I want to take a moment to share my experience with Riverpoint Behavioral Health's outpatient therapy program, as it is something I have only recently started within the past month. Even in this short time, it has already become one of the most impactful parts of my healing journey, and I still have a long way to go. Because of that, I feel especially grateful for the support I am receiving at this stage. From the very beginning, I have felt supported, heard, and guided in a way that has helped me begin doing deeper internal work. The program does not just focus on surface level coping. It truly encourages you to dig into yourself, understand patterns, and begin to see things from a more honest and self-aware perspective. That level of care has already started to make a meaningful difference in my progress, even early on. The group therapy sessions in particular have been incredibly valuable. Being in a space with others who are also working through their own challenges creates a sense of connection and understanding that is hard to find elsewhere. The therapists do a wonderful job of creating a safe, respectful, and structured environment where people feel comfortable opening up. I have learned just as much from listening to others as I have from my own reflections in group. What stands out most to me is how intentional the program feels. It is clear that the staff are not just going through motions. They are actively invested in helping people grow, heal, and build real insight into themselves. Avoid this place at all costs. Do not send your loved ones here. The psychiatrists don't care about you and are very intimidating. One of them tried to pressure me into electro-convulsive therapy. I have autism and have trouble understanding things, and I was forced to sign papers that I didn't understand and they had no intention of explaining it to me. I was kept longer than I was supposed to be there, and only was able to get a discharge date because I got an attorney. Multiple nurses and a social worker mistook me for the wrong person, giving me the wrong discharge date. That is extremely dangerous because what if they let out the wrong person? I had multiple meltdowns due to my autism and none of the nurses helped me or even acknowledged me. There was a woman on the unit with me who had 4 seizures in one day, and none of the nurses helped her either. They fed us spoiled food two times in a row, and only got new food when the whole unit spoke out. And then a few days later they continued to serve spoiled milk. Someone found a clump of hair in his food. There were bugs in my bed. They gave me a supposedly clean towel that had fecal stains on it. I genuinely have no idea how this place isn't shut down yet. I was psychologically tortured and neglected for 8 days. This place is a health hazard and they clearly have zero care for anyone here. They only want the insurance payments from you. read more

The quality of service at River Point has dropped off drastically in the past 5 years. An adult family member chose to go to River Point because of the positive experience they received 5 years ago. This in-patient stay was dramatically worse. The staff questioned and denied the health issues of the patient and even went so far as to tell other patients that she was not sick. Multiple times they failed to call when they said they would. I had to repeatedly call to get information. Visitation is only for 1 hour 1 day per week. I would recommend seeking other options. read more

They seem to think the tv is a babysitter or provides some mental health benefit; it doesn't. Most staff smokes or vapes. I fell there, and couldn't get a band aid. I got a big scar on my elbow. They don't care; they are was supposed to be off their cell phones, but the nurses and Tech's pull them out of their pockets all the time. Find better care for you or your loved one. read more

