We were guests at a wedding here at Riverledge Farm in Grafton, VT. The bride and groom rented out the entire Farm house and had the whole immediate family sleeping there over the weekend of the wedding. Two kitchens offered plenty of space for preparing shared meals and the property had puzzles, games and even child's wooden kitchen set available to guests.
The Farm house consists of the original 'Old' remodeled Farmhouse and a 'New' addition making it a Duplex with adjoining door between the two kitchens. Each unit has a washer/dryer. The old side has a half bath on the ground floor, a working kitchen and two dining/living areas as well as a big entry hall. Upstairs are three bedrooms and a 3/4 bath. The new Farmhouse has a 3/4 bath off the kitchen, one bedroom on the lower level and I'm not sure how many bedrooms or baths are on the upper level. You enter from a large porch to the living room and the kitchen is an 'eat-in' style. Both sides are bright and sunny. Two seating areas are on this end of the large porch/deck as well as a gas grill.
Both units have access to a large back yard. Edison style lights are over a section of the yard. This was where the wedding was supposed to happen, but as it poured all day the day of the wedding, they were able to rent the event barn to hold the ceremony. The owners were very happy to work with them to make their day come together.
The event barn is a large space just across the dirt road from the Farmhouse. I'm not sure what the capacity is there, but it has a vaulted ceiling and rustic, old wood floors. A loft is located above the back of the barn and some hunters were using that for sleeping quarters during our visit. They were out during the ceremony. A heavy curtain wall provides privacy in the loft from the event space. A small kitchen area is located under the loft as well as a single ladies room large enough for the bride to change in and a single men's room.
The property is quite large with fields all around the house and barn. Roads on the property are dirt. A parking area in front of the farmhouse will hold four or five vehicles. A sign by the entrance road on a pasture fence states guest can park there which is plenty large for any event in the barn. Their Instagram page shows they are a working farm.
Just down the road is the Grafton Inn which has a restaurant and lounge, and in a town close by is Moore's Inn which is rooms only. Based on the bride and groom, and my own experience, I recommend this event space. read more
