We just absolutely loved our stay here…read more Reserved a 3 bedroom 3 bath house with a private dock directly on the river. Arrived around 8 at night and needless to say it's quite dark on these parts but the caretakers left the house brightly lit so we could easily pick it out. The house itself was gorgrous! A huge chefs kitchen...2 bedrooms and 2 baths downstairs. The mater suite was upstairs and to die for. Separate living room..big comfy bed...a western style soaking tub..water closet..and french doors the opened to the balcony over looking the river. There was a huge dining table inside as well as a table om the deck overlooking the river where u could eat as well. The kitchen had every utensil..pot or pan that you'd ever need. We Even Got To Use The fireplace as a cold front came through dropping it down to 50 before it quickly passed and went up to 80 One of the cabins is known for Jimmy carter staying there. They have a petting zoo which was fun at first but after a few minutes you could tell it isn't high on their priority list which bothered me a bit. There is also a small chapel amd really large cabin for receptions or reunions. Our rental was $650 plus taxes etc. Well worth every penny. There were a few cute local restaurants nearby we enjoyed as well directly on the river. It really is a very nice area!

We loved the grounds with the walking paths, great for the pup and well lit at night. Brought our boat and parked in the trailer parking areas which was great! Docked up one afternoon during our river cruise. Amenities are great. Didn't use the pool but that is a definite perk. Dog run is great. Grounds were well taken care of. Perfect little getaway. Our cottage had a grill (had to buy charcoal- keep in mind if you want to bring for your stay). Bed super comfy. Shower/tub was an adventure. Has a beautiful, very large pool that was quite enjoyable to swim in the afternoon, especially with the shade of an oak tree, that cast a shadow across the pool. Naomi was our host and she saw to our needs. The room was quite nice. Had a small kitchen with a stove, oven sink, refrigerator, and a king size bed. We went out to dinner one night, but cooked our scallops on the second night. It was a perfect laid-back atmosphere for a getaway weekend. You will enjoy this place. We will be back

I will go ahead and start this review off by letting you know that this is not a Hilton nor…read moreanything close. But what it is is a perfect place to stay during scalloping season. Our room was clean and got the job done for only $135 that included two twin bed's, a queen bed, a refrigerator, microwave, a small bathroom, and a boat slip in their marina which is a huge win in my book. They also have a store located in the motel office that sells just about everything you would need for a fishing/scalloping trip including a small selection of alcohol. At the marina they sell fuel and ice and also have some super nice people who will clean your scallops for eight dollars a pound which is well worth it in my book. They also rent boats at the marina. Attached to the motel is the who dat bar and grill which puts out the best seafood in the city hands down. I will forewarn you that if you are coming to Steinhatchee to go scalloping, go to your local grocery store to stock up on drinks, alcohol, snacks, and breakfast items bc there is only one grocery store in the town which is pretty much sold out of everything. I also would like to warn you that there is no service in this entire town. So make sure that you let everyone know this before heading on your vacation so your friends and family don't think you're dead. Happy scalloping!

This place should be called "Bad Times." We booked a boat…read morerental months in advance for a scalloping weekend with friends. Check-in went smoothly, but when we took our paperwork to the dock, we were told they didn't actually have the boat we reserved. They put us in a different boat, which wasn't ideal, but we accepted it and enjoyed our first day. We had rented the boat for two days, so we kept the keys overnight as instructed. The next morning, we arrived to find that our boat was gone. They had rented it to someone else, even though we had already paid for a two-day rental. Since every marina in the area was fully booked for the weekend, this completely disrupted our plans. Their solution was simply to offer us a refund and send us on our way--no apology, no effort to help us find another boat, and no concern for the fact that our weekend had been ruined. Only after we made it clear that this wasn't an acceptable solution did they suddenly "find" another boat for us. Then, to make matters worse, they told us we would have to pay for a half-day rental on this replacement boat. At that point, we just wanted to salvage what was left of our weekend, so we agreed and planned to sort it out later. Unfortunately, the replacement boat was in terrible condition. It had engine problems, wouldn't go faster than about 7 mph, and on the way back in engine was not running too well. We called the marina because we genuinely didn't think we'd make it back safely. They told us they were sending someone to tow us in--but no one ever came. When we finally made it back on our own, they only charged us for gas because I refused to pay for a boat that was clearly not functioning properly. Mistakes happen, but what matters is how a business handles them. This marina repeatedly dropped the ball, showed little concern for their customers, and failed to make things right. I would not recommend renting a boat here.

He was available on really short notice for a sunset cruise to Marker 1 in the Gulf of Mexico. Pretty ride, great conversation. A highlight of the weekend! Rained 29" on my short trip so no scalloping. Rescheduled but bad weather due to Hurricane Dorian so missed the season this year. Scheduled a quick visit for a Steinhatchee River nature tour upstream. The river is beautiful and the Captain is very friendly. It was a wonderful peaceful ride. Next time, I'll schedule a fishing trip!
