We are weird as we like to treat ourselves to restaurants out of our own city. I had researched the Stebbins before. It seemed like a worthy place for our celebration. So we called and made a reservation (good thing we did, as they were turning people away without one); and took the scenic drive to Algoma. We got there early and sat at the bar. We told the barkeep we were there for our anniversary celebration. That was the right thing to say as the staff fawned us after that. We had a couple of Tanqueray and tonics that were sufficiently stout. The bar area was fairly raucous as the Brewer's game was on. Then we found out we could eat at the bar. So we ordered some onion rings. I know they're not that good for you; but they are my guilty pleasure. Their onion rings are pretty dang good. At our appointed time we were shown to the dining room, which we found surprisingly small. Our waitress was a perky and friendly lass and her service was great. 99% of the time I'm an ovo-lacto vegetarian. On that one percent I'll channel the pescatarian in me. So will my wife. So I ordered a shrimp dish and she ordered fish. Both of our meals were excellent. My side was baby red potatoes. My wife had a twice baked potato. Just a tip to the restaurant, the presentation and meal would have benefited with a green vegetable on the plate, broccoli, please. As I said our waitress was very efficient and pleasant. After our meal she said "I hear it's your anniversary, don't go away". In a few minutes she brought us a rather large strawberry short cake. It was delicious, the perfect end to a fine meal. It was on the house! We look forward to returning for another meal and perhaps a two night stay, as the hotel seems to be 19th century classic. All in all it was a great experience. If you are looking for a special place it would behoove you to check this place out. Kudos

I had a little issue with a noisy group shooting pool and playing music late but staff on duty took care of it. Maybe they could post a sign in the room that the pool room closed at say 10 pm on weeknights or just lock the door. As for the decor, I've noticed comments on here about it being outdated... that's the charm people! It's got a retro feel.. that's what I loved about it. It's an old hotel in an old established town . But it has been updated! They've just kept the retro charm. The staff was very kind and friendly. I'd stay again

My room was clean with plenty of hot water and towels. The WiFi and cable worked very well. My room had a small fridge and a microwave. After dinner I sat on their deck and watched the sun set with a glass of bourbon. The next morning I had the included breakfast which was delicious. Waffles, eggs, sausage patties, donuts and Door County coffee. There were many other options for breakfast as well. WOW If you are like me and pass through Algoma on your way to Door County, stop and check out this nice little town and Scenic Shore Inn.

A rare mom n pop motel that is clean and maintained. Rooms are ready by 1:00 p.m. and there is a cold breakfast in the office. By cold I just mean they aren't able to have waffle irons and hot food due to space and state regulations the owners quickly told me, although I didn't ask. There is a small table and two chairs outside of every room to sit and enjoy the view and the cool fresh air off the lake. There are no negatives from the owners but just be aware located on a state highway it's very noisy late into the night with trucks and motorcycles racing and many cars that don't seem to have mufflers in the area, an oddity I suppose.

You can rent unique, furnished apartments at The Haven right along Lake Michigan. The Haven is in walking distance to some of Algoma's great food and drink such as Skaliwags, Von Stiehl winery, and Ahnapee brewing. We stayed only one night in the two bedroom suite. It was fully furnished, including amenities and a fully equipped kitchen! We absolutely loved the decor and loved staying there. Sara was a wonderful host. We hope to return soon. PS - pet friendly!

I enjoyed sitting on the balcony having my morning coffee while enjoying the lake view. It had a nice living room, and the bedroom had a comfortable bed. I couldn't have been happier. It was less than a five minute walk to the grocery store and restaurants. I am hoping to visit again next October. Thank you Sara for my wonderful visit.

