The bean salad, although sounding unassuming had a tasty vinegar dressing and was just the right side to go with my sandwich for brunch. Although you can still eat inside, they have also crested two little patio areas for dining al fresca. This is a casual place so don't expect table service other than them bringing you your food when it's ready. Also nice to see that they sell a few items crafted by local artists in the bakery. Skip the heavy, processed foods and come here for a great treat!

Lovely ambiance especially inside with all sorts of curios. Outside are misters on those hot days. Hedley has quite a mining history. Visit the museum across the street. In fact, this place is completely clueless when it comes to proper gluten free and it is terrible food on top of it. Their crepes are made on the same griddle and I was told they use separate utensils and put down a "layer of oil as a barrier". FYI-a layer of oil does NOT make a barrier for gluten. I ordered the regular crepe for my husband - he said it was more like a pancake and not terribly good. I ordered the breakfast that was supposed to have scrambled eggs, hash browns and bacon. I asked how the hash browns were prepared as I was concerned about cross contamination (often hash browns are fried in the same fryer as gluten items). I was told they are baked. Once I received my plate, I realized they were frozen hash browns so had to go request to look at the ingredients. Those were fine but I could have been told when I was clearly concerned about gluten contamination. I had a mouth full of the eggs which were flavourless and slimy/mushy so I would hazard a guess that they also came from a box/bag and not from the shell. My dining companions each shared two regular crepes, one with eggs and they thought the eggs in the crepes were terrible and disappointed in the quality of the crepe itself. All electronics worked without any problems, the sheets and towels were clean as well. The shower's water pressure was pretty bad, but how can it not be for being in the middle of the mountain. We never got our wireless to work either, but to be honest, it was nice not reading emails and facebook for 2 days! The windy dirt road leading up to the resort was something this city girl was not used to, and the lack of signs for the resort was a little disconcerting as well. But once you get there, the main office where you check in is conveniently located right behind the stone gates where you first enter the resort. The view of the mountain and the lake is magnificent, the food catered at the wedding was delicious, and the activity center was fully equipped with badminton, ping pong, swings, kids play house, bocce ball, soccer, basketball.. etc. Overall, great vacation at a great resort. Highly recommended if you want to get away from reality for a few days.

It is a meticulously maintained place, with scattered cabins surrounding a small lake and mountains. It feels private, safe, and secluded. The campsite was gorgeous, too. I suggest a stay of a few days - for families, or as a romantic escape. There is only one place to eat, so I would come equipped with some snacks and drinks.
