This wasn't just a rafting trip, it was one of the most fun days we've had in a long time. Honestly, it felt like spending the day at an amusement park, except there were no long lines, no concrete, no crowds... just an incredible river, beautiful scenery, and a whole lot more excitement than we expected. From the moment we arrived, everything was organized, professional, and friendly. The guides were outstanding. They struck the perfect balance between making everyone feel safe and keeping the trip fun and entertaining. You could tell they genuinely love what they do. The Nolichucky Gorge is absolutely gorgeous. Between the rapids, calm stretches, and mountain scenery, we couldn't stop smiling. It was adventure without feeling intimidating. As for value, I honestly don't know of many experiences that give you this much fun for the money. If you're looking for something different to do with your spouse, family, or friends, this is it. We left exhausted, soaked, laughing, and already talking about coming back. Five stars isn't enough. We are also a bit older (59) and had no issues getting into or out of the tube or manipulating the rocks in the shallow spots. For twenty five dollars a person you get a tube, a ride in an old van to a drop off location and…read morepicked up and returned to your vehicle when you complete the trek. No time limit (although I assume you need to be back before they close). Such a great deal! Seven of us (three adults, four kids) reserved our spot over the phone. This required a small down payment. We arrived at our scheduled time, filled in a waiver for each person tubing, sized out a life vest for our six year old and then hopped into a van to go to the dropoff point. On the way to our drop-off the van driver instructed us on the river landmarks that would be important for our safe and timely return. She also gave us a humorous "tour" of the "town" we pass thru on the way to the drop-off. She provided us some straps so we could strap two of the younger riders to an adult. We spent about four hours on the water. The river was wide enough and appointments staggered enough that at no point did I feel crowded or rushed. We stopped at one spot to ride the rapids, eat lunch and swim, we stopped at another to jump off a rock wall into the water. Upon arriving at the pickup spot we snapped some photos (great view) and only waited for about ten minutes until the van to take us back arrived. If you love being on the water or spending time in nature, I'd recommend tubing with Loafers Glory.

After a detailed safety briefing, we were driven to the put in location. After a very relaxing float that included some rapids, we were provided with free photos and video of our adventure. In my case, I struck something sharp in the water, deflating my tube. Another group that started the same time we did called the owners for me, and in just a few minutes, I had a new tube! This is a well run, affordable business with the greatest owners! Close to Asheville in Marshal, NC. Don't waste your time anywhere else, this is where you need to be!!!

Our appointment was at 1:30 & didn't get on the water until 3:48! Did not communicate that we had to have our floats blown up prior to arriving most places have no problem providing air and prefer to load with them noninflated to the drop off area. We were the only cars there, no other people were waiting. Upon driving past the river I asked if the water was too low to safely tube, she advised no, there would be no worries. However soon found out that was lie. We have to get out of our tubes and walk across very slippery rocks several times during the trip. Leading to several falls and injuries. As well as 3 popped tubes!! We've used these tubes for years at other tubing venues. When they drop you off they don't even assist you getting down to the river. They just drop you at the road and leave. The area for getting on and out of the river doesn't have a nice dock or pathway like most places provide. It's a hike through tall grass and navigating through and over tree roots. Luckily we had a nice conservation officer who assisted us, stating it's easier to do it ourselves and where to put in as well as getting out. They don't even wait to make sure you get out of the water safely. The shop was closed by the time we were done with everyone gone. Do yourself a favor and go with a different company...She even called my friend who booked for us and yelled about my review on Facebook. That is unacceptable and very unprofessional, as a business woman she should be able to accept criticism and my friend is liable for comments. Were adults and allowed to express our concerns and honest review. But don't worry we won't be back. Zen tubing in Asheville was an amazing trip and even though a further drive that's were we will return.
