the counter for you. I suggested to the manager to have the meds upfront behind the cashier since their buzzer doesn't work and she just completely ignored me and walked away. This will be my last time coming to rite aid.. as I was walking to pay for my water bottle, an elderly lady with dyed hair walked up to me and started harassing me because she didn't like that my shoes had holes in them. She has seen me here multiple times now.. my shoes have not changed at all in that time. She knows I'm homeless. This is nothing but targeted harrasment. I asked her to please stop harassing me, she refused.. I told her to stop talking to me with an aggressive tone, she didn't. I am a paying customer, I don't deserve to be treated this way. I over heard employees whispering about me being there to steal. It was bizarre. I've never once stolen from this rite aid.. I pay for my water and leave. I'm so sick of being harassed everytime I step foot inside this store. The woman harassing me made a huge scene, and she blocked me from going to self checkout. I just wanted to leave, it was so frustrating. I don't know what her goal was. Prevent me from paying? It made no sense. I was right there and trying to pay and she stood blocking self check out and would not stop talking about my appearance. When I asked her co workers what they thought about her harassing me, they all said nothing and gave me death stares. These same employees give me dirty looks every time I've previously come to this store. The two Hispanic ladies and black man working behind the counter did not care one bit that she was harassing me. None of them came over to tell her to back off. None of them had anything kind to say to me as I walked out of the store.. I'm a paying customer.. Management needs to fire all of them, they are losing you business. I never plan to return to this rite aid, or any rite aid location again. I will be calling the customer support number I was given. Previously I had not, but this harrasment has escalated to the point that I don't feel safe to step foot near this store. No one should be treated the way these four employees treated me today, and have been treating me over the last several weeks. Firstly, there are a few pharmacy members that are competent and provide good customer service here, but the vast majority of the pharmacy staff at this location are grossly unprofessional. I've had more incidents than I can count where pharmacy technicians and pharmacists here have been rude, disrespectful and had flagrant disregard for confidentiality. Wrong information is given all the time, including misrepresenting laws. There is a clear lack of care, concern, or even just reasonable answers to questions. The behavior of most of the staff at this Rite Aid pharmacy is unacceptable. I'd provide names of the pharmacist and pharmacy technician that was working today who were rude, unprofessional and were condescending but they refused to provide their names when I asked. It would be really hard to give my Rite Aid at 7900 Sunset Blvd LA CA 90046 a good review. I go mainly for the pharmacy and then I buy things that I need for the house once I'm there but whenever the head pharmacist is off duty the pharmacy literally collapses into a NON caring. NON friendly, Inhospitable place. Ari the head pharmacist does his very best to take care of everybody Even though they are usually critically understaffed. My wife and I have given up on trying to call Rite Aid pharmacy. You dial 323 876 4466 and you hit 8 then 8 again & then 1.. That's supposed to get you to a live pharmacy employee but it literally works one out of 25 times if you're lucky. Tonight 10/13/2023 they hit a new LOW. I made an appointment a week in advance to get a COVID booster shot I confirmed it online I filled out the papers, I showed up, Ask for my booster shot and was ignored for about 25 minutes and finally some nasty not-attractive women told me I did not have an appointment for a Covid Booster shot and then ignored me but I asked her to show me because I had the confirmation in my phone.. I really couldn't believe the rudeness of this lady. She seemed genuinely annoyed that I wanted a COVID booster shot. She would be much better suited working in a jail or prison. I've been shopping at this Rite Aid for 35 years. it used to be called Thrifty drugs. I really wish there was another pharmacy that's open late close to my house. Take your prescriptions to another business if it's possible. Monthly meds became a nightmare to obtain without enduring tremendous amount of stress due to a staff that could use customer service training and who should learn to provide accurate information. I simply had experienced enough double-talk when I was picking up my meds for a chronic illness. I was told several were back ordered... the automated texts said they were all ready. When I advised the tech I would be out of the missing daily meds in 3 days and inquired when they would arrive, she replied that she couldn't provide delivery information... followed with I'm afraid to tell you. During the previous months that exact thing had happened. I called West Knoll Pharmacy and had all my prescriptions, 8 of them, transferred and they delivered the next day! Ari is the one person who actually goes beyond to help when he's there ... I hope he finds another pharmacy where his advocacy on behalf of his customers is welcomed and appreciated. read more

Not good, I'm afraid. I am saddened that this inconsistent and error-prone pharmacy is the closest to me. I've been shortchanged on pills (running out about 10 days before my prescription was due to be renewed). I've gone in to find they gave my prescription to another customer. I've had them not answer the phone on my first 5 tries. No matter how many times I asked them to use GoodRx it took them around 5 times to stop trying to charge me the more expensive insurance option. The people are courteous but they are running this poorly. read more

