The reports I received sounded pretty much the same from appointment to appointment. I began to suspect I had ADHD, based on the early behavior of my grandson, who was diagnosed with severe ADHD at age 6. I realized his behavior at that age mirrored my own when I was a child. I will say that the therapist I was seeing agreed that it was probable that I did have ADHD, based on a screening questionnaire and my talking about my symptoms. I went to another practitioner at Baptist Behavioral Health for testing, interview, and diagnosis, and was given the worst misdiagnosis based on outmoded standards. This individual used an outdated set of diagnostic criteria, did not take anywhere near the time that is required to explore nearly 80 years of living with ADHD symptoms, and gave a diagnosis including a condition from which I do not suffer. It was a total waste of time. I have been reading about ADHD in peer-reviewed articles and in articles and books written by recognized experts in the field, and I knew more about the latest research than the person who diagnosed me did. I had to go to an outside consultant, a board-certified psychiatrist, to get a proper interview and a proper, evidence-based diagnosis based on the latest research. I ought to send the one who misdiagnosed me the bill for the psychiatrist's services!

Don't even bother. I wasted 2 years here. The NP wanted to try the same 3 meds over and over again…read moreeven though none of them worked.

Berry Good Farms promotes job training and gives lifeskills to the community. They have summer camps and equestric therapy. They offer volunteer positions that may match your skliiset. It's Diffently worth a visit.

Berry Good Farms is part of the North Florida School of Special Education. The produce (and…read moretilapia!) is grown and harvested by the students. They just won 3rd place in the innovation category at One Spark this year and intend to use the money to start a food truck for the students to sell their produce! Local restaurants even use their produce (Native Sun, Tossgreen, etc). We visited as part of Slow Food First Coast's Tour de Farm 2014 after seeing their set up at One Spark. It's on the small side (it's in the back of the school) but they grow tons of different stuff! Blueberries (their first produce, hence the name of the farm), kale, lettuce, flowers, anything you could imagine. They also have 2 large tilapia tanks and have a system in place that uses the tilapia water/waste to fertilize the plants. For the event there were FSCJ culinary students on hand making really tasty food from the Berry Good Farms produce (lettuce wraps, smoothies, wheat grass shots, etc). Not only does Berry Good Farms produce awesome products, they teach their students to grow and prepare all kinds of food. I can't wait until their food truck is on the streets!

My family's experience with therapist Ashli Adriano and her supervisor Arlet Napoles has been profoundly unprofessional and harmful. Over several months, I requested basic, legally required information: written treatment plans, progress updates, and supervisor details. I received none. Instead, I got long stretches of silence, excuses, and missing documentation. At one point, there was almost a full month with no communication or notice. Ashli also failed to inform me when my other child had an intake appointment with her. I learned about it from my other child, not the therapist. No parent should ever be excluded like that. The most concerning issue was Ashli giving two completely opposite explanations to each parent about why my children's services were discontinued. She told the father that I was the problem and that my "true colors will show." She told me the services were ended due to his lack of communication as the "custodial parent" and an "insurance mixup" that he hadn't taken care of. I have the written messages showing both versions. They do not match. Her discharge explanation does not match her private texts. This is not a misunderstanding -- this is contradictory, destabilizing behavior from a provider who should remain neutral. Her supervisor, Arlet, did not correct the errors, address the contradictory information, or acknowledge the concerns when they were raised. This experience increased conflict between households, interrupted my children's care, and showed a complete lack of professional accountability. I have never seen a therapist behave this way. Parents deserve honesty, transparency, and consistent communication. We did not receive that here. Proceed with caution.
