Whether you're a local or just passing through the area, this park makes a great place for the kiddos to burn off some energy and enjoy themselves.

The park features playground and picnic sites that are directly on the lake as well as covered picnic shelters, restrooms and a beautiful scenic overlook. Friday nights are when the Carolina Show Ski Team puts on their free waterski shows. Note that parking is by permit only and the permits are not free. There is a pavilion with benches too which can make for some scenic picnics. In the summer, the park can get pretty busy but nothing unbearable as there is plenty of space. Make sure to be careful with parking as you need a Tega Cay parking pass and sometimes police will make rounds. The main attraction of the park is the sunset during the summer. Towards the back of the park, there are plenty of benches and swings that overlook most of Lake Wylies. As the sun sets, there is a perfect angle that makes for an amazing view. All in all, this park is worth a visit and makes for a fun, cheap outing.

Tournament was delayed by two hours due to rain. When we arrived the fields looked great and there was ample space to set up your own seating. A few trips were made to the bathroom by my group and no complaints. At one point, one person when to the concession stand to see what was on the menu as we were starting to get hungry. Come to find out that even though teams were still playing, the concession stand had closed. Most places would make an adjustment to their schedule for delayed tournaments to ensure they stayed open during the last games. This may be an external group that runs them, and I get it, it's just tough to corral hungry children and convince them they'll be fine for awhile longer.

People seem to be completely ignoring the signs because the park was incredibly crowded and no one was social distancing. Luckily, we were able to find a secluded picnic table to sit at and eat our lunch. It seemed like a nice park and I would have loved to stay and walk around on some of the trails, but I wasn't comfortable doing that considering how crowded it is. I'd recommend trying to find a less popular park than this one if you're just trying to spend some time outside.

There are no public events or games here today but the park is ready for you if you need to get some sunshine. Eight large soccer fields, all of them lighted. A structure with concessions and restrooms and a meeting room. Large playground to keep the other little ones occupied. My favorite part? The 1.1 mile loop around the outer edge of the park. We pack a little picnic, comfy folding chairs, and purchase delightful adult beverages from the Canteen. I recently tried the goat yoga class ( see website for dates, limited). I laughed so hard nearly the entire class. Arrive early and they will let you hold a baby or just pet little goats until class starts. Yoga class itself was not too serious- do what you can, stretch yourself to your own comfort level, and enjoy being in nature with baby goats. New Moon Flower Farm provided the baby goats and the yoga instructor was from Tega Cay. Kids participated too, and the energy of the young was infectious.