I'd like to preface this by saying that everyone who works here is VERY NICE. I've had great in-person interactions with all the pharmacy employees there and am so thankful for their help and support, truly. I just think it would be helpful if the pharmacy was reachable by phone. That way, customers wouldn't have to wait days or even weeks to find out if their prescriptions are ready... if they are even able to be filled in the first place. It used to be that the Rite Aid phone number would lead you to their menu, transfer to the pharmacy, then ring and ring forever before routing you back to the menu again. Frustrating as hell. In the past month or so, however, I've noticed a trend where their phone doesn't ring at all. It gives a sad little half ring then HANGS UP ON YOU COMPLETELY before you even get to the menu. As a person who works full time and relies on my meds to help my life stay manageable, this has been a huge source of stress and frustration. Not sure if it's a phone issue or a staffing issue, but I truly hope they figure it out and fix it SOON. read more

I've been trying to get my medication for over a month. The pharmacy does not pick up their phone and their excuse is "the phones don't not working very often". I came in two weeks after my first prescription and they said that the rules have changed and you now need a code. Fine. My doctor resent with the code. I came in twice in two weeks and they told me that I have to come back. Wow! Today be my fifth time back. They finally refilled my order while I waited. Exhausted but finally happy. read more

The pharmacy is a COMPLETE DISASTER. Ralph's transferred a prescription over so I could save $20+ by using my Good/Gold RX card. They sent the prescription over around 6:25pm. I called Rite Aid after to see if they received it. They had no idea what I was calling about. I called Ralph's back and they said they already sent it. I called Rite Aid back 5x. Complete mess. I walked 20 minutes to Rite Aid to see what was going on. They said they didn't have it and that the pharmacist was on break. They said to come back in an hour. I called Ralph's back and asked again if it was sent and they said yes. Ralph's couldn't fill it again because it left their store. I walked back, called Rite Aid and said to transfer to back to Ralph's as I was back there. Ride Aid said they could fill it in 15 minutes. I insisted they send it back and they said it's no problem now and that they can fill it so I walked another 20 minutes back. I got there and the lady at the pick-up area said nothing was filled. The pharmacist was walking by and said she just filled it. I went to show the Good/Gold RX card and they said I had to wait another 20 minutes until the pharmacist came back from another break so they could apply the discount card. As the pharmacist was still walking out, she said it was my fault I didn't give them the Good RX card #. I said the other 8x I called, they never had the prescription so I didn't mention it until now. This was never a problem at any other pharmacies in Los Angeles during the past 25 years that I've lived here. I left at 8:25pm with no prescription and I don't even know if they're capable of sending it back to Ralph's and I don't think the doctor can call in another one because you're only allowed so many per the time frame. I reported this 2x to the store manager. He said he's received so many complaints about the pharmacy and he keeps telling the manager to get his staff together but nothing ever happens. I will be calling the 800 # tomorrow to report this. There were 3 other people in front of me who also had problems. One lady demanded to talk to the pharmacist before she went on break to no avail. THIS IS AWFUL!!!!!!!! People are leaving the store with no prescriptions due to the negligence of the people working in the pharmacy. read more

Had an appointment for covid booster at pharmacy but they could not give it because their computer was not working. I'm a health care provider. When our computers are not working we have downtime procedures to continue work. I had email and printed confirmation of my appointment and that I had prefilled out all the questions. They could have given me the booster, kept paperwork, and updated their system later, if they had the proper procedures in place. But they don't. read more

Despite being assured that my prescription was ordered on Monday, I have faced continuous setbacks. After six persistent phone calls today, I was informed to contact my doctor for a prescription change, leaving me frustrated and inconvenienced. What's more concerning is the lack of communication during the past six days. No effort was made to inform me or my doctor about the unavailability of the prescribed drugs. Shockingly, it seems RiteAid stocks cheaper generic brands and charges insurances for full-price brand names. It is absolutely inexcusable that I can't reach anyone at the pharmacy after more than 9 attempts for the past two days. I get hold music and then the line disconnects after I patiently wait. When customers are paying normal prices for prescriptions, basic customer services must be extended to maintain this business. I got a vague automated voicemail saying something is ready for pick up but I have a question. The pharmacy here apparently also cannot correctly push ready prescriptions info into the customers app. My previous Rite Aid that just closed managed to do this just fine. Ironically, if at least this part was handled right I probably wouldn't even need to be phoning in the first place. I am moving my prescriptions to a different pharmacy. read more

My friend went to pick up the medication for the surgery she had had that day. Calling different pharmacies revealed that they were not able to disclose whether or not they had the class 3 narcotics she was prescribed in stock. She was turned away without any information on which pharmacy she should try next after telling them she had been to several already (it was after hours and many had closed so her options as to where to go were a bit far from each other.) The women just looked at her and the visible staples in her head from her craniotomy, as she begged for help and they coldly and curtly replied they would not even place the phone call for her.