I had to cancel my reservations for 4 days became after second day chasing several flies I had it. I did not drive 30 hours to chase flies or fleas (see photos) and paying $109. Is a rip off, I stayed at Quality inn and they had better everything and when I complained that my room was not made up, two older women were mad and nasty to me for asking. We are respectful of shared spaces, clean up after ourselves, and aren't excessively active. We checked in around 4pm, got to our room, and immediately spent time at the beach. We stopped back at our room for about 10 minutes to change before dinner. We got back to the motel to settle in at around 8-830pm, and started to unpack our things and get ready to play a card game. Around 9pm, we received a call from the front desk stating that the downstairs folks complained that it sounds like "elephants" up here and we need to keep it down. We were just unpacking our things, nothing wild, but I answered with enthusiasm that I would let my kids and partner know to keep the noise down. 5 minutes later, the complainant from downstairs showed up at our door in anger, in front of our children, and wouldn't leave. He shoved his foot in the door so I couldn't shut it, and only backed away when my partner stepped up to the door. We thought that would be the end of it, but the hotel attempted to call again and left us a voicemail saying that we were now required to move rooms to the bottom floor. We specifically chose a second floor room for safety, as the bottom floor rooms have two doors that open directly to the outside, and I suggested that the people below us could move instead, but I was told "don't you try and argue with me, you either move rooms or check out tomorrow." We secured much more family-friendly lodging down the road.

Staff was very welcoming and there were several places to sit and enjoy the lake views. Would definitely come back! Bailey's Harbor was also a perfect home base for excursions to Cana Island Lighthouse and Washington Island, with the additional benefit of being less touristy than other areas we visited. This was one of those times. There was nothing incredibly opportunistic while at Coho Motel outside of a stray hair in our tub, I am weird about hygiene and cleanliness, and we must have been in the old building which would explain the musty smell. Outside of that, the staff was welcoming upon check in and on our way out. The space was what we needed and nothing more; a place to sleep. Thanks guys.

The condos are nicely decorated and very clean. There is basic kitchen cookware and utensils. They always have Door County coffee, which is really good. I like the big jetted bathtub in the bathroom. There is also a shower. This resort is off the beaten path but that is what I love about it. Every room has a view of the lake. The beach and resort grounds are very nice. I like to enjoy the open windows and patio doors to hear the waves. There is a small indoor pool and hot tub. Both are nice. And clean. The restaurant right next door is amazing. Super cool inside with great drinks and food. Make reservations! I think the prices are inline with other resorts in DoCo. Super friendly staff. I know I'll be back next Fall!

Breakfast was hit or miss depending on what you ordered. The eggs in my eggs benedict were overdone, which was a bummer. Prices are high, but that is expected of Door County. I think we'd return to have dinner, but I wouldn't stay here again (despite the really good cookies you get).

They have online booking, I didn't use it as I prefer to call. The staff was friendly, letting me know this was an offsite cabin and they would charge my credit card right away for 50% of the rental. They also went over the cancellation policy. What they Didn't Tell me was there wasn't any WIFI at the cabin. One star taken away. There are 3 little cabins along the side of the road in Little Harbor 6 feet from the shore that are owned by Snug Harbor. Halfway between Sturgeon Bay and Egg Harbor. The cabin was old, very rustic and immaculately clean. Small bedroom with a queen bed, living room with loveseat, chair and working wood fireplace. They even supplied the wood! Small dining area with a kitchenette that had, cookware, dishes, silverware, towels, toaster, coffee maker with coffee, stove and refrigerator with freezer. Very nice. They even had fresh flowers on the table to greet us. The bathroom was small and nicely stocked with soaps, shampoo and conditioner. The only downside to the cabin is it's lack of light/ lighting fixtures. We had a nice deck overlooking the water, a fire pit feet off shore, outdoor grill and enough sun and shade to make it the perfect hang out spot on a long weekend.

There are grills and picnic tables outside to enjoy the waterfront and a community fire pit for gathering in the the evenings. We also rented a boat for two days and were able to use the dock right outside. Laurel at the front desk is so welcoming the staff is quick to respond and make our stay both comfortable and memorable.
