The small staff maintains several tanks of living caterpillars, that can be seen under microscopes and viewed on a large screen. The staff are thrilled to share their knowledge about caterpillars. They also have a large collection of books about caterpillars -- one that I picked up to browse was entitled, Caterpillars of West Virginia No charge to enter -- the project is carried by donations and by the sale of caterpillar related items such as jigsaw puzzles, posters, Tshirts and books The back story is that a little by named Sam Jaffe became fascinated by caterpillars, and had managed to turn his childhood passion into a passion project. David goes to different farmers' markets and you can also contact him directly to see other methods to obtain those special mushrooms from him. I also attended the Mushroom Workshop at Wichland Woods over the weekend. The workshop was fun for people who want to learn about mushrooms and maybe growing the mushroom at home. You will need to go on a pretty difficult off-trail walk in order to pick your own mushrooms and most of them were not edible. However, I definitely gain lots of knowledge after this workshop. I also bought some Trumpet Mushroom and Lobster Mushrooms after the workshop. They were definitely delicious!

A bunch of other people didn't know as well and we got in only a few minutes before the movie started. Small, new appearing theater. I highly recommend this place. Also, if you are a genealogist, you will find practically any local family volume for your research! I live in Burlington, VT and was still drooling over the books! The staff was very friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. One note about the fee, you have to find someone to pay because no one is at the entrance to collect your money. There is a small store filled with books penned by local authors, as well as local maps. Some postcards also are available. It's a great place!
