There have been days where my apartment couldn't even get down to 70 degrees. One load of laundry takes nearly 8 hours, I kill at least 5 bugs a day, can hear every step my upstairs neighbor takes, and have had multiple packages stolen with no assistance whatsoever. Oh, the rooftop? Residents let their dogs go #2 up there in the winter and management does NOTHING. For how much they're asking monthly, this is a complete rip off. Do not recommend for anyone.

Park Ridge is located on Hoosick street, which puts you about a mile from anywhere you would ever want to go (shopping, restaurants, all major highways). Luckily theres a traffic light when leaving Park Ridge, so its never a hassle to commute on those early mornings to work. Deb in the office truly cares about her residents, and wants to make sure everyone is happy and she does an excellent job at it! Park Ridge is owned by Tri City Rentals, and they invest a great amount of money into keeping the place nice. The grounds are always kept immaculate and they repaved the parking lot to make significantly more spots. Whenever I have encountered a problem, Park Ridge has gone out of their way to fix it almost immediately. When my air conditioner broke, they went out to Home Depot and purchased a $500 portable A/C and installed it in my bedroom while they waited for a contractor to replace my central AC unit. I honestly can't say enough great things about this place, and to top it all off their prices are more than affordable.

Knowing that I was moving out in less than a month, I was trying to give this place credit for what it does right. This whole apartment building, and probably most of the newly built apartments around here (eg Starbuck Island) are the same - flashy insides and poor building quality with NO SOUND PROOFING. When you live in Troy, I think you have to expect a little bit of residual city noise from outside (cars, drunk people yelling, etc.), but a properly built apartment should mitigate any noise you might hear coming from your fellow tenants. Given how many units are in this building, that should be non-negotiable. The thing is, when you come to look at this apartment, all you see is the shiny countertops and the deep sink and the brand new gym - you won't experience the detrimental lack of soundproofing until you've already signed the lease and have moved it. By then, it's too late. I cannot wait time get out of here - I am absolutely at the end of my fuse with this place. The property manager at the "Towers on the Hudson" apartments has said that a lot of people are moving out of "The News" apartments and many of those people are moving to the Towers, because it's cheaper and there's actually little to no noise transferred between units. It may not be as "flashy", but it's nice for the money and the area and the peace and quiet is 100% worth a minor downgrade in interior design.

Wondering if this was a good fit for my mom. The minute I met Max, his personality, his dedication to the seniors who live here made my decision so easy. He knows the residents by name, each one we came in contact with. It seemed to me he was "friends" with each one. He listens to issues, he just listens patiently if they just want to chat. He has the patience of a saint, and I told him. It take a special individual to do what he does. Someone who really cares about the seniors. The grounds are very pretty with lots of trees and seasonal flowers. Usually, the only "noise" is from birds and children happily playing. Hey, while we are "in the city," it feels and looks like suburbia. It is a VERY safe place to live. As for the staff...really nice, helpful and skilled people. They are both gracious and prompt in attending to residents. The place is in good shape because of their continued updating and care. Why not 5 stars? Well, only because of cost. It does go up, on average, $20 yearly. I only hope the rent doesn't out-do my pocketbook someday, because I really love this place!