If your looking for treatment I would look elsewhere. As I was a patient and they treated me like crap. They tryed to destroy my marriage. They gave me no privacy. They even refused me to have access at times to shower or just a change of clothes. While also depriving me of sleep. Some of the staff is rude and disrespectful at the same time. They lock the room doors during the day and have all patients use one bathroom that is hardly cleaned. Of crouse there are many more problems with this facility. My daughter who is 14 teen has been here for 12 days. I have had no contact from my daughter. I called many of times. I have spoken to many employees. Walter supervisor no help. A therapist hung up on me. An caseworker hung up on me. They tell me my daughter refuses to talk with me. My daughter is in the place for mental challenges. Im being made to feel like I've done something wrong. I filed a complaint with the state. This place is holding my daughter from me. The staff lied to me on several occasions. Absolutely ATROCIOUS conditions This place was not designed to help anyone but the people making the money. If you've got insurance, especially good insurance bc prepared to bc imprisoned there for longer. Doesn't matter whether you need to be there or not. They did it to everyone there. If a patient DID NOT have insurance they were out that door not a second beyond their baker act. I wasn't even suicidal & was somehow baker acted, & in all my assessments I reported no anxiety, no depression, no desire or urge to hurt myself or others, my mood was always fair or good, and if it was bad it was bc of something they were doing. They kept me for a week FOR NO REASON. I had no place go & they said DAY ONE they would be trying to find me a place to go when I was out. When my discharge day came they ASKED ME, if I knew where I was going. I was shocked. When I told them that they said they would take care of they said, "oh yeah, that's right." She went to make a call, came back, & said, "well, looks like we're roughing it friend", then they tossed me out on the streets. It was so infuriated. I'm also Autistic with HIGH SUPPORT NEEDS, they did not care. As long as they could feed off your insurance they did not care what happened to you. That place is HORRIBLE for anyone, but as an Autistic adult the schedule was so draining. They would force you up at 530am & we sat in a small room slightly larger than a Mental Health Resource Center (MHRC) Pod bathroom. There were nearly 30 of us in there at one point. We couldn't go to bed till 10pm. We had groups where the staff would spend 30mins to a hour feeding us outdated or incorrect information. Or they'd open traumatic wounds with no intent to help you process or heal it. I think it was intentional to break people to keep them there longer. The food had no nutrition. Someone I met there was terminally ill with kidney disease & they literally started getting sick, going in and out of consciousness, and TURNING YELLOW. Not only did the staff not help her they didn't even have a doctor on staff that day. The next day when the doctor did come in she still didn't see him, and when she tried to get his attention HE RAN! They dismissed her concerns & said it was in her head. Her father had to literally blow up their phones & yell at them to let her out. And even then they still were fighting him on it, & even lied to try to keep her there longer. Talked to her when she was out she saw her doctors & had ACTUAL FOOD & started healing immediately. They would've killed her had it not been for her father. I had a terrible experience with the psychiatrist. Took they days to even see me. When I finally did see her she was distracted, chewing gum, and on her phone. When she finally spoke to me I talked for a minute about why I was there which involved caretaker abuse, neglect, abandonment, & exploitation that had solid evidence including police reports, records, & even body cam footage of me going to police, evidence Riverpoint never asked for. But she had the nerve to say, "what is the common factor here?", then proceeded to tell me that it was all in my head. This was infuriating & I refused to go further with her. We hadn't even been sitting there for 2 minutes. She said, "either you're the unluckiest person ever or you're making it up", remember what I said, there was an ongoing investigation! The abuse was even recorded in my medical records! This is how I bonded with the other patient I spoke of above. Because they didn't believe her & she came up to check on me bc she heard me express how angry I was that they'd deny this incredibly traumatic experience I had. We both had good insurance though, so trying to make us seem schizophrenic benefited them so they could stuff us full of experimental pills from the corporations they were in bed with. The corruption in this place is deep. There are few good staff & it is no surprised. Upper management makes the place a horrible place to be for patients & staff. Good staff won't stay, & they shouldn't. How this place is not neck deep in litigation is beyond me. They need to fire everyone at the top, bc they have ruined this facility to pad their own pockets. They don't even allow the place to be staffed appropriately for the number of patients in the ward, so when something bad happens they blame the patients or staff then implement crazy rules that do nothing but make the situation worse. They don't have enough staff to enforce these ridiculous rules. When I left this place, homeless, I had to recover from being at River Point. It was detrimental being there for me & caused far more harm than good. I can confidently say it did NO GOOD. this place was terrible. i was placed in the children's ward of october 24. patients were out lashing and we were not allowed to hug or have any physical contact with the other person. i've had lots of trauma here considering i had to get booty juiced. do not take your children here no matter how bad it gets at home. read more

