She treated me horribly, accused me of playing games with her after I even agreed to pay extra for any inconveniences. The inconvenience for her was me coming into the office and asking if they had any spots open this week due to cancellations and the friend I had purchased the area for was still there after 11am. She made fun of my friend and threatened to call the law on her. It is a shame this "owner" treats people like they are subhuman. I paid well over $115 for only 3 nights stay. All you get is a plug to hook up phone and a water spigot for that much money. It is a lovely campground but with ownership like that and the price, it's not worth it. I don't understand why people have become so cruel that simply being kind is out of their ability. And especially anyone that is in the business of serving the public, they should always choose empathy and kindness because you never know what anyone is going through. This place doesn't even deserve two stars.

They take cash only and it is very reasonably priced. Check in after 5 but before 8. Mom and Pop operation. Call ahead of your arrival. Then we slowly drove down a steep, curvy hill to the cabin. The Jennifer was charming! It's a cozy log cabin complete with: * Living room: futon, armchair, TV (with DirectV), puzzles, books * Kitchen: table and chairs, counter space, fridge, stove, oven, microwave, dishes * Loft bedroom: full bed, small wardrobe, night table and lots of hooks for clothes * Downstairs bedroom: full bed * Bathroom: sink, toilet, shower You have everything you need except sheets and towels (BYO). My family spent a couple of fun evenings at the fire pit outside. Be sure to take a stroll around the campground. There are ponds, a bridge, and, of course, Paddy Creek. I highly recommend!

It's a perfect metaphor for the whole place -- neglect wrapped in excuses. As for amenities, calling this a resort is comedy gold. There's a small, perpetually crowded pool that's the only semblance of recreation. Beyond that? Nothing. No playgrounds, no activities, no amenities for kids -- unless you count watching the weeds grow as entertainment. The "main office" doubles as a ghost town; there's no store, no supplies, and certainly no service. The showers and changing rooms only operate during pool hours, which means forget early showers, late rinses, or any kind of off-season use. And the mountain side? It's an oven with no tree cover -- a sunbaked slope that feels less like camping and more like punishment. But the crown jewel of disappointment here is the management. The manager, Bridgette, has turned poor hospitality into an art form. Unless you're in her inner circle, expect hostility instead of help. Any mention of the park's shortcomings is met with denial or name-calling -- everyone's a liar except her. Fees appear out of thin air, rules shift without warning, and enforcement feels more like harassment than management. We were even chastised for having kids' toys and outdoor furniture -- apparently joy is a violation here. A lot of seasonal/permanent sites, but also plenty for travelers camping as well. Nice little shopping area nearby. The Walmart Market was so clean and well organized with well stocked shelves for shopping items possible forgotten to pack in your camper. Camp store also has a nice selection of items one may need. We had a pizza made at the camp store that was pretty good! Second time there camping near a creek...would do it again!

However, I am cheap and like being away from people, so chose dispersed. Keep in mind that if you are staying next to the road, you might hear a lot of early morning trucks driving my. I personally saw three going by that were spotlighting (assuming looking for deer). Then later heard some gunshots and the trucks racing back. I'm a hunter myself, but can't stand spotlighting. Anyways, that was just a side note. Overall, it looks like a great place to spend some time and very close to town. If you choose your spot right (dispersed or pay), you can be close to the creek, which is a great sound to fall asleep to!

He was not very friendly. It said the campground was full even though there were only like four people there out of like 10 places. I told him it said online that they were four walk-up spots available and he said that they were all reserved. Very frustrating, considering it's a pretty big drive out there in the middle of the forest. It's also not really by a creek at all it feels like you're camping in a parking lot. I'm so glad that we didn't end up staying there officially. Even the bathhouse that was there was so small that I don't even understand how there could possibly be a shower in it. So I'm not sure if they even have showers or not. This is an over glorified parking lot that has picnic tables.
