I needed someone to cut my hair , and as always it is hard to find someone that can cut it right ( course, red hair ) . I only went to River Blue Salon because every other hair salon in town was booked solid. I will forever be grateful! They did a fabulous job and was very knowledgeable about the way to cut the different textures hair . I will be getting my hair cuts and styles there from now on ! read more

Unfortunately, my experience was less than pleasurable. My youngest daughter was getting married and all of the ladies from the wedding party had appointments for hair and some for makeup also. I was charged for an updo and only had a few curls placed in short hair that was already washed and dried. The curls did not stay. I left the salon at 11:00 am and by 1:00 pm, my hair was a straight lifeless mess. The bride ended up curling and I did the rest to look at least presentable for the pictures at 2:30. I was asked how it looked by the stylist, I expressed my concern and it was met with a shrug of the shoulders by her. Imagine my surprise when I got the bill for her shoddy service. My makeup was done very well by a different stylist and the brides hair and makeup was amazing. read more

Yep shows me as from CA, incorrect, I live in RED Wing, MN. My elderly mom and I went in for a "splurge" after Covid restrictions were done. The salon is beautiful. It was empty except for us, many employees hanging out at front desk. We asked for cut and style, I was paired with a young stylist whom it seems recently started. Although there was a nice area of assorted beverages available, I was never asked if I wanted anything. Stylist seemed to be somewhat bored, she didn't really listen to what I wanted, just wanted to get done and get us out. Mom's stylist was the same, took more time with her than I received, but not very personable. Went to pay, holy moly they are EXPENSIVE! For two very simple haircuts and styles with reasonable tip, $140. I could understand a huge cost like that if the staff were more friendly, more involved with what they are doing, and if we'd been pampered and treated really well. Not the case at all. I think if you go in looking really wealthy they may treat you better? I agree with a previous review, staff acts like they are "better than you" never been to such a stuck up salon. Awesome staff everyone here was so friendly! When I walked in I was immediately greeted and they knew who I was and I've never been there before. That was great. Then I didn't have to wait at all and I was in for a facial for the first time and the person that did it was really nice. I would recommend this place to anyone! read more

My first time coming here the hair stylist was a 1/2 hour late to getting my haircut. This hair stylist told me that NOT washing my hair would be easier for her to cut it. The second coming here the same hair stylist did NOT wash my hair again and told me that it would cost more. And she cut my bangs awfully too short. I told her to trim my layers half of it was NOT trimmed. The receptionist never greeted me as I sat on a chair for 15 minutes looking right at her. I finally stood up and walked over to her and introduced myself. The receptionist had a negative attitude and NOT a warm welcoming attitude. I quickly observed all employees attitudes for 30 minutes and took mental notes...The employees attitudes is think they are better than everyone including the clients, they communicate very smack attitudes, don't listen to clients or to other employees, act like they know everything. NOT at all polite, comes off rudely, and truthfully unskilled haircuts. But acts like they know how to cut hair. 2 worse haircuts I have ever had on top of it!! read more