Parents PLEASE do not take your children here NO MATTER HOW BAD THINGS ARE AT HOME!!! GO TO WOLFSONS!!! I took my 10 yr/o autistic child here for help over his behaviors. We signed paperwork, went over his meds and they admitted him. The very next morning, i get a call from an extremely rude woman named JENNY. She told me that my son had to be taken via ambulance to another hospital because he was having seizures. My sons epilepsy has been under complete control for 2 years until this.... I asked her why they were not giving my sons his seizure meds to which she replied "our pharmacy didnt release his meds yet." I asked JENNY why didnt they give him the meds that WE WERE INSTRUCTED TO BRING... she got mouthy and hostile (you know...because she is a horrible person and only there for a paycheck), and then threatened to hang up the phone on me...because me getting mad because of MEDICAL NEGLECT resulting in a dangerous situation is my fault right? Check it out! Right on their own website it says to bring 3 days of meds in the rx bottles... They even had his epilepsy meds labeled as anxiety meds!!! Their negligence could have cost my boy his life, could have caused another status seizure, brain damage or death...... This only proves that their staff hasnt got a clue and will potentially cause MORE HARM to your child. JENNY wasnt the only rude staff member there either. RIVERPOINT! You have 120 google reviews and a 1.7 out of 5 star rating. Maybe its time to close up shop or FIRE ALL STAFF THERE and replace them with people who are actually looking to make a difference in a childs life instead of FKing it up more! Don't ever go here wouldn't even give it a one star it's been maybe a year since I was there I have severe trauma not only are the patients taunting the workers are so rotten and disgusting they force you to take meds and tell you you will not be able to leave unless you do what they say the "doctor" has a starring issue all he could do was stare at my 16 year old BOOBS! TAKES MY NON WIRE BRA AWAY WHILE I WAS WEARING A SEE THROUGH SHIRT THEN ANOTHER GUY WORKER DID THE SAME EXACT THING THE WHOLE 30 minutes we were discussing my mental health while I was there there were a few patients who got pychsical and the staff ignored itt until all the patients where like get her help her and they still didn't have not one urgency to do so as well while we are all trapped with no clocks no windows to look out if they decide when we brush our teeth whether we do or not sometime we didn't sometimes we wouldn't even shower it really depends on who's shift it is another comment I'd like you all the know first they make u take meds before diagnosis as well the staff loves to play on their phone and ignore you and tell you they're gonna go lay in there nice warm bed!! How lovely is that to here people WHEN WERE GIVIN A SHEET TO SLEEP WITH with the ac all the way up sure helps people with anxiety right? Shivering all night being told to go back to your room when you tell them your panicking and you cannot stop shaking you get yelled at you don't get help didn't get therapy until the last 2nd to last day of my visit had to throw a fit for it and the lady didn't even help she just sat there and let me talk didn't give an input and just started at me while I felt like I was going insane because I was trapped in such an abusive place and she knew it too she knew exactly what I was talking about and that's why she didn't say anything because she knows I was right I'm sure she's heard it a thousand time from so many patients not I'll never go to a ward again I'll never go to anything like that I'll never go around a therapist nobody of that nature because I've realized they're rotten they're there just for there checks and they do not care about your well being or your mental health even though that is what your there for me DO NOT SEND ANYONE YOU LOVE OR CARE ABOUT HERE I WARN YOU IN ADVANCE. If I could give fewer stars, I would. This is the worst job I've ever had, and if I were a patient that wasn't suicidal, river point would be all of my 13 reasons why. It is the most unethical hospital I have ever seen, Doctors get away with punching patients and still work there years later. Staff get away with neglecting or verbally abusing patients. There is no cleaning crew, so it's filthy, and every area of the hospital is understaffed. Techs are the security, and get assaulted and literally leave in ambulances. I mean literally, one of the techs got beat in the head repeatedly with a BOOT and had to go to the hospital for a concussion. It's unsafe for patients and staff, and the management doesn't care. When there's an issue, upper management is nowhere to be found. And when they are there, they go around asking stupid questions instead of helping. The CEO literally once asked me if we had supplies on the unit when we were in the middle of a code with staff being attacked. Don't work here, and Definitely don't go here, especially if you have good insurance because they will keep you longer to make money off of you. Seriously. They're under investigation for it. read more

As a child who has been in the childrens ward, I don't recommend this to children. I don't have any knowledge on the adult ward, but the treatment here is horrible!! My roommate threw up a tuna fish sandwich right next to me and I was called a "little bitch" for not wanting to be in my room. The food quality is also horrible, I wouldn't expect much from a place like this but compared to other mental facilities it's much worse from what I've heard. It doesn't help behavioral issues either, it seems like nurses will try to egg on patients at time, trying to get the last word in with a CHILD. It is a horrible place that many patients have begged to be released, but would not be released because they weren't eligible (the only plus side of this place). There is also barely a sense of time in this place, you are rarely aloud to go outside, windows but you couldn't see out of them a military time clock that half the children couldn't read that wasn't even in the room that you have to stay in for at least 12 hours, the day room. You weren't aloud to leave that room the only time you could was for lunch, breakfast, dinner, and snack. You also weren't provided one on one therapy and had to talk in a group, some of the kids (me and a few others) weren't comfortable with it. Every kid would cry every day because it felt like prison. You were told what to do, when to do it and would be woken up at 5 am every day for your vitals, in my opinion they could've waited a couple more hours for when we woke up. Also, if you were to have a break down or a panic attack you would be left alone until it got so bad that they would give you anxiety meds. That barely worked. So, I don't think it's a good idea to send your child or even as an adult to go here but again I don't know anything about the adult ward. read more
